Lightroom currently allows Smart Collections to filter the contents of regular Collections, but not the results of another Smart Collection.Example:Smart Collection A:Camera Serial Number = X Filename contains YSmart Collection B:Source = Smart Collection A Folder contains “2603”This currently does not work, even though the exact same setup works when Smart Collection A is replaced by a regular Collection.Supporting Smart Collection → Smart Collection filtering would eliminate duplicated rules, simplify complex workflows, and make large archives significantly easier to manage. The current workaround is to create a regular Collection and continuously copy the contents of a Smart Collection into it. This feels like an inadequate solution to a problem Lightroom should be able to solve natively. It also introduces unnecessary maintenance and creates additional opportunities for user error, especially in larger workflows with multiple collections.
Would love it if my Lr Mobile and Browser would mimic the organization that I’ve set up in my LrC collections. Moving images and albums around in Mobile and Browser is cumbersome, practically impossible, frankly. I only use Mobile and Browser to share albums, or to show images from my phone when away from my computer. I find they are difficult to find in Browser or Mobile once synced, and manually organizing them in browser or mobile is way too many steps.
Lightroom Classic versjon: 14.4 Operativsystem: Mac OS 15 As of this new version I am not able to denoise a batch of photos, only individual ones. Can't find any guidance as to how this can be fixed. Hope you can help me, thanks.
Several of my folders have images that were imported and now are not showing up. For example, a folder in my lightroom catalog says I have 334 images when the folder actually has 350. If I choose import, it shows I have no new photos. When I go to Synchronize folder, it tells me 16 are missing and when I hit import in the Sync dialog box, it says no new photos are there. Pulling my hair out. I have deleted preview.lrdata file, reset preferences, expanded stacks, and tried all the suggestions in previous posts about this problem. HELP. thanks.
I have some old collections in LrC that were put on 500px using their now-defunct Publishing Service. I’d like to delete them, but I can’t. And I can’t reinstall the publishing service because when I do, 500px doesn't return a login code, because the plug-in is no longer supported. Any thoughts on how to get rid of these published collections if the original publish service is unavailable? Thanks.(Just trying to de-clutter my library...)
Currently, Lightroom automatically reorders rules after saving and reopening a Smart Collection. This destroys the visual structure created by the user and makes complex collections significantly harder to read and maintain. For example, I often group rules like this:Photographer ACamera Serial Number 1 Camera Serial Number 2 Camera Serial Number 3Photographer BCamera Serial Number 1 Camera Serial Number 2Photographer CCamera Serial Number 1After saving, Lightroom rearranges the rules by field type, making it impossible to see which camera serial numbers belong to which photographer. Please preserve the user-defined rule order exactly as entered. In addition, Smart Collections would greatly benefit from organizational tools such as:Rule groups or sections Collapsible categories Visual separators User notes/comments Labels for groups of rulesComplex Smart Collections are often used as production tools and can easily contain dozens of rules. Without organization features, they quickly beco
I am using Lightroom Classic and I have a storage issue.Whenever I import photos into Lightroom or export them as JPEGs, it seems that copies of the files are being stored on my computer's internal drive. I would like to avoid this because my internal storage fills up very quickly. Some time ago, I copied all of my camera photos from the memory card directly to an external hard drive, and I want the original files to remain there. When I export photos as JPEGs, I also want those JPEG files to be saved directly to the external hard drive. My goal is that no photo files are stored on my computer's internal drive at all—only on the external hard drive. How can I configure Lightroom Classic so that both the original photos and the exported JPEGs are stored only on my external hard drive and nothing is saved on my computer's internal drive?
Hello,I use command+L a lot to switch quickly between filter on and filter off (especially when deleting photos).Again, after some time it happened, that it stopped working to turn filters on. No matter which filter I use (preset or manually), command+L only works one more time to turn filters off. Second command+L does NOT work to turn filters on again. Every following command+L shows “Library Filters Off”.When this happened before, AI told me (after trying many changes in settings and restoring files) to restore an old Lightroom catalogue. This worked then, and I did so because I did not loose many changes and hoped, the error would never occur again. But today, the idea of going back to an old catalogue causes sweat and tears. Why is the ability to switch between filters on/off stored in the catalogue? The above described solution can not be the only one! How can I get to turn on and off filters (with command+L or by using the menue) to work again as intended? It is too time consuming
Since Lightroom 15.3 update sometimes when I am going through photos in Develop mode photo wont switch, it switches on filmstrip but not on main window so I need to go back and forth for it to refresh. Same problem on 2 different computers, only fix is downgrading to 15.2. I dont know if its a catalog bug or not but my catalog is not corrupted, I tried optimizing it, changing integrity, disabling gpu acceleration. Anyone experienced same problem? It's really annoying and time consuming.EDIT: title should say stuck, sorry for that. Cant change it now.
I need help fixing a problem I cause moving photos from one folder to another. I had two folders, Lightroom Photos and Guy’s Lightroom photos. They seem redundant so I dragged the photos, in Lightroom, from the Guy’s Lightroom Photos folder into the Lightroom Photos Folder and then I remove the empty Guy’s Lightroom Folder. Now, when I open the catalog and go the Lightroom Photos folder, all the photos are there but the chronological file system is gone. I have one big group of 14,000+ photos. When they were in the Guy’s Lightroom Folder the were saved under Year/Month/Day/Capture Time. I’ve lost that. Is there a way to created that structure to where I moved the photos in the Lightroom Photos folder? I’m completely confounded by this situation.
Can you please add the ability to allow “Shot Name” as a token in the filename presets within the Tether Capture Settings? It’s possible to change the Shot Name as you shoot, which is great especially when doing headshots or products - but there is no method of including that in the filename during tethering. It should be easy to implement - if it can create a folder from the shot name, there shouldn’t be any difficulty in allowing it in a filename either.Thanks.

I’m trying to understand whether this is a bug, a regression, or an intentional workflow change.Until recently, I distinctly remember being able to use Lightroom Classic’s HDR workflow and choose Edit In > Photoshop, with the file opening in Photoshop as a 16 Bits/Channel HDR file using an HDR Rec. 2020 / PQ-style workflow. This preserved HDR headroom while still allowing normal 16-bit Photoshop layer operations and creative blending modes such as Overlay, Soft Light, Linear Light, etc. Now, when I send an HDR image from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop, it opens as a 32 Bits/Channel document. That does preserve HDR luminance information, but it disables many important layer blending modes and tools, which breaks a lot of normal compositing/retouching workflows. The confusing part is that Lightroom Classic 15.0 release notes mention updated External Editing support for exporting images to Photoshop in “16-bit or 32-bit HDR formats,” with support for HDR sRGB, HDR Rec. 2020, and HDR Disp
I have 90,000 photos & I have to highlight the most recent edit in history ,then the the most recent edit stays highlighted & and the thumbnail is displayed correctly- but i have to do this 90,000 times- is there a better way no apply it to all photos instead of hitting the enter button 90,000 times
Got a new XPS 15 to replace my old XPS 15. Newer graphics cards, more memory, yet AI Denoise takes an INSANE 45 minutes to render, sometimes more. Even on the old (8 years) computer, it never took more than maybe 5 minutes. What in the world is going on? Any help is tremendously appreciated.
Description of Issue:In the Develop module, when viewing photos imported from a Canon R5 with the RF 24-105 F4 lens, sometimes when moving from one photo to the next, Lightroom Classic continues to display the previous photo. In the Develop module, make sure that the Lens Corrections panel has "Enable Profile Corrections" turned on and "Remove Chromatic Aberration" enabled for these photos.3. In the Develop module, move through the photos one by one using the arrow keys or by clicking on the next thumbnail in the filmstrip.4. Scroll slowly through the sequence until the issue occurs.Expected Res
So since 2 days ago, every time I try to apply a preset I get this pop-up saying “Some AI models are downloading. Please try again later.” that stays stuck at 0% and doesn't move.I saw one of the possible fixes may be to log out and back in, but when trying to log out I also get an error, the one in the attached picture.I've tried restarting my computer and router, changing firewall/antivirus settings, running as administrator, reinstalling LrC, and none work.It seems like all of a sudden LrC can’t recognize that I am connected to the internet.Does anyone have any other potential fixes? Thank you.
The entire catalogue of photos is greyed out with three dots in the top right hand corner. It’s happened on two catalogue’s but others are fine. What can I do to bring back the preview image? When I click on each individual one it opens but I need to see the previews so I can batch edit
Running 15.3.1 and exported JPEGs are missing the caption. Other metadata is there. Can’t see it in Get Info as normal, and when trying to burn the caption using a watermarking app the caption is missing. This is a massive bug.
Feature Request: Dedicated Processing Queue for Image processing and Background TasksIdea/SummaryIntroduce a dedicated, interactive Processing Queue panel in Lightroom that allows photographers to manually queue images for various purposesResource-intensive operations —such as AI Denoise, Lens Blur, AI Masking, Upscaling (Super Resolution), and background exports—and manage them in priority order using context menus and dedicated keyboard shortcuts. When there are 100’s/1000’s of images and I would like to process in a queue - would like this process. This can be manual editing or Resource intensive operations, or a mix of both. The ProblemApplying heavy AI operations (like AI Denoise) or triggering large exports forces immediate processing or utilizes a rigid, automated background sequence. This frequently bogs down system performance, causing lag in the Develop module when trying to move to the next image. There is no way to quickly "save heavy processing for later" or pause/reorder
So when editing photos and trying to save edits to several photos at once, the crop sign is blanked out...like it is dimmed and cannot be turned on or off so it is cropping all my photos! Also when editing, these stars are showing up and it is taking so much longer to edit. What is going on?? Biggest issue is the crop.
With an upgrade to version 12.1 LR has become painfully slow to the extent that it cannot be used. It takes around 50sec to start, 20-40 sec to open Preferences, 20-30 sec to go from photo to photo, tethering maybe does 1-2 photos than hangs, etc. When LR is started it literally draws the tools pallete one by one - each one takes like 3-5 sec. Happened with upgrade. Nothing was installed (nor software nor hardware) in between updating from 12.0.1 which ran normally to 12.1. Ok first to mention what I´ve already tried: - reading all the threads about this in the forum and tried all the solutions like:- turning GPU OFF: no effect (might be even slower) - absolutely latest version of GPU drivers (tried Gaming and Studio edition of drivers), Windows updated- resetting the preferences (manually and automatically, deleting old pref files, RAW defaults, etc) - all plugins are disabled (at the moment Mogrify is ON but tried with that one OFF also) - turned the antivirus and malware protection O
