InDesign

Hallo, ich habe beim starten von InDesign 2023 (18.0) das Problem, dass das Programm beim starten einfriert.Es gibt zunächst eine Fehlermeldung, die sofort von einem schwarzen Fenster überdeckt wird. Neu-Installation hat nicht geholfen.Das Problem tritt an mehreren Rechnern (Win 10, Win 11) auf. Allerdings nur dann, wenn der Rechner Anbindung an das Internet hat. Wenn ich die Verbindung trenne, wird das Programm einwandfrei gestartet.

I updated to the most recent version of InDesign and now my files have a severe lag time. I've noticed this happens in a few different scenarios: If open a file that was created in an older version of InDesign (even the previous version 19.4) If I start a new file in 19.5 - the program works fine. But once I start adding images into the file, anything I try to do, move, click, right click - has a 20-30 second lag time.   Is anyone else having this issue and if so - is there a way to fix this? HELP!    I need a copy of Adobe EDITIONS 2022.   Would you believe that Adobe doesn't have a copy they could give me.   Why do I need Editions 2022?  (Anything older than EDITIONS 4.5.)    My computer runs on  6 GPS.   I need 8 GPS to operate the 2024 Indesign.  So they gave me 2022.   BUT THE 2024 EDITIONS doesn't work properly.     Please help me!   If you have a copy, please message me [private info removed]   Thank you!   Richard de Montebello     <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hello!I am German and frequently travelling with my Computer to Spain. This year I am here for +60 days.All of a sudden my CS6 does not work.Yes, I know it is an old version... but I was working with it for the last 9 years. No issues ever! I have been to Spain about four weeks ago - for then already 30 days.Suddendly I had this massage comming up: I could not work with Indesign anymore.Then I went to Germany, deinstallend InDesign - took the license out of the creative cloud. Then installed Indesign newly, added the licenses - and could work without any issues... I did not have this issue during the last nine years... even when I was travelling. But I did never travel more than 30 days... Now I am back to Spain. I opened Indesign - and the whole trouble occored again. It seems I am not able to use InDesign in Spain - though I have got a valid license. I checked the license with the Adobe support - all correct. The support told me he can not see any problems with my acco

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me—I want to position a page item in the layout window, eg. in the center of the window, but preferably anywhere in the window.   Constraints are: 1. Do not disturb the layout window (or if you do, put it back exactly), and 2. Do not disturb the clipboard.   Is this possible? - Mark   P.S. I was wondering if CoordinateSpaces might extend to the layoutWindow, but it doesn't seem to. @Marc Autret I would be grateful to hear your thoughts as I know you've done a lot of work in this area.

Hey all!Apart from everything 'Adobe' being very slow and laggy on my new Mac Studio with 32 Gb ram, Indesign continues to get stuck on 'Creating PDF and IDML'.  Strangely enough there is no indication that Indesign is stick: when i force quite it doesn't show Indesign as unresponsive. Does anyone had this problem too and found a solution? thank you!

Hello, I am currently having an issue with Turkish characters in my InDesign document. When I open a new document, Turkish characters appear correctly in the Lato font, but in my current document, Turkish characters are showing as question marks. How can I fix this? Thank you.

I have some old plugins, that never will be upgraded, so I need to have the possibility running the old version of InDesign. It's running flawless on my M1 Mac with Ventura 13.5, but would like to have the new M3, that ships with Sonomera - but if that OS can't run the 2020 version, it's no good. So, does anybody know the answer to my question? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi! I'm an InDesign newbie, and I'm trying to set the space before a heading to 0p6. However, it will only let me set it to 0p8 or 0. It seems to be connected with the grid lines—the heading appears to hop from one line to another, no matter what value I set in the "space before" box. Attached is a screenshot of the heading I'm trying to adjust ("Naming"). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had set up various continuous project libraries and they always worked great. I have assets (logos in ai format) that were always transparent backgrounds. Today for some reason, all the assets have a white background (think jpeg), when I open the graphic files in illustrator, there's no background color. This is particularly more annoying that InDesign is the primary culprit.  Has anyone had anything like this happen and if so how did you correct it?

Hello everyoneI have been using Blurb for book printing for several years--never had a problem, until now: Uploaded a book, got a message from Blurb saying that they could not print the book "due to a problem printing the file".They then say "This error is occurring due to corrupt fonts that do not correctly embed in your file which is causing issues at our print partners."The fonts in question are from Adobe fonts, the book is created in inDesign. I have not noticed any problems with the fonts. They look fine to me, they print locally and inDesign preflight does not detect any problems with them. The PDF file that gets sent to Blurb also looks perfect.I have used the fonts in question before in a book printed by Blurb and they worked fine. My first thought was that this must be a problem at Blurb but I have difficulties convincing them. No surprise there.Questions:- Has anyone come across this particular problem before and- what can I do to resolve it (other than outlining or replacin

I have a document that has quite a few paragaph borders but the different paragraphs in the border aren't merging properly. I have to change one of the paragraph's styles and then undo for it to work properly. It happens on quite a few pages and I will fix it but when I scroll to another page and return the problem will be back. All I am doing is fixing the same problem over and over. Does anyone know what I can do to avoid this problem.    Please see screenshot.   <Title renamed by MOD>

I would like to easily ensure that numbers are spaced vertically and horizontally exactly the same for each entry on a list with many number.. Some steps may have more than one line, buy the number should attach to the first line of text all the same. I have anchored the images to text, but i still need a good method for spacing it without eyeballing it.  

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone would happen to know how to fix this issue. I am using InDesign and have a doube page spread. When I zoom in, the page automatically scrolls to the left. When i go to use the scroll bar at the bottom to scroll it back over right, it won't let me select it. So i'm not able to scroll horizontally, but i can scroll vertically just fine. I have been looking into how to fix it and tried everything. Changed my mouse, did CTR+ALT+SHIFT when opening, closed and opened the app, and reset my computer. What else can I try? It's only in Indesign that this happens, and not just on one file, I have opened other files to test too and it won't top doing this, thanks 

Hello, I was supposed to translate INDD files from InDesign in SDL Trados, so this file had to be saved as IDML file.Now that the translation is complete, I needed to open these IDML file back in InDesign. I discovered that some texts that I translated in Trados are missing in InDesign now.  Could it be that my options in Trados were not set well before importing the indd file before translation or should I have changed something in InDesign, please? Thank you for any advice.     

Help, I do not know how to name this error.I open an indesign document, swoosh the mouse around without clicking, and everything dissapears. If I reopen the file  - all is good. But after a year this is getting old.    

I have a list of 250 records in excel and including different images to prepare an auction booklet, all data has a typical format but different information.   is there any way that I can use data merge to have a different layout for each record, for example the first page showing the images on the right and the text on the left, the second page showing the flip of the image to have it on the left and the text on the right.   or any other suggestion to help doing so?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Ich habe folgendes Problem dass ich eine Grosse Indesign Datei habe (für Messestand) mit einzelnen Seiten die ich als Druckbogen angeordnet habe (insgesamt 5 Seiten). Die Druckerei braucht die Druckdaten jeweils als einzelne Seiten mit Beschnitt und Schnittzeichen. Wenn ich nun von dem Indesign einzelne Seiten exportiere sind 2 von den 5 Seiten fehlerhaft. Es zerreisst mir das Bild oder färbt mir das Bild einfach anders ein etc. Habe diverse PDF Export Einstellungen ausprobiert das Indesign File in 5 File aufgeteilt aber 2 PDF's sind immer Fehlerhaft. Komischerweise wenn ich alle Seiten auf einen Druckbogen rauslasse dann funktioniert es. Voll strange. Habe noch weitere solche grosse Files mit praktisch gleichem Aufbau und da habe ich keine Probleme. Habe gestern schon extrem lange rumexperimentiert und heute auch noch auf die aktuellste Indesign Version aktualisiert (19.5). Hat jemand eine Idee wo oder was das Problem ist.  THNXNakazu

Hello,    Please, may someone advise how to fix the issue with my indd app ?   Everytime I package a file, it fails, the blue process bar gets to to 50% and then it happens = the app fails, packaged folder contains only indd file, no idml file even if it was chosen to be processed. Fonts and Links folders empty ......This started like 1 month ago, I tought it is bug that will be solved soon, but the issue is still the same. / FYI - packaging in Ai is completely fine.   Device: MacBook Pro, M3. macOS: Sonoma 14.6.1.(23G93)   Thank you !   Monika   <Title renamed by MOD>

Since I use Indesign 18 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.1 I have an issue with files.When I try to link or load images that were just saved in Photoshop they appear grey the first time I open the folder; if I then open the folder again they can be opened and appear normal. Same with indd files. Opening folders two times is pretty time consuming. Anyone has the same problem / solution? Many thanks!

I have a font that is not working in InDesign on just one computer. When the font is selected the type becomes illegible like it has no width and shows only thin black verical bars at the left of the text frame that is the selection. The font works properly on other computers. Other fonts from this same series work on the broken computer.   With odd font behavior ilke this in the past we've cleared all font caches and everything was OK, but that hasn't worked for this.   I've searched the hard drive for .lst files and removed them. Also stopped the Windows font chache service and deleted the files in the "FontCache*.dat" files from the C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local and C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\FontCache folders, but nothing's helped!   We've also uninstalled and re-installed InDesign.   Other ideas would be greatly appreciated.   <Title renamed by MOD>
