InDesign

Usind latest ID version on Sequoia on two different silicon Macs (Mac Mini M4, Macbook Pro M4 Pro) – neither recognizes the GPU in Indesign (greyed out in ID Setting menu). Performance is kind of choppy as a result (I guess). Other Adobe apps, Photoshop, Illustrator, work flawlessly and recognize the GPU. Is this a known issue?   <Title renamed by MOD>

You share for review doesn’t work. There are ton of comments my clients have put on the review link but none of them are showing now.Why do you keep releasing these untested garbage features, if it can’t work at a basic level. 

Currently having an issue with my undo/history function. I seem to only be able to go back 2 or 3 commands before the entire history disappears. pls help!

When placering photos or others assets in InDesign - the software “dies”. I can still save the document, but the cursor changes into the “waiting” icon and InDesign is almost unsuable.And I have to hard reset the application (wont shut down) in Task Manager.Searching the internet and using AI I found these solutions:01 Disable Microsoft Defender (installed BitDefender instead)02 Disable GPU use in InDesign03 Delete the APP/USER/ROAMING and LOCAL folders for InDesign04 Placing the files on desktop to avoid network and cloud systems.04 Disable Adobe Fonts05 Disable Ransomeware detectNothing works… and the “funny” part is - its on two different computers! My work-pc and my home-pc.Issue has been going for months now… and it is almost impossible to work with.Have to hard reset InDesign and relaunch again - place a few assets… crash - hard reset and so on.HELP REALLY NEEDED! 

The new feature auto generates pornographic alt text in pictures it cannot seem to identify. It does seems to work ok on real photos but all complex icons have nude people and body parts described. It seems to me instead of giving a warning that it can’t identify a content it correlaties it to pornographic content. I don’t know if there was no introduction/pop-up to this new feature or if I simply missed it, but auto generating nsfw text is not okay. Why is there no filter that stops it from doing so?   

How do I set up an A5 novel? So I have my Word doc but can't seem to get the InDesign to set up properly; I can't seem to get any templates of what I need either. It's just an A5 fiction novel, about 300 pages in a Word doc. Can someone help or even make a simple template or anything...? Thanks

i created an image in 1600x2400px @150ppi and relink to a 1600x2400 web document with 50px margin, but somehow the effective ppi went down to 75 ppi. Actual ppi still remain 150. This is driving me crazy, Please help.

I have preflight set to flag images that are below 300dpi.  it works great except for one vector Illustrator file that it keeps flagging.  It’s vector, so it has no resolution?  this is the only vector image file it flags.  here are screenshots of the images, the preflight panel, and the preflight settings.  Why is it flagging this vector file as low res?

I'm having a lot of trouble with InDesign over the past couple of weeks. I have two subscriptions - one for work and one personal, using two different machines. Both are having the same issues. InDesign works for the first five minutes, then lags, tools and functions stop working - can't even undo. Freezes or crashes after that. Using Windows 11, have reinstalled, on latest version. Nothing works. Extremely frustrating and causing significant delays in being able to do my job.

Environment: Adobe InDesign 2026, Book file with multiple documents and cross-references between separate INDD files.Has anyone successfully renamed Book documents while preserving cross-reference destinations, or is there a recommended workflow for this scenario?

Egal, ob ich eine Datei per Doppelklick aus dem Windows Explorer oder über Datei-Öffnen direkt in InDesign. Die Dateien öffnen sich als “schreibgeschützt” und müssen dann immer umständlich neu gespeichert und entsprechend ausgetauscht werden. Die gegoogelten Erklärungen treffen bei mir nicht zu. Die Datei ist nicht an einem anderen Ort geöffnet, es gibt keine Log-Datei die gelöscht werden kann.

I recently expanded a font family i use regularly. At first the regular was missing, and then when reinstalled it now shows up as blank. Unfortunately everywhere it used to appear is now just a blank text box. I’ve also attempted to upload it to Adobe Fonts, and install it as a cloud font and nothing has worked.  I use the font on a day to day for very important material, so i cannot have random blank spaces

Con las últimas actualizaciones del programa, si o si y constantemente, cuando coloco, inserto una imagen en mis documentos, el cursor empieza a dar vueltas como si estuviera realizando algún proceso. No cambia, no se arregla, puedo seguir manipulando objetos y textos, pero estos no aparecen, ej, copio y pego un texto y pareciera que se realiza la acción, pero no se despliega nada.Cierro el documento y el programa se queda congelado, no se puede cerrar normalmente y tengo que resetearlo desde el administrador de tareas. Solo así se vuelve a resetear y funciona bien hasta que tengo la necesidad de colocar otra imagen y pasa lo mismo y lo mismo y lo mismo.😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

Just experimenting a bit & wondering how to accomplish this, if possible, while minimizing manually editing each time. I haven’t done a lot of tricky TOCs, but haven’t been able to figure this one out yet. Example below… Even better would be if the story title could have its own formatting automatically as well.The issue is that what’s shown here as “Author Name” is a style that has a hard return after it in the body. I assume nested styles may be the answer, so I’ll have to read up on that a bit. Any suggestions? Thanks

Boa noite a todos!Toda vez que insiro imagens dentro do meu InDesign o mouse trava no ícone de carregando mesmo que eu ainda consiga mexer e selecionar coisas dentro do programa, mas quando tento inserir texto não aparece nada, ai preciso salvar meu arquivo e fechar, fechar o programa com o gerenciador de tarefas e abrir novamente para que volte ao normal. Segue um vídeo em anexo mostrando como o programa está reagindo após inserir 6 imagens em uma página qualquer. Poderiam me ajudar? Hi i have files that i have to copy from excel to indesign but im having a problem, when i copy the text to indesign the alignment is mess up. Is there other way i can fix this without losing the alignment? Because i have to do it manually and align it using tab each.i dont want to import the excel file because i have t squeeze the text from small space. Thank you

Is there a way without using scripting, to simply take, say 10 single indesign files (all just single 3.5x2 business card layouts) and export them to a pre-defined PDF preset resulting in 10 single PDF's? (other than one at a time?)I tried a few things from Acrobat 9 pro, one of them being File/export/export multiple files/  thinking that must be the ticket, but1) I can't find my pre-defined PDF preset in the "export to dropdown list" (but thats secondary, probably can add that in somehow, right?) and2) even when I just pick PDF/a or PDF/x it starts the process, then tries to open each indd doc but a message comes up saying it can't open the INDD  file(s) and nothing was processed.Can someone help me with this?Thank you.

No puedo abrir los documentos libros (.indb) en la versión de Indesig 2026. No abre ni los archivos recién creados con esa misma versión ni archivos anteriores que antes pude hacer y ver. Manda un mensaje que el documento x.indb no se puede abrir como archivo de libro.
