Add the ability to crop a composition to its layer bounds. Useful for when you pre-comp and don't want to inherit the original comp bounds, but use the layer bounds instead.Alternatively, add a pre-comp dialogue option to crop to layer bounds when creating a pre-comp.Similar to what this script does:https://aescripts.com/auto-crop/
As a reasonably new user of After Effects, the only thing I find frustrating is the 'inexact' nature of zooming on the timeline. With other Adobe products (and within the comp window itself) you can zoom in in percentage increments.I find, when working on a project, the tiny zoom at the bottom of the timeline is so small and inexact, I only really use it like a 3 stage zoom, all the way in, medium and all the way out. Anything else is quite finicky. The time navigator (above the timeline is far more useful in that you can drag in or out the view with greater control because it's larger.WHAT ITS MISSING FOR ME IS A box to type or select a percentage. (15%, or 25%, or 50%)This would allow me to use a common percentage for my comps that suits my specific comp.Depending on the length of my comp I quite often use the SAME PERCENTAGE because of the scale of my effects, or clips or the timing of my animation. If I could easily zoom in 25% it would make my life much easier. You could incorporate a percentage based zoom at the bottom (might be a bit tight), or even a tool-tip type calculation at the top to tell you WHAT percentage when you drag the time navigator (see my mockup). This would at least tell my brain to 'zoom into around 20%' to see my elements at the scale I commonly use.
I'd find it helpful to have a "Stop after current" button that would continue to render the video that is in progress, and then stop, so that all remaining items are still set to 'Queued'. (Or even for this to be the default behaviour.) Currently, if I've set a lot of videos to render, and need to stop for some reason, I need to stop the queue, and then later find the item that was 'Stopped by user' and re-queue that item. This adds workload and also increases the risk of an item being forgotten during the export process.
Lets make a way to use photoshop text with added SFX and save it as a PSD file, then open the After effects software app, insert the photoshop text PSD file, transfer either driectly into the video or to the timeline, and then create a separate elipse tool circle within the after effects video, then combine both the custom photoshop PSD text file and the inner after effects elipse circle to create a custom rotating text via the anchor point.
After effects is in DIRE need of an edge extend tool. When dealing with keys or roto that has haloing and edge contamination issues and/or transparency from motion blur. To the best of my knoledge, there is no way in AE to extend the color and luminance values from the core of the key and extend them outward. This is a vital tool for correcting edges. I have been looking for over a decade for a tool or technique that can reliably to this in AE, and there isn't one. I literally have to have a Nuke artist do this for me. Nuke has a myriad of tools for the the clean up of contaminated edges on roto or keys. This is an example of what edge extend does in Nuke. this isn't an averaging of the overall pixels, it just extends the values outward so things like motion blur can be rebuilt. Here's a video describing the process of using Color Smear with an actor very quickly crossing a bright monitor that needs screen replacement. this is something I do regularly, and it's a total pain in AE. https://youtu.be/HUOzaV9gP5E?t=38
Please allow auto-scroll in the multi track editor to be disabled permanently, so it doesn't turn itself back on every time I play/pause the session.
I don't see a lot of discussion around this topic and most After Effects compositors either use sub par methods or simply aren't in need for high end solutions. But for us being stuck in the ecosystem it is tremendously hard to perform high quality composite work without any form of pixel spread to do clean ups, edge extends and creation of clean plates from green screens. These tools have been available in compositing packages like Flame, Fusion and Nuke for years already. The only thing we have is an immensly slow performing extend in Refine Hard Matte with tons of options we don't need and a range limit of about 1pixel. Their tools perform close to realtime and are able to smear the pixel information much much further. Please consider implementing a very fast performing high quality pixel spreader that is able to take RGB information and spread it with different methods/modes via it's own layer's alpha/mask or external via the mask layer selection. To understand what I'm talking about here are the tools in other software.Flame (best implementation and featureset): https://youtu.be/d1q_4XTGaJkFlame (same tool to do cleanplate in interpolate mode): https://youtu.be/DEg4jM11TQ8?t=203Nuke EdgeExtend: https://youtu.be/_KhF9WnxITYNuke IBKColour: https://youtu.be/EALBwyXXVFEFusion (least good algorithm/quality): https://youtu.be/wUSxUv9Y6Xc?t=593 Thank you.
I love lossy DNG. Would love to skip a whole step of importing and then converting.
Would love to have a perspective drawing tool for Photoshop
After working with Content Credentials in PS 2025 for a while I have the follewing sugegstions to make it truly workable. A number of features of the (Adobe or otherwise) Content Creation process seem to need improvement to produce a truly workable system. The present “select for each image” process is cumbersome and not conducive to inclusion in a PS action that is always run on opening a new image.PS and LR (and other software) need a Preferences parameter to set “always”, “ask” or “never” for the CC process. The current “click here” method is inadequate. If the process is to be required, then the installation default should be “always”.The CC condition needs to be permanent. That is, once turned on for an image, it remains on until deactivated. The CC panel also needs to retain previous settings (or set as preferences) and be permanently pinable to the workspace. Richard
Right now, when multiple compositions are queued but not yet rendered, each one requires its own manual “Output To” selection. This gets tedious fast when you have dozens of comps waiting. It would be a major time-saver to select multiple queued items and assign a single output destination to all of them at once. Currently, even if you select all the comps and set the output for one, it doesn’t propagate to the other selected comps. This would simplify batch-rendering workflows and eliminate a lot of repetitive clicking, especially on large projects with many deliverables.
Does Adobe offer any library to view what each Adobe Premiere Pro transition will look like?
The mobile app is powerful for color grading, but the absence of a text feature even in the premium plan limits workflow for many creators. Please consider adding a built-in text tool. It would be a huge upgrade! 📌
a lot of the times ill need to unlink footage to make adjustments on the audio and then need to relink again, however iif there's already cuts and i need to make adjustments then i wont be able to relink again. i would LOVE a feature where you can toggle a button that makes it so when you click on a certain clip in the timeline it selects everything thats above and below that clip aswell (aka the footage's audio files or other povs/camera angles on top) technicially we do already have a feature like this such as select clip at playhead, however that means that you need to have your playhead at the clip. i want to be able to just click and delete since normally im cutting large amounts of footage. i feel like this feature would be great especiially for multi pov as having to drag your mouse across multiple povs is extremelyy timie consuming and constantly stopping and starting with "select clip at playhead" is also time consuming
The feature request is simple: I suggest to be able to reverse our Linear Gradients without needing to use "Invert" it could doabl via: Right Click L-gradient > "Reverse Gradient" The advantage of this is that the state of our Liner Gradient(s) won't change. Current method Suggested Tis a small thing but I propose anyway.
Please add a link to the generation history in the link list above the generation window. I often use generated Images as a reference to a new gen image, so that I need my history more often than the gallery that is also linked in the link bar above. It would also be helpful to add "use as style/composition reference" to the images in the generation history. So that you can continue your work (but without using a board).
Since the recent update of PS the placement of where to create a new solid colour has been moved and thrown me off multiple times as I use it regularly. It feels an odd choice to have made and would prefer it to revert to where it used to be in the layer menu.
Two+ years after the arrival of the new useful Shapes Patterns, Gradients or Swatches Panels, users still cannot find the legacy presets as they search in the Option bar local menu, or in the local menu of the Contextual (right-click) click on the image, instead of in the new panels. Case in point: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/missing-patterns-in-fill-dialog/m-p/12824825/thread-id/630928#M630985 We never see such discussions for Brushes, for the legacy option exists in the Option bar local menu, in the local menu when they right-click on the image. (in addition to the Brushes panel) Why do they search there? Because, before we got the new folders, that's where all the other sets were found. You cannot beat twenty years of muscle memory...
Adding a layer merging function to the black and white mask will greatly improve efficiency.
Good DayIs it possible to create a function where you can abort save and revert to last save? This is because sometimes when you are saving a file it will show the rainbow ball of death continuosly and it either takes a long time for the file to save or the file crashes and sometimes doesn't restore last save. Can there be an option to abort saving because at the moment you have to let Illustrator do it's thing and it not really feasable when you are on a tight dealine and you have to wait 30 min or more for a file to save.Abort button can be a great function please!!
Hi Adobe team,I have a request regarding the Image Assets feature (Generate → Image Assets) in Photoshop. When exporting PNGs from artboards, the file is always exported as PNG-32 (RGBA), even if the artwork doesn’t need transparency. There’s currently no way to export PNG-24 (RGB, no alpha) when using artboards. For UI and game UI work, we sometimes need strict PNG-24 outputs, and having the export forced to 32-bit causes issues in certain pipelines. What’s happening now:Using artboards → PNG export is always 32-bit (RGBA)No option or syntax to generate PNG-24 through Image AssetsLeads to extra manual steps or external conversion toolsWhat I’m hoping for:Allow Image Assets to export PNG-24 (no alpha) when the artboard background is opaqueorProvide a setting/syntax to choose 24-bit or 32-bit per assetThis would be a big help for teams working with game engines or platforms that require strict PNG-24 assets.Hope this can be considered in a future update. Thanks!
