kind regards, I ask all the adobe programs all work well for me, but only one does not work is fireworks and that is when it was updated, for what reason

An internal error occured.  This is what I get when I open Fireworks CS5.  I have worked in this app for years.  It locked up on me Friday and I had to close the app through my task manager.  Now it won't open.  How do I fix this problem?  

Hi I'm in a bit of a panic here.  I cannot get Adobe Fireworks started.  I have been using Fireworks CS5 for years but there is no way I can get it started.  It goes as far as 'Initialising User files' and doesnt go any further.I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, done all the updates but still no joy.  I have also removed all registery entries and user preference folders etc.  I have al tried to run it in compatibility mode. Interestingly I am also having problems running Adobe Acrobat.  WHen I open a file it opens fine then suddenly crashes.  All other Adobe products are working fine. Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

 ReinstalledCannot preview or save Get error cannot do request The file in use by another application. I had to reinstall windows 10.  I installed on older computer windoes 7 It works fine.

BIG MISTAKE!!!  No matter what anyone says, if you are on a Mac you cannot run Fireworks after updating to Catalina OS 64 bit.  Trust me... I spent my whole Saturday trying.  Finally, I gave up.  I spent my whole SUNDAY rolling back to Mojave.  Come to think of it, Mojave warned me last year that future updates would be 64bit.   😐   It wouldn't be such a big deal if I didn't literally have 1000's of layered FW proprietary PNG files that no other program can open.  Guess I should start converting to PSD's preparing them for the inevitable.  Moral of the story???  If you love your Fireworks, DON'T update.  PSA!!

Can anyone explain how I can use a colour photo and keep part of it coloured, e.g. some red apples, and turn the reast of it black and white, using Macromedia Fireworks 8?

I have been a faithful Adobe Fireworks user for many years. My MAC OS was old and the new Catalin doesnt support Fireworks. The FWCS6 software was on a purchased MAC that I created way too many PNG files on. I now need to open these "layered PNG" files and change them. HOW?I have been on the internet for days with this subject and no help yet.I can save these files to PSD files but what Adobe software will open them?Adobe suppirt told me PS Elements 202 would do it so i downloaded a free trial and I doesnt support layers after many hours of installing it on my MAC...and filling out so much info I doidnt even know answers to.There must be a way without having to spend $21 per month when you only use this for personal creations and sometomes only once per month. Why cant Adobe let the home users pay a one time fee to still be able to use these files?Thanks for listening!

LOVE my Fireworks and just purchased a brand new Mac only to find out that it's not supported on Catalina.   SOOOOOO.....I guess I shall be learning a new program but I have no idea which one is most like Fireworks or would be most useful to me.  I mostly used Fireworks to design and edit images, logos, and print graphics.   Any suggestions?

I upgraded my MacBook Pro to the new operating system "Catalina".  Now my Fireworks does not even open.  Please tell me there is a fix in the works.  I really want the program back.

Hi All, I am having problems using Rich Symbols and Symbol properties. Have not used them is a while. But it feel like maybe this feature has been partially removed?

I am a long time user of Fireworks and it is a big part of my workflow in Website Support. I recently changed from PC to Mac, and was, with support assistance, able to find and download the CS6 version for Mac, through my Creative Cloud. However, although it installed, it will not open. It hangs every time. What can I do to get it working - support chat people "are not trained" on this product so can't help me. I am also distressed that this product is being depreciated, and I can not find a suitable replacement. Any suggestions anyone?

I have contacted Adobe to ask to purchase a valid key for Fireworks CS6. They have directed my to subscribing to Creative Cloud, however, I do not want to pay for applications I won't use. Creative cloud has deleted my copy of Fireworks and the newest version will not show me the older apps. They have told me to post here so I can get a product license for Firework CS6. Adobe support agent: "Fireworks layers are stored in the private chunks of the PNG files in a proprietary format which is not PNG. I don't know of any program that can read them." Since there doesnt seem to be any movement toward reinstating Fireworks. There are many many people who would greatly appreciate an import that would preserve the layer data.

For some reason, the Adobe Fireworks CS5 installed in my Windows 10 PC is resizing images when copy/pasting from one document to the other. This started happening today.I have LocationArrow.png, which has has a simple image. Its size is 484px by 484px. This is what I see in my Windows laptop: I copy this path and paste in another Fireworks file. When I paste, the image has been resized to 7px by 7px: It seems that the pasting isn't working correctly. Another example: I use the Snipping Tool in Windows 10 to create the screenshots that I used in this post. This is what happens when I paste the contents of the Snipping Tool to Fireworks: What can the issue be? In worse-case scenarios, the pasting makes the image so huge that Fireworks freezes.On the other hand, if I copy/paste in the same file, the size remains the same.

Hi, I have a very old (about 15 or so years) Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard which I love and cherish. I am now unable to activate it when installing it on my relatively new Surface Book. Does anyone know a way of doing this? Yes I am old-fashioned but I like the software and know how to use it. Thanks for any help.

after the new Mac OS I wanted to download the dmg files from your site and then install them. I have downloaded them but when I click the install icon i get a messages saying: “Install” needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.

Today I updated my Mac and Firework no longer opens. I know Adobe wasn't supporting it but it was still available to use which I did so now I have LOTS of source files in .png format. All the programs I've tried to open the .png files with (Illustrator, Photoshop and XD) strip the Fireworks data so they are uneditable.  Is there another program that I use that will allow me to open these .png files with full function?  

can't open file type of Vector file ( .ai ) in Adobe Fireworks CC with mac OS High Seirra, so previously version ( Adobe & macOS ) can do it ) .... please, someone helps me to sloving this a big problem- thanX alot 🙂

Hard to believe a software company has the power (or the right, since I own a stand alone license for CS6 Master Collection which includes Fireworks) to reach out and kill a beloved program that can create interactive buttons and pop down menus with precision and vector beauty - html, .js and .css all generated for your website building pleasure. Today I tested the waters to see what was happening on my home computer by opening Fireworks CS6 (all of my computers in the school Mac Lab have already reached EOL with this program). The program launched with it's normal routine, then the Application Manager took control and promptly stated that my trial period had run out. It did, however, graciously say I could use the program one last time on this machine. Strange since it has never been trial software on any of my machines either at home or at work. The versatility of this software is beyond compare and the stuffed shirt young developers at Adobe will never be able to replace it. Oh well

I am trying to upload 24 images to Zillow and Craigslist. Both won't allow me to upload about 1/2 the images; Zillow seems to allow more than CL. When I try to open them in Fireworks, that ones that the listings won't upload are saying: "Could not open the file. Unknown file type."All images are the same dimensions, about the same size and all are jpgs!I did save as for all of them from a listing client has on AirBnB. But it that were the problem, why wouldn't all of them have a hard time opening in Fireworks? Thanks so much in advance for your help!
