Hello guys,the indesign client allows it to move a page item into a rectangle by copy it and pase with the option "paste into selection". How this behavior can be achieved by scripting on the indesign server?Thanks for the answers!

Hi! I know there were similar topics, but none of them answered. Sorry for asking again, but this is a serious issue. We develop .zxp extensions. They need to be updated from time to time. And new extension files need to be signed correctly. The problem is that ZXPSignCmd requires a .p12 file to sign the extension. It's not just another container format, the .p12 file contains a _key_ along with the signing certificate. The key is mandatory, without it you can't sign. And CAs don't seem to export signing keys anymore.For this reason: https://knowledge.digicert.com/alerts/code-signing-changes-in-2023 If there is a CA that still exports .p12 files, please let us know. It would be a lifesaver. At least for a while. But in any case, ZXPSignCmd requires PKCS#11 support. Or its successor. Or another option. The .zxp file contains a digitally signed XML file, which is a bit hard to replicate, but technically possible. I'm sure there are people skilled enough to create such

InDesign won't allow me to select text, or select any preferences. I've done an update in Cloud, and it says I have ID version 20.5.2. I've never had an issue like this. I'm using a Mac Studio Tahoe 26.2.

Hello! Opening illustrator files from InDesign, working on them, saving them and going back to InDesign. The links are all updated, but sometimes it’s leaving anomolies, like double shadows of the figure in. Friends are having the same problem, one had the cursor x/y measurements from the illustrator file appear in InDesign - which wouldn’t even have saved into the file? Anyone else had this problem?Pictures - show the x/y (illustrator on the left - inDesign on the right) and the double calendar which is most definitely not there in the illustrator file! 

I am working on making the digital version of our document accessible. The math equations were placed into the InDesign (v 21.3) document using the Math Expressions (MathML) panel. After exporting the document to PDF with the “Create Tagged PDF” option enabled and running an accessibility check, the equations were flagged for alt‑text issues. There are more than 200 equations in our document, so I am looking for an alternative to creating alt-text for each of them. What is the most efficient way to resolve this accessibility problem?

I have endnotes created in InDesign using the InDesign Endnote options. Created a PDF using Made-to-tag. When I created a PDF, I either get an error in the Acrobat Checker saying “Nested alternate text -failed” as I added Alt-text to the link-OBJR tag in the note tag, however if I do not have alt-text on this tag I get a PAC error saying "'contents' entry on an annotation exists, but is only comprised of whitespace.". How do I fix this manually in Acrobat? or in indesign?

I'm working on a product catalog in InDesign (CC) based on an Adobe template. This week I noticed that text in certain table cells had disappeared across all my saved versions. Ich bekomme die Ordnung meines Inhaltsverzeichnisses nicht richtig hin. Mein Dokument besteht aus einzelnen UND verketteten Texten. Das liegt daran, dass ich ein Word Dokument platziert habe, welches Überschriften beinhaltet, welche im Inhaltsverzeichnis auftauchen sollen. Zusätzlich gibt es einzelne Textrahmen nur mit Überschriften.Nun werden aber alle Überschriften des verketteten Textes VOR den anderen Überschriften angezeigt, obwohl diese im Dokument teils danach liegen.Kann ich das Inhaltsverzeichnis einfach nach Seitenzahl ordnen lassen? oder selbst die Reihenfolge bearbeiten?Danke!

I have a document that the client insits it has top navigation on each page, is there a way to make this accesible so the people on screen reader dont have read it every page, it is created in indesign and I know I have to fix in acrobat and I can't seem to find the answer for this. Any help appreciated

t seems like INDD files from before 2021 won't open in 2024 19.5.Or it takes a really long time to open them—that doesn't make sense.But they open in 2026; you just need to convert them to IDML and then open them in 2024 19.5.On May 19, 2024, opening an IDML file that had just been converted from 2026 also took an unbelievably long time.2026 still seems a bit sluggish; so far, 2024 19.5 runs more smoothly. What a waste of time. Is there a script that can convert older INDD files to a format compatible with 2024 19.5 with a single click?

Hi everyone,I’m working on macOS using InDesign 2023 (and I’ve confirmed the same behavior in InDesign 2026).My document contains several mathematical formulas created with MathMagic, imported as EPS or PDF files and anchored inline within the text flow. I have also tried converting them to outlines, but Acrobat's "Read Out Loud" feature doesn't recognize them.I want the screen reader to ignore the graphic/paths and strictly read the custom description I’ve entered in the Alt Text field (Object Export Options).Could you please advise on the best workflow to ensure that: These MathMagic objects are correctly tagged (e.g., as Figure or Formula) so they aren't skipped. Acrobat prioritizes the Alternative Text instead of trying to interpret the vector data. The reading order stays consistent with the surrounding text. I need to make sure the specific description I wrote is what the user hears. Any advice on the proper export settings or tagging would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

Hi everyone,since updating to an InDesign 2026 version (currently 21.0.1), I can no longer save any files. Whenever I click “Save” or “Save As,” only a completely black window appears, and I’m unable to proceed. To troubleshoot, I installed an older InDesign 2025 version (20.5) in parallel, and everything still works normally there. I have already tried the following without success:Uninstalling and reinstalling InDesignUsing the Creative Cloud CleanerDeleting the AppData foldersUnfortunately, the issue persists in version 2026. Has anyone experienced this or found a solution?Thanks in advance!

It doesn’t matter if I hand type the text or copy and paste it. I select it to create the hyperlink and when done it’s gone and sitting as overtext. My text box is plenty big enough so I don’t know why this is happening. I can do Undo but then it brings back the text without the hyperlink. 

Hallo! Ich muss für die Firma, für die ich arbeite, zwingend in der InDesign Version 19.5 arbeiten. Ich habe diese Version vom Support erhalten.  Leider kann ich diese nicht auf meinem Macbook (Mac Tahoe 26.3.1) installieren. Nach der Installation kommt immer der Fehler “missing required System Fonts or cmap Files”. Davor hatte ich macOS Sequoia aber da war es das selbe Problem. Ich darf leider nicht in einer anderen Indesign Version arbeiten. Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit, diese Version auf meinem Laptop zum laufen zu bringen?Vielen Dank! 

Hello, I am using InDesign CS6 and I want to design a Paragraph Rule that automatically starts with a Circle shape and ends with a Rectangle shape, as I have applied a specific color to the rule and need this custom look for my layout. Since the standard Paragraph Rules options are limited, could you please suggest if there is any built-in feature, a specific Stroke Style setting, or a JavaScript/JSX script that can achieve this effect so it moves dynamically with the text? If Paragraph Rules cannot support these custom shapes at the ends, I would appreciate any advice on how to automate this using Anchored Objects or any other professional workaround. Just like in the Control Panel, where font selection is filtered and suggested as you type.This feature seems to be missing in the Paragraph Styles panel, the Find and Replace Fonts panel, and the Composite Font Settings.It’s very inconvenient.I wonder if there will be improvements in version 2026.Also, it’s very inconvenient that you can’t quickly jump to the current font’s position in the font list.

We are facing an issue where package generation is triggered successfully from the application UI. payload.json files are generated correctly on the Azure VM. However, PDFs are not generated. The system does not receive proper response from InDesign Server 21.1 after processing. PDF outputs are not generated. No clear error visible in event viewer logs. We are currently blocked since the upgrade. Any insights would be helpful

 Hi,I am trying to troubleshoot a color profile issue. Here is the setup:Photoshop contains JPG - channel blend applied to remove blackI believe the color profile of the JPG is RGB:This is linked into an Illustrator file, which also contains a linked vector PDFas well as some linework.My Illustrator document mode is RGB. When I export the file using Illustrator Default, I get a PDF that looks correct:But when I link into InDesign, the colors are wrong and there is a band at the top where one of the links is offset from the artboard. My suspicion is something to do with the linked vector PDF, which shows no color space when linked in Illustrator:I have been playing around with different settings and tutorials but I am not sure how to correct this. I would be very grateful for any help with this, I am new to color profiles.
