When importing photos, Lightroom Classic sees to card, but only pictures on one of them. Then copy the pictures ad try to sync the catalog. Same problem. LR read raw cr3 from canon R5, but not dng files from DJI Mavic2 pro! What to do?
:I can't open Lightroom CC on my MacBook Pro M1 Max 64gb ram 4tb hard drive
When importing images (I shoot Nikon D800 and D850 with Nikon lenses), lightroom will not identify the lens correctly. The import shows up as a generic lens:import will be 24.0-120.0 mm f/40 Correct is:Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VRThere are a small amount of images that have the correct information in the catalog. If I look at the EXIF data from a sample of two files, one that is correct and one with the generic name, both have the correct information. HOWEVER, comparing the xmp files is not. The DSC_9863.xmp file is the one that works and the DSC_9729.xmp is the one that is the generic name. This has been a pain in my backside for a LONG time and I hope someone has some suggestions.
When importing Leica M11 DNG files using Adobe Default (as shown in the Preferences / Presets -- Global setting) Adobe Standard is applied as the Profile instead of Adobe Color. When I create and specify a Preset which specifically uses Adobe Color as the Profile, Adobe Standard is still applied. If I specify to use Camera Setting, then the embedded M11 profile is correctly applied. As a work-around, I can indeed force the Adobe Color profile to be applied if I specify it as the Apply During Import - Development Setting (right-hand panel when importing) and select under the Defaults presets - Adobe Color + Lens or similar. I tried a trial subscription in the hopes this would speed my workflow. Currently I edit real estate photos, then export, then edit in Nano Banana to replace skies or create twilight images. Then I download, rename and export the finished file.I was happy to see that I can now transfer the file to Firefly, and assumed I could return the edited file to LR Classic, as in PS. But, no I still have to download, rename and export. So, the time saving is negligible and the true cost is unknown because of the annoying credit system.WILL WE BE ABLE TO directly return edits to Lightroom?
Hey there, currently I'm trying to improve my understanding of the RAW development pipeline in lightroom and Camera raw. I am interested in the order of adjustments that are made to an image if I adjust the sliders. Not in the recommended order that people suggest for their workflow to be efficient, but in the order they are implemented in lightroom by adobes software engineers. In Adobes dng format documentation for developers I found that white balance is applied first to an image before it comes to exposure, contrast and so on. For all other adjustments the order is not given. Contrast can be adjusted using the contrast slider and also using the luminosity tab in the tone curve. Since these adjustments are not linear it makes a difference in which order they are applied. I can emulate this process in photoshop if I apply two adjustment layers to a photo, 'Brightness/Contrast' and 'Curves'. If I switch their position the outcome will differ in general. So also in light
When an image is leveled, the crop tool's boundaries are restricted to the rotated canvas to avoid empty corners. However, if I try to expand the crop rectangle toward an area where there is still room, it gets blocked by the opposite edge that has hit the canvas limit. It would be a great improvement if the crop rectangle could automatically shift or slide along the boundary so it can be expanded into the available space, utilizing all available pixels without needing to manually reposition the corner or center handles.
hola, el LR en el dia de hoy no funciona? no puedo editar ninguna foto. cuando se solucionara el problema? la actualizacion se hizo hace 16 dias
Hello Dears, I have a problem with synch. Last night I tried to synch with 493 photos. Most of development setting was Ok but some of ones missing and/or not correct. For example; linear mask starting point, color adjustment and crop position are different some photos.I tried remove all 492 photos in lightroom and called again. I kept original one which is modified than I tried synch but no change. Issue still there. Is there anybody to face same situation and know solution. I’m using creative cloud desktop version. Thanks in advance for your help.
This starting a couple of weeks ago after working fine for probably the past 6? months. After opening LrC I plug in my card reader, go up to “FILE” > “IMPORT FILES AND MOVIES”. I am not seeing my card reader in the list. ??LrC ver 15.4.1Windows 11
I am using an Apple studio computer. In both the Library Module and in the film strip, when selecting a file, the next file is also selected. When trying to scroll through the other pictures in the folder, it only scrolls between the selected two files. This problem started after updating to the latest version of Lightroom Classic. I can only advance by using my mouse to click the next file. Then it will also select the file next to it.Does anyone else have this problem. If so how did you fix it?
How do I get Lightroom to write the metadata directly into the original jpgs?In my Lightroom catalogue are two folders with images from my smartphone (Pixel 9 Pro). One contains the original jpgs plus dng raw files of some of those images. The second folder holds images edited on my phone with Snapseed. I use Lightroom to edit the keywords and filenames. If I add keywords to a Snapseed edited photo those keywords are immediately written into the jpg image but if I do the same for an original photo the keywords are stored in a xmp file. Even if I manually ask Lightroom via right click Metadata > Write Metadata to file all I get is a xmp sidecar.
In Lightroom it is impossible to edit a photo as much as we want or need, using Masking regardless of the hardware you have.EXPLANATION Let's say you want to edit a photo with Masking to your heart's content OR because you need to change many aspect of the photo.Logic tells you "we have Masking so obviously it's possible to do masking safely and as much as I want"Reality is that in Lightroom Classic there is an "upper limit" of local edits that we can have on a photo: once we reach that "upper limit" the photo will be be reset. So in Lr it's not possible to sue Masking as much as we want/need.Usually if you have lots, lots of edits on an image other editing software struggle and get progressively slower and slower (if one has powerful hardware generally slowdowns don't happen or appear later) but in LR a photo can reach a point where it's no longer editable and it will be reset NO MATTER THE HARDWARE YOU HAVE. All Masking tools (gradients, sp
Hello everyoneMac OS and latest LRCI messed up some file names and had to delete all the photo folders and restore them from a backup. Now I have constant issues starting LRC. It gets stuck at Reading Preferences and will not load. I uninstalled it (except preferences) and reinstalled it, and still have an issue. It looks like it did not install a new default catalog in my pictures folder, so I don’t know what the installation situation is. I did get in tonight once before un- and reinstalling, but when I exited, I could not get in again. I keep my Lightroom settings with the catalog.I really want to keep all the edits to all my photos, but do not care about other preferences as I assume I can reset them as needed. Any idea what I need to do?Uber frustrated…John
On MacOS the Lightroom Classic Rendering Area appears to show a non-Retina rendering on a Retina screen. The pictures looks pixelated and so does the brush. Every other UI Element has its normal retina sharpness. Please pay attention to the guitar strings. You can clearly differentiate the pixels. Also the brush shows jagged pixels on the lines. The issue appeared with an update in 2025 and has never been fixed since.
Hello there,I am syncing certain Albums in Lightroom Classic to the cloud and some of them have become too big and since I do not need all the smart previews stored locally all the time I deleted them to save space on my computer. But now these pictures are simply shown as not available when my server (where they are stored) is not connected even though these albums are in the cloud – so with Lightroom CC on my Mac, Lightroom on my iPad or even any browser I can still edit these pictures – obviously because they’re stored as smart previews within the Adobe Cloud. But only Lightroom Classic acts like it does not have access to it and needs the originals or at least needs locally stored smart previews to edit or even view these pictures without the original files… is that some kind of bug or am I not getting it?
I feel I have followed all steps on importing.
Whenever I want to launch/ open Lightroom on my mac OS the icon pops up briefly in the toolbar before disappearing. I updated the computer software, uninstalled and reinstalled the app from Adobe Creative Cloud, did the shift + option combination, gave full disk access, but the problem remains. As a photographer, this is VERY problematic in this high season.. HELP! Screenshot here
Was läuft hier falsch?
when trying to use presets I'm getting the error saying some AI models are downloading please try again later. This is making the program unusable.
Let's say I want to make an 800-pixel jpeg from a DNG file. I have created an export User Preset that sends this file to a subfolder titled 800. However, the export process creates two files: one that sits in the original folder, and one that properly goes to the 800 folder. Is there a way to prevent this duplication? I don't remember this being the case, a few months ago. (I was away from Lightoom CC for a while). I'd rather not have JPEGS (for instance) in my folder of DNG files. Mac Mini M4 Sequoia 15.5. Thanks for any help.
It would save a lot of time if you could paste copied settings and the Auto edit on lighting process at the same time instead of having to go through each photo one at a time after you've pasted your edit settings.
I have over 780 drone footage clips in Lightroom, meticulously cataloged. I wanted to export them after the photos to upload them to our new online photo library (useless for tagging but essential for sharing and access control). And surprise: not a single keyword was included. I discovered that Lightroom doesn't export them, and the plugin I found doesn't work. All we can do now is wait for a Lightroom update so we can use and share our footage, because recataloging it via the online tool would be far too time-consuming and risky to attempt.
