The cNum is taken from my.json.Is it a string? Hey guys! For some reason I can't uninstall the older and beta version of InDesign. I've tried trough the CC, normal storage uninstall section from Windows and even Control Panel and they are still on the app section for some reason. I've tried checking the older versions of Indesign on the Cloud but I've only got the most recent one installed. I attached some pics for reference. It's taking storage from my pc and I need it! Any help?

I have written about 10 books (print) and several online presentations (web) and have never had the problem I'm having now. I have a document set up with NO FACING PAGES.  Whether I set it up as a printed document or a web document, the same thing happens.When I try to insert a page it addes the page like it would for a facing page (beside the page), but I don't want that...I want it to show up as the next page (underneath the page).  All other pages set out correctly when I started the document; however, this anomoly happens when ever I try to add a page.I must be missing something in my set up, but I've done this so many times before without this problem.  Is there something in these newer releases that I'm not aware of?Any ideas for me? 

So, I've created an inner stroke to frame an image but what I'd like is for this stroke to knock out the top image and allow an underlying image to show through - is this possible?I've created this example by making a compound object and placing the underlying image into it to achieve the result, but I'd like to know if this same effect can be created by using an inner stroke and masking/knocking out the top image? 

For example:There are two files my.json and aa.jsx in the same path.I have a code in my.json that looks like this:{"oldCode": "60068"} I now want to use var changeCode="10020" in aa.jsx to change the value of oldCode.How to achieve it?Thank you very much.

I am using InDesign CC 2018 and my swatches palette has suddenly stopped showing the document colours. They can be seen when I look at other palettes which use the colours however not in the actual swatches palette.I have:a) Rebuilt my InDesign preferences and;b) Uninstalled the app and then reinstalledNeither of these things have worked. Has anyone found an alternative solution to this problem?

I've run into this occasionally, but it would appear every once and a while, I'll get a corrupt font in the Document Fonts folder. I deleted the corrupt font, but the corrupt font kept sticking through IDMLs and closing reopening and deleting styles.Ultimately, with the font deleted, I rolled back a version, reopened and the correct face was showing. Does this bug sound familiar?Was hoping there'd be a way to fix it without restoring an old file.

When I open a document I get a warning that three links are missing. Nothing is indicated as missing in the links menu. 

Found a great way to work live, on the iPad, from the computer.BUT, Adobe being Adobe, it's not perfect.If I click to "Edit Original" and then edit, and save, I must switch back to InDesign before it actually does the update.  That's problem 1.  I'd really rather not have to make that switch back.  Any way around that?Second, haivng switched back to InDesign to get that "live" update, if I [Command + Tab] back to the editing app, the "live" updating link is lost, so the next change I make I must go back to InDesign and use the TINY little button at the top of the screen to find the Update Link choice.I'd much rather a Keyboard Shortcut for Update All Links, rather than having to deal with this.Better yet, constant live updates would be epic.  Anyways to do this?    

Whenever I select high-quality display performance it makes my image super pixelated. The image is high res and the settings under display performance are set to high res and high quality. I also have preserve object-object level display settings and enable anti-aliasing checked. Nothing is making sense.

I have a price sheet that I built in InDesign.  I want to pull data from an excel spreadsheet.However, I want to pull specific  cells into my single page in InDesign AND still have them linked to the spreadsheet.That way when the prices change I can open the InDesign page and jusr reflow the data.So far.  It's been a bust.I can pull specific cells into InDesign, but they are no longer linked to the spread sheet, so I we update the spreadsheet, it does not propagate to the InDesign file. Or, I can't just re-link the data. How do I do this and have the data remain linked?

Hi everyone,I recently purchased a new Mac mini with the M4 chip, but I'm encountering significant lagging issues in InDesign. All other Adobe products seem to be working fine, but InDesign is very "laggy." This is especially noticeable when I zoom in on an image or simply scroll through pages. I often have to click somewhere else to get it to refresh or render properly.I've read online that I need to enable GPU Performance, but as you can see in the screenshot below, it's unavailable for me.Could this issue be related to my monitor setup? I'm using a Samsung Odyssey LC24RG50FQI XCI monitor and an XPPen Artist Pro 14 (Gen 2) graphics tablet. Everything is connected with high-quality cables (Samsung via HDMI to HDMI, XPPen via Type-C to Type-C).I have the latest native version of InDesign installed. I've already tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the program multiple times, and even reinstalling macOS (the latest version,Sequoia 15.5 (24F74)) – all without success. I bought suc

I could really use some pointers on this. I'm crafting a large document that has many tables. The tables have a black, 100% fill on the first two rows, then an alternating fill of 25% black for the rest of the rows. On some of my tables, and always on a table that is near the right-hand edge of the page, the first row is slightly longer than the rows that follow it. This isn't every table, just specific ones. They weren't crafted differently than the other tables, so i'm at a loss. Here's an example. The right-most table.

Hello All,I have a large document with hundreds of short phrases in an italic Character Style followed immediately by a comma with [No Style]. I want to apply the same italic Character Style to the trailing comma. That is, I want to change [italic-phrase], to [italic-phrase,]. I don't see any way to do this with the Find/Change GREP dialog, but maybe in ExtendScript? It sounds like a job for GREP with a positive lookbehind, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this in Extendscript. Is there an existing script that might be adapted to such a use case? Or can someone show how to find a comma preceded by italic styled text? Or any better idea? Thank you.

Hi I have a doubt with the styles. For example, I have several paragraphs with a style that sets the font to 10pt. If I modify a couple of lines and set the font to 11pt without modifying the style, I will get the symbol (+) next to the style name when I select that part of the text. But that modification can be easy to see. Let's suppose that now there are many modifications and maybe not all so obvious, color change but very subtle, or modification of values in the hyphenation... Is there a way to know which are the modifications made outside of the style and which generate the (+). I had the idea that it was somehow shown in the summary of the style settings that comes out in the “general” option of the “paragraph style options” menu but it doesn't seem to be so. Thank you very much.

Keeps crashing 4 or 5 times when opening indd file. After a while it works.

Inserté una flecha a través de un estilo de párrafo, cuando creo contornos la flecha no solo no se vuelve un contorno, desaparece. Pensé que tal vez era un error de la tipografia que estaba usando, lo intente con otras y pasa lo mismo. Necesito mandar el archivo en contornos a producción, alguien sabe una solución alternativa simple, ¿que no implique insertar el glifo individualmente?

OK, I insert two pages into one of my chapter drafts all the time to have a bit more room for a section ("story"). I just inserted two pages after the selected page. What's wrong with this picture?If I just hit the + button/icon ("buttcon") at the bottom twice, everything works normally. But I have been using the menu to insert two pages at a time for years. I haven't updated InDesign recently, so what changed? I just installed the latest slipstream update (20.4.1) and this still happens. A minor inconvenience with an easy workaround, but really? I guess a semicolon got left out or somethings. 

For example:My initial data for:  var valueA1=ABCDEDR; Now I perform a transformation on it:Repeat for the first digit, and the last digit. I get the following:var valueA2=AABCDEDRR; Next, mix it again.At the end, merge in a specific character, e.g. var ValueB=yesOKNO@22@ Eventually get:var ValueA3=AABCDEDRRyesOKNO@22@; Thank you very much.
