InDesign

I shut down my computer because Photoshop and Illustrator stopped responding. I was working with a pretty large file. After restarting, I've been unable to launch any creative cloud apps. I tried launching from the app directly, from a file, and from the creative cloud app (didn't work because it wouldn't open). Not too sure what to do here, any help would be greatly apprciated!

Hello, I'm very pleased with the new font browser in Illustrator. I'm hoping Adobe can include this update within InDesign. It would be a super helpful tool to have across all applications! Do you think Adobe will publish this update to other programs?

Building a calendar, and it would be helpful to have guides snap to the cells for the master page to help with the placement of holidays or other special dates. This is something I would think it would already do, but nah.

I recently downloaded Lucida Console from adobe fonts on my home computer, but when i downloaded the same font (still listed as just "Lucida Console") on my work computer,  it showed up in InDesign as "Lucida Console W1G". I understand this means it has broader language support,  but it's a problem, since the same font is now registered differently across devices, and I would have to replace it every time i open my document on a different device.  Does anyone know why this happens, or how to fix it?Thanks

I have most of my fonts set to Futura PT. However, every time I open documents at work, the fonts convert to Gotham and Myriad. So I change it back to Futura and save it. That said, when I open the document again, it changes the fonts again. It drives me crazy. How do I just keep it to the Futura font? I don't use Paragraph/Character styles since these documents have multiple different sizes and weights of Futura, so it doesn't really benefit me to use set sizes/weights in something like a Paragraph style. That said, I believe its related to what is causing this issue. Please advise!  

Hi. I'm working with InDesign 2026. I want to add a specific character at the end of every paragraph (see example). I don't know what is better: a nested style? A GREP style?

can't seem to find the blur options in indesign, didn't use it in a whileanyone can help??i'm looking for the blur options that make the object look as it's flying...

hopefully someone can help, on my old pc (right picture) when i click set up i get that white box with the printers and other stuff i.e prefrences which i want but on my new pc (left image) when i click set up i get this adobe indesign 2026 - print page, which i don't want, i want it like my old pc is, any ideas on how to fix this? 

Short question - does InDesign now also have a dimensioning tool like Illustrator? 🙂

I have a script ready that pushes a report to the folder as a text file.    But want it to use the InDesign document name in the dialog - at the moment it shows Untitled.   It's not critical, but how do I get the filename into the output file automatically?    Any ideas?

can i install indesign on chromebook?

I have a series of documents to translate and one is in arabic, I can not find how to make a bullet on the right hand side. I can not install a ME version anymore and I can not work out how to make all the options in para panels appear. Please help.

I am trying to recover layers that were hidden in a file when it was saved as INDCC. Does the INDCC file format compress the file and delete hidden layers? I am missing 8 layers that were hidden in a document that contained various langauge translation. Thanks!

Is anyone having an issue with packaging files. I keep getting this error since i updated to the latest version. I have tryed packaging to my desktop but I still get the same issue

I am having issues importing jpegs with clipping paths in inDesign 2026.  Normally when i import these files in inDesign 2025 they would automatically clip the jpeg for me, but when I drop these images into 2026 they keep their white backgrounds. I have tried using the import dialogue box, and when showing additioanl options, the photoshop clipping path option is greyed out. I have tried images that worked in the 2025 program so I know it's not an issue with the images. I have also tried using the automatic clipping path but it doesnt recognise the path and is not perfect.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and can fix this? I know I can export images from photoshop as png's, but I have a lot of images and dont want to crop and export them again. Thanks in advance

Since last Update last week, the Find/Replace Font menu just got extremely slow, and it  stucks a lot 

When I try to open my Indesign file on my desktop I get a error message and am unable to access the file. When I try to open the file from creative cloud it simply will not open. What should I do? Error:Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents.

I have a very large book to complete - and to avoid a lot of very detail re-formatting i want to import the formatted text then have a paragraph style which only changes specific paragraph style things without altering the all the other formatting... i cant seem to do this! can someone exaplin what im doing wrong? Example - the text is pre-formatted to times new roman, with various words bold, italic, bold italic, there are end-notes in superscript, dates with superscript 'th' etc lots of detailed formatting already present. I can create a character style and leave all the formatting options blank except for perhaps the point size and use that to change the entire texts point size no problem...  but if (for example) i want to create a paragraph style so i can select parts of the text that are quotes and indent it left/right, but change nothing else... i cant? as in the paragraph styles box i have to specify 'basic character formats' and cannot leave it blank. so whe

We use additional software (EasyCatalog) to design catalogs for a client. However, the license for this software is only valid until InDesign 2023. Unfortunately, Creative Cloud doesn't allow installation of versions older than 2024. I used an installation file from another source, which worked for a year. Now, however, I'm getting a warning that this version will be deactivated because it's not official. I chatted with customer service, and they couldn't provide me with an older version. They suggested I ask here if anyone happens to have an older installation file. That would be very helpful. I find it very concerning that Adobe restricts the availability of older versions like this, as it could also lead to incompatibility of plugins and similar components in other applications, rendering older creation data worthless.

Hello,I run into a systematic error since I migrate to InDesign 21.0: when opening a converted 2026 InDesign document, if I try to right click on an object and select Hyperlink / Edit... the application crashes systematically. I have tried to uninstall, clear my preferences (I'm using MacOS)... I also tried from a different MacBook and it's causing the error each time. Therefore I cannot edit my links. And I cannot downgrade back to 2025 since this option is not given to me. Should I open InDesign 2025 and open the previous version of my document and accessing the Hyperlink Edit menu: no issues! So the problem is with InDesign 2026. Any idea on how to fix this or work around it? My document is in 2026 format and I cannot open it using an older version of InDesign unfortunately. Thank you! Best,Julien

Hi everyone.I have CS2020, CS2025, and CS2026 installed on my computer.Sometimes I prefer using CS2020 in InDesign because it feels faster, but when working in Photoshop standalone, I prefer CS2026.Is there a way to use a script to always open images in CS2020 within InDesign?Thank you
