Starting today, after updating InDesign to v. 20.2.0.36. One after the other, alwayas "Automatic crash" as I close any document. Lovely.

Hello, I'm new to InDesign and following a tutorial on Text Wrapping. I'm trying to wrap the text around the image, excluding the white background.I've placed an image that I downloaded via the tutorial exercise file so I know there is nothing wrong with the image itself, but the Contour Options section is greyed out?What could be happening here?

Using MENA version of InDesign 20.2. All the RTL features are visibly there, but whenever I click the button to switch the text direction to RTL, it just flips the paragraph orientation and leaves the text direction completely unchanged. New text typed into "RTL" paragraphs is also still LTR. Have found no way around this and no one posting about this specific problem.It's required to install a whole other regional version of the app to even get access to the extremely basic feature that is RTL text, and now that I've jumped through that hoop, the feature simply isn't working. (Baffled that a "professional-level" software is designed like this.) Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I have received the following dimensions for a flyer. Trim Size: 297mm(d) x 210mm(w)Bleed: 307mm(d) x 220mm(w)Image Area: 270mm(d) x 182mm(w)Safe Area: 285mm(d) x 198mm(w)What do trim, image area and safe area correspond to in Adobe Indesign? Is trim size the overall size of the document and how can I set up the image area and safe area? Also my Indesign always rounds up the mm, I'm not sure where to change this setting? My flyer has been created in Photoshop and I was hoping to import it in Indesign as a final step. Many thanks.

Hello Everyone!  I am reacquainting myself with InDesign after a couple of years of being out the workforce.  Could someone remind me how to put the yellow part of the table in a different frame (next page over)? I've tried a couple of things including resizing the frame so the threading red plus sign square would pop up but that doesn't work.  thank you!

I have been struggling with finding a simple way to import recipes into Indesign for a cookbook. Is there some kind of plug-in that will format it correctly that will just run a script? I know there are ways to do this but they are so time consuming, hoping someone has something I am not aware of! Thanks!

Hello,I'm doing a specimen and I need to write out all of the styles of one font.I have Sans Regular, Italic, Bold, Medium etc. and I need to write them and then individually select them and change them to the style its refering to.Is there any other way to do this? For example like selecting the font and "Write out and style the family of selected font" option?It's taking way too long...Thanks!

Sir,When I am pasting unicode malayalam font (MLU-Revathi) into indesign, the symbol (ു) jumps from the preceeding letter and joints with the succeeding letter. Please view the preview image.Pleaase Solve this issue.

Hey there,I have tried to draw simple, sloppy cirles in ID today and no matter what setting in fidelity and smooth, it always came out with that unwanted "dent": The curve is round, but the stroke just won't follow. Every single time. How can I get this curved in  a "straight" manner? Wind 10, 128 GB RAM, Quadro M5000, Dual Xeon somethingsomething.

Can there be a script that makes object A the same size as object B? Here are two scenarios:The first, being a graphical object, lets A be equal in size to the target B.The second, if A is a picture and B is its caption, let B and A have two widths. The second is the most desirable, because very often the caption needs to be re-widened after the picture size is changed. It's a pain in the ass when you have a lot of them.If you choose an image and a static caption, you can have the caption quickly aligned to the image, including position and width. Hi a huge thank you to everyone here who helped me get my first book successfully to the printer. The printer advised they will edit the spine width in the PDF if needed. This is making me nervous. I exported the covers & spine from InDesign as one PDF. While I'm a newbie, I'm thinking surely it would be better for me to make any adjustments needed in InDesign and resend a fresh PDF. Or is this PDF editing by printer an ok practice?

For the last three or four weeks, when we try to update the link for a Share for Review, it crashes InDesign and throws up an Error Report window. The shared file on the Creative Cloud web only updates partially - it shows all of the comments and the updated text, but the highlights and other markers don't relocate. Everyone can still comment, but their view of the document isn't accurate. We've upgraded to 19.1 then to 19.2 since this started, but it's not fixed. And now with 19.2 , when the Error Report window opens, the Submit Report button is missing, so I can't even report the error through InDesign anymore.

I've been having so many issues with InDesign lately. The most recent issue is that I cannot export my file. This error message comes up when I try to export. It says there may be a problem with page 26, which was a blank page. I deleted the page and still cannot export. InDesign also keeps crashing. I tried uninstalling InDesign and re-installing it on my computer.  What else should I try? Thanks!

When I enter multiple lines of text in a MultilineTextEditBoxWidget, I want to be able to move the cursor up and down using the up and down arrow keys. However, currently, the cursor can only move left and right.I'm not sure if this is due to a missing parameter setting or if the MultilineTextEditBoxWidget provided by the SDK does not support this functionality. However, I noticed that in InDesign's PDF Export dialog, the multiline input field already supports this behavior.

Strange that there is no option to align to bleed(cut-offs) in the alignment panel? Is it that the officials don't think it's useful?I personally need it. What about you guys?     <Title renamed by MOD>
