InDesign

I do have the problem when i type "PJUC-1507/P"  changed to "PJUC1507-/P". But the "Convert Variable to Text" is not lighted up for me to select 😞. Unless put a space between "C" and "-"  (PJUC-1507/P) , then it shown correctly. May i know how to fix the problem, cause i done this file an year ago in InDesign.Just found this problem after i uploaded to 2025 - 20.2 version

Hi everyone, Has anyone ever encountered an issue in InDesign where a link appears as missing or needs updating, but there's no way to fix it? I can't delete it or relink it—it stays stuck with the error. Even clicking on "Go to Link" doesn’t work, nor does trying to relink it with another file. Any ideas on how to solve this? We are attempting to make 508(c) Accessible PDF file from client-suppied INDD files. They use graphics that are very complex: two or more financial charts with lots of auxiliary text. Luckily, they supply us with their own choice of Alternate Text,But my issue is getting the Alt Text to read out when exporting to an Accesible Acrobat PDF. I have tried all the permutations of the "Tagged PDF" tab; setting the "Apply Tag" to "From Structure" or to "Artifact," and pasting the Alt Text into the second Custom Text Source box.The Accessibility Check in Acrobat passes the PDF all right, but it either does not read back the Alt Text, or reads it back and all the other text in the Illustrator file.A little guidance in this would be greatly appreciated. We are working the job using INDD CS6, because our workplace doesn't have the budget yet to pay for CC subscriptions for every computer at the company. 

I need to override virtual void IControlView::Draw(IViewPort* viewPort, SysRgn updateRgn = nil); for StaticTextLabel. In this function, I need to use IGraphicsPort to draw some text with a CMYK color. However, after setting the CMYK color, the displayed color is incorrect. I suspect that it is not using the CMYK color space but instead the RGB color space.How can I draw text using CMYK colors in a StaticTextLabel inside an IDialog? Can anyone help me?

Hi,I set up a table of contents in InDesign (Layout -> Table of Contents). However, there is some extra text I want to add (highlighted in the image). As you can see, I was able to achieve this, but since it's not part of the TOC setup, it disappears every time I update the table of contents. Is there a way to set this up so that it always stays? Thank you!

I am creating an interactive PDF for a client. Now I have a layout with, for example, radio buttons with text yes/no. I have styled the buttons so that they contain the text yes/no. When I export the PDF, it looks good in preview and in some web browsers (Safari), but in PDF reader and Acrobat I just get circles with a check mark in them. So people don't know whether it is yes/no. I have already searched a lot and saw this script (https://answers.acrobatusers.com/Highlighted-Fields-forms-switched-opening-PDF-Form-created-How-this-q21870.aspx) and I have added it. However, this does not have the desired result. How can I let the client use my formatted PDF as it is formatted? Isn't this the whole point of the form functionality in InDesign that this works well?

Have several problems with interactive Indesign forms and hope the community can help (as Adobe chat can't). Firstly, I would need a button "send formular (via email)" - can be integrated, but does not work. It would be important to have this in the form as some of the interactive fields are compulsory, which is only checked when the form is send via the button. Moreover, I would like to change the design of checkboxes in Indesign, not later in Acrobat, as I want the forms after a rework to be ready made in Indesign and not to need being reworked in Acrobat. Next problem,  there is no possibility for a button in Indesign to save the form. This can only be done in Acrobat, which is odd......

Hi,  I really need help with this as I can't figure it out even after extensive google searches. Please refer to the screenshot below:I cannot edit the text in pink "iPadPro_MAG_AEEN_V2". And you can see how it appears in the layers panel - just simply as <text frame>. I can delete the whole line and add text after 'V2' but I cannot edit anything in between. Everything is unlocked on the spread.Am I missing something very obvious here?

Hello,Is there any way to retain the look of radio buttons or check boxes designed in InDesign after exporting to an interactive pdf. They always reset to the default Acrobat button styles when not in focus. I have tried it with buttons I have designed and using the sample radio buttons provided in the software and neither work.I understand what Acrobat is doing and why it is doing it, I just struggle to believe that they would include these buttons in the Interactive for PDF workspace if they don’t actually work in interactive pdfs. I am hoping I am missing something really obvious or there is a work-around.The form is nothing over the top, just a series of radio buttons and related questions. But my client wanted nicer looking buttons. Any help would be great!Thanks

Hi, I have an Indesign document with black and white images. The images have an ICC profile made like this: CMJN Fogra39 and then grey level, registered in TIF. In photoshop, images are perfect. Convert in JPEG for web, images are still nice online.But in Indesign, all images looks very dark. When I export the Indesign document in PDF for printing, and when I look at the PDF, images come back lighter. But I need as well a PDF document for web, and when I read the PDF online, images are back very dark. I've tryed many different PDF settings, but images still stay dark. What should I do ? Thanks !

What would be the simplest way to get the red arrow (when entering) to have a different leading and indent at the yellow arrow (when I shift+enter) with the same paragraph style of course

Je suis sur un MacBookPro M4 de 2025.Habituellement l'export fonctionne parfaitement lorsque je le fait sur un iMac M3 ou PC Windows 11.Je dois absolument envoyer mon fichier en impression avec ce fichier possédant les JobOptions de mon imprimeur, pouvez-vous m'aider svp ???Je vous joint ici le message d'erreur et la version de mon mac.Merci d'avanc epour votre aide !!!

I was working on a document for my job and had the most bizarre experience happen.I had a translation INDD file that was saved as a PDF. I opened the PDF and did a standard File>Export>Microsoft Word and saved as a .docx, believing it would save a separate word file. I didn't get any prompt(s) that suggested it was saving OVER the INDD file. I went to open the INDD file and it was gone?! Only the PDF and word document remain. I've scoured my files, trash bin, everything, to no avail. Is the INDD file gone for good now? Did I actually somehow save over the INDD with a word document?Please, can anyone tell me what happened and if there is a way to fix it?

Juste une liste numérotée normale, mais avec un style de numéro différent. J'aurais besoin que ça ressemble à ça, avec un joli petit cercle autour du nombre, comme ils l'ont si bien fait sur leur site.  Ça me semble tout bête, mais je ne trouve pas où modifier ce style. Merci d'avance, n'hésitez pas évidemment si ce n'est pas clair.

But  is there a way to do what I want?

InDesign crashes when I try to export to reflowable epub.I have done this hundreds of times without an issue but something is screwing things up this time.The only difference is I am pasting some text in from another indesign file of the same format.The document is a digital (ebook) file. Styles are used for all text.Appreciate any suggestions. I've tried everything I know how to do, and it still crashes. Windows 10 (up to date), latest version of ID (I also just noticed an update and did that, but the problem repeats.)Last windows Event Viewer error (data) says:MsRtfConverter.exe1.1.1.058d210a2KERNELBASE.dll6.2.19041.5553c8d669bae0434f4d000000000003b699the InDesign crash log has been removed. I can't get it to save as a text file. Any suggestions? I'll reattach as soon as it saves. I'm getting a message that it didn't match the .txt, or some such. 

Some InDesign tasks that require moving a lot of pages and graphics can take a long time. Hello everyone. I HATE the 2024 version of InDesign. Does anyone else find it to be horribly glitchy? It's like by adding AI, they ruined things that always functioned perfectly well.  I want to make the 2023 version the default, so that when I open a file it does not automatically open in 2024, but I don't want to uninstall 2024 because now I have files in both versions. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I try to remember to start new documents with the 2023 version, but sometimes when I open the file later, I forget to specify the 2023 version and then I end up saving it as 2024, and all my efforts are wasted.  Adobe developers if you happen to see this, these are the things that I find incredibly annoying about the 2024 version:1. Paragraph styles are glitchy: Sometimes when I update a font in the paragraph styles it does not update in the text and more annoyingly I can't even manually override it by highlighting the text and selecting the correct font in t

Hello, on the left I have this brilliant saturated orange #FF712E in illustrator 29.3On the right in Indesign the same orange looks off .I can't find a way to work with the same saturation.Yes I'm on Rgb on both docs.Any Idea? 

Trabajo en mac. he actualizado OS a 15.3.1He actualizado .ai y .indd a ultimas versiones y ha dejado de fucncionar bien.Antes copiaba una forma vectorial en ai y la pegaba en indd sin problemas, ahora genera decenas de cajas contenedoras, no respeta las curvas, un circulose convierte en un poliedro... Alguien sabe qué puede pasar? Alguna preferencia desactivada o simplemente es un desastre?
