Lightroom Classic

So when I get a photo from Lightroom Classic and "Edit in Photoshop", do my edits there and Save the final product in a completely different folder and drive, it automatically adds it to the original Collection that the original photo came from. How can I prevent this? Any help would be appreciated. 

Hi there! I’m reaching out because I’m stuck on a small issue that I can’t seem to resolve. I’ve been using Lightroom CC since the beginning of my photography journey, and I’ve been a huge fan since it’s cloud-based, allowing me to share and view photos from any device. As my photography business grew, I started using Lightroom Classic for larger volume jobs and to take advantage of the plug-ins available for my software. I want to maintain a seamless connection between the two programs. When I click the sync button in the top right corner of Classic, it syncs my entire Lightroom CC library to my current catalog in Classic and downloads all the cloud files onto my computer, resulting in a massive file size. I’m wondering how I can sync my catalog once I’m done with it so that I can continue to use it in Lightroom CC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My LR was running much slower today so I checked the Performance tab and found this: So I checked the NVidia control panel and found LR not optimized. I optimized it, restarted LR and problem was not solved (and the control panel reverted to not optimized. I clicked the "System Info" button and got this:I have reset Preferences (which didn't help), checked for broken 3rd party plug-ins (no help). I also tried disabling the on-board display adapter which didn't help: Now when I click the System info button in LR, the error doesn't appear.Jim

My toolbar at the bottom of Lightroom has slid to the right, and I can't see all the photos completely. Does anyone know how I can get it back to how it was before so everything is visible? I've attached a picture; I hope someone can help me. I've tried many things and I can't fix it.  

I store all my photos to an EHD. I want to back up to a second EHD. How do I do that? (preferably using Lightroom Classic.)

I could use some help.  I also do not know very much about LrC, so please be kind.  I am a basic user (and could use a class on how to use LrC more in depth).  I have some photos I want to export, but it keeps getting hung up (see photo).  I can wait forever and it doesn't change.  I have tried to export each photo one by one, and some will go and some will get stuck.  I am not sure why some photos are causing this vs. others going.  They are all .jpg photos (no .mov and no .heic photos).  Can anyone give me advice on what to try?  I am updated to the latest firmware for LrC and my Mac OS.  Thanks. 

If I select people masking in LrC 15.0.1 and then opt to make several masks thereunder such as face, body skin, clothes etc. any subsequent edits are simultaneously applied to every people mask despite having selected only one to work on. I'm working on a Mac Studio M2 Max with 64 GB ram and everything is up to date. Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix?

I have a very large catalog that I work from (71k files) and though I have a relatively fast system with lots of storage, some LR procedures are rather slow. Now though, my keywording has been giving me problems with addiing a new keyword. I have been trying to create a Calendar 2026 keyword ( I already have previous year Calendar keywords) , but when I try to create this new keyword, it will arbitrarily place it under another keyword (Wildlife, Birds various and so forth). While attempting various work arounds, LR seemingly erased ALL of my keywording - hundreds of them. I did not, in any way that I could see, trigger that action. It would be an immense loss to me if it cannot be easily corrected. I do have external hard drive backups, but because my files are spread around various disks in a way that I only vaguely understand ( my son has been my computer builder), I am not certain that I could put the whole agglomeration back together from the external disk. After version 15, the transition between photos is very slow. I changed the GPU to a modern RTX 5060 and the problem persists. My PC is a Windows 11 with a Ryzen 7 5770x processor and 46GB of RAM. I've already searched this community for solutions, but none of the ones presented here worked. But the most absurd solution was Adobe asking me to downgrade to version 14. A real rip-off. And there's no estimated time for a fix for this bug. A billion-dollar company that hasn't been able to solve the problem for over 40 days. I currently have over 2500 photos to edit (graduation).

I don't know when this started, I just noticed today. When I am finished with a project/folder, I close LR and I move the folder to an external hard drive. When I open LR again, it's greyed out so I find the missing folder on the drive, and it then the folder correctly shows up under that dropdown for the drive.  This has worked for years.  Today I did that again--the folder had been moved earlier to the drive, and today I opened LR. I found the missing folder, and then, the drive shows up in the folders list, as if, it's brand new in LR. I think, wait a minute, all of the years of folders should be there too. The files are on the drive, all the photos are there when I open the Windows explorer, but it's like the catalog doesn't recognize them anymore.  I start going through the backups; unzipping, and opening all the old catalogs (and bacause of the recent LR update, all of the catalogs have to be updated. Hi, I'd like an answer from an Adobe employee i.e. someone who can represent the company. I have been absent from photography and post-processing for some time, but I am intending to get back into these.  I own Lightroom 6, and I am happy to move to Lightroom 15 and the subscription model.   BUT I do not want to lose what I own i.e. Lightroom 6. How can I install Lightroom 15 without overwriting Lightroom 6.  The intent here is that if I ever feel the cost of Lightroom subscription is rising irrationally for a hobbyist photographer, I can move to another tool such as PhotoLab but still edit my pre-install-Lightroom-15 photos in Lightroom 6. Thanks for your help,Alan

When opening a .mov my LR Classic crashes.  It has been happening off and on.  I've tried rebooting my MAC and sometimes it works and other times it does.  I'm on LR 14.5.1 and OS Tahoe 26.1 .  I have sent report to Adobe but haven't had any response back.

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with the Lightroom Classic catalog backup process.Even though the catalog works normally during editing, every time I try to back it up, Lightroom fails to complete the backup and shows an error. I use lightroom on windows 10 and have a gpu with 12GB vram.  This is still no match for the AI blur tool.  The buffering, loading, and almost crashing is horrible and as slowed my workflow down to a screetching hault at times.     My drivers for the GPU are up to date, and so is LR CC.  Why is this happening?  This is such a poor experience.   I'm not even editing on 4k monitors either. 

Recently I mistakenly deleted a folder of photos from LRC. I had a copy of the same folder on a separate external drive, so I imported the same photos from that drive as I had deleted. Now, however, the keywords are missing. Did I do something wrong? Is there a way to retain keywords in a situation like this? For what it's worth, if anything, I use LRC on a Mac. My main photo library and backup library are on separate external drives and I create the backup using Finder to drag folders from my main library to the backup drive. I used the LRC import feature to put the photos back into my library. Thank you. 

Why is Lightrom Classic not compatible on my macOS Monterey? I'm told to update to macOS Sonoma, but my Mac can't update anymore.

Shortly after opening LRC the welcom screen disappears as normal. Then the small LRC window appears with several pictures in the film strip. The wheel of death continues then "Not Responding" message appears. The drivers and Windows apps are all up to dayte. LR has not problem loading and opening. Thank you in advance.
