Hi, I do not know, when this was introduced, but I find this highly annoying. (I think with FrameMaker 2022 or 2020.) Often I want to move the insertion mark to the beginning or end of a line. E.g. I want to insert a paragraph before the existing paragraph. However, when there are also markers or table anchors at the beginning of the line, I get problems. E.g. the insertion mark is below a paragraph with a marker and I press the left arrow key. Then the insertion mark is at the beginning of the paragraph with the marker and not at the end of the paragraph. You can test this, when you press the left arrow key again (moves to the paragraph above the marker paragraph) or the right arrow key (moves to the right of the marker). When the insertion mark is at the beginning of the marker paragraph and I press the End key, the insertion mark is still at the beginning and is not moved to the end after the marker. I have document with two master pages left and right... Every chapter is started on new page... Some chapters contains only one page of data... when i save that single page chapter after clicking on save one blank page is atumatically added at the end. when i delete this page  foramt>document >delete page . page will deleted and when i save that new updated file blank page is added....

Hello,I am a technical writer with a moderate knowledge of Framemaker. I am doing a conversion project for a client (FM to ST4).  Last weeks I work from home and the performance of FM dropped dramatically. It takes 1-4 minutes to open a .fm file. Scrolling through a .fm file (no matter how big: from 4-60 pages) is very slow: you watch the page building up almost line by line.When I work in the office it's working fine.At home I have no problems with other applications, also the heavier apps like Inventor, I can open several models and work on it without problems.The client is a small company with an IT department of 1 person, who is willing to help but he says he cannot do anyrhing because the FM application is running locally on my laptop.I'm looking for advice. Is there anything we can do for better performance?Thank you in advance,Liduine 

Does any one know how to install a Webworks Rasterizer printer? I know it will automatically installed after the ePublisher Designer software, but mine just don't get it. Which makes it impossible to generate .chm file from FrameMaker. 

Hello,when I do Ctrl+P, in the windows that opens, I don't find any option to print on both sides. Why ? Is it a simple way to do that ?

I am marking up and editing an old, poorly written FM document and I need to highlight numerous different kinds of problems in the document with different colors. I have absolutely no use for these non-colors taking up room in this dropdown:    Does anyone know how to delete these useless color choices? Thanks!

Hello, I'm using FM 2015 (TCS) and have inserted quite a few comment markers in the book's files. When generating the PDF I expected to see these comments as comment notes in the PDF file, but this isn't the case. None of these comment markers appear. (There is no condition applied to these markers and there's no problem in generating a LOM with these comments.)Are there any specific settings that need to be enabled to include these comments in the PDF output in their actual context?Will greatly appreciate any advice.Thanks, Donna

On longish pages that have multiple headings within them, I'm finding that if a referenced heading is partway down the page, clicking on the cross ref (from a different page) jumps to the top of the page containing the heading, rather than to the heading's location. This is going to be pretty confusing for users who won't know that the heading they're looking for is further down the page. Does anyone have any advice? I can only assume that we'll have to rejig the heading levels so that each referenced heading is on the top of a page to prevent this happening.

Has anyone using the SharePoint Online connector been able to select a different folder to the default 'documents' folder in their SharePoint site to be used as the respository? I have tried multiple combinations between the server address and the repository name to try and get the connection manager to connect to a different library within our SharePoint site but always get the 'FrameMaker could not connect to the repository' error.  Using FM22 v17.0.4.

why i click on word created as cross refernce hyperlink... it is not working... do not pointed to designation 

AFter PDF generation on clicking on inseted cross refernce it will not move to destination 

We use background frames to insert watermarks (graphic or text). Unfortunately, when we are trying to make comments on PDFs during review, the watermark is often selected when trying to highlight a piece of text. Both the background graphic and the background text frames are behind the flow frame.As you can imagine, this is getting VERY irritating.Is there anyway at all to set up the background frames so that they are NOT selectable once the file is printed to PDF?

Dear readers, I can't find the Letter Spacing under Fonts in the EDD. Everything else is there, but the Letter Spacing. Does it exist, or is this the only one who isn't changeable via the EDD? Thanks in advance, Belinda

Greetings.I'm importing by reference an Excel file into a FrameMaker file.I'm then cross-referencing from this FM file to multiple other FM files to generate multiple price sheets. At least that's what I'm trying to do.When I update the excel file, the importing FM file also updates as expected. However, the cross-referencing FM file does not update. Instead, the cross-references become unresolved. When I try to reestablish the cross-references (select the file, click Open), the error just reappears. I'm looking for a way to maintain these cross-references from a live import file. (There are thousands of prices to update. The screenshots below are a micro sample I'm using to experiment on.) Here are the importing and x-ref files before I update the spreadsheet: Here they are after I update the spreadsheet: 

I sent mif files out for translation and when I open them the images are all grey boxes. The images were placed by reference in the source file. When I asked my predecessor about it, here is what she said: "For translations, they should reference the same image locations as for the English. Yes, that means repeating the process of finding each missing image for each language. But once you do it for a particular manual, you shouldn't have to do it again (unless someone moves the files)." Is there a better way to do this? Thanks,Julianna

Hi, I have an issue with numbering in a book. I had to change chapter numbering from 4 to 2, which in principle was working. I followed this navigation:   Format --> Document --> Numbering --> Chapter --> Chapter Number,  and changed the chapter number from, 4 to 2 for the complete book.  It did not work for the numbering in the table of content and the page numbering in the body file. In both, it still is "4"   I've read [other posts] and see that my "Format" tab does not provide the "Pagination" option. Although I use the German language version of FM, I think I should have found it by now after trying all the obvious options.   Grateful for any help!  

When we migrated our environment to a new PC, we installed the latest version of FrameMaker 2022.I followed the steps in the following URL to set up the MIF Wash Utility.https://helpx.adobe.com/framemaker/kb/how-to-use-mifwash-utility-in-framemaker.html Every time I start FrameMaker, I get the following error messageUnable to initialize the API client “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe FrameMaker 2022\fminit\BookComponentMIFWash.dll”.I have been able to use the MIF Wash Utility without any problems with FrameMaker 2022, which is an update from FrameMaker 2019, which I have been using. Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem.Thank you in advance.

When I publish to Responsive HTML5 in unstructured FrameMaker Version 13.0.5.547 the TOC doesn't come through even though I have it marked as "true" in the settings. I don't want the Index or Glossary to come through, so I have them set to "false" but the icons for them are still coming through into HTML.

I have some files in a book that ALWAYS have unresolved cross references, and I don't understand why.When I open the files, I get this message: This happens for several files in the book. Always the same ones.So I fix the unresolved cross references using the Find/Cross References-Unresolved tool and repairing them on the Cross References menu. After the "Find" yields no more unresolved cross references, I save all of the files. Then I update the book.But despite saving ALL of these files, once they are closed and opened again, they once again have the SAME unresolved cross references, even though NOTHING has changed since I repaired the unresolved cross references and saved the files.How is this happening and how do I fix it, permanantly?Thank you.

I am new to FrameMaker but have worked in InDesign. I added three images in an existing FM book and want to add captions that will be numbered in sync with the rest of the captions in the document. I tried adding an anchor frame. According to the directions, once I create one, I can click in and type the caption. But nothing happens when I click into it. Meaning it's not there. I've been trying to figure this out all day to no avail. Sometimes in the anchor initiation screen it has the new anchor button and sometimes the edit anchor button. Sometimes it's greyed out sometimes not. I tried creating a caption without the anchor and a bunch of other work arounds with no luck. Any ideas out there? Thanks, Julianna    

I can see in my Technical Communications suite the apps I have access to, but I cannot install. The "cards"/links are all dead. The "Download your apps" is also only button in appearance. Is there an alternative way to get installers?
