Hi all, I’ve used LR for a long while. In the past I found the program to be very responsive and user-friendly. Since the paid subscriptions came in it is gotten slower, laggy and prone to bugs. New install or old about the same. Currently trying to do the final edits on some photos with basic edits. I can count the second between selecting a crop and it executing (6 seconds), then more seconds (6-8 seconds) before I can move on to the next photo. New or old catalogue, not much different Preview size does not seam to do much Cache purge no difference. If fact it purges nothing. Had to navigate to the folder and clear myself.. Loading the Preference screen is sooooooooooooooooooo slow too. Cannot use GPU acceleration as I can only edit 1 photo before it breaks. My system is OK; LR, Nvidia and windows 10 all patched and up-to-date. Ryzen 3700X 32 GB Ram RTX3070 OS on a 466GB drive Catalog on another SSD. Has Adobe quietly stopped supportin
HiI recently had a shoot where I used a black background and a black cloth on floorThe b blackground is always black in photos, but the floor, is lighter and I see wrinkles..1. How do I change the background to be black (turn black down) and then the gray make it look smooth with no wrinkles, so it looks like the two separate colors? Is it possible in LrC or should I use Ps? Will Lightroom Classic ever be able to process NEF files? If not, is it recommended that Nikon users just drop their subscriptions???
Issue: Curve adjustment does not work properly. Small adjustment control point jumps erraticaly. Lightroom Classic version: 13.2OS and version: MacOs Sonoma 14.3 Expected result: Lightroom Classic should do more precise adjustment of the control point.Actual result: Lightroom Classic does not allow for precise adjustment.
Hello I am in Australia and have thoursands of Australian Bird photos in my Lightroom LrC that are not keyworded with the name of the bird. I am after a plug in that I can choose a bird in my Lightroom (or from an external library) ie magpie it will then search throught my images and add Australian Magpie to the images it finds that look like the Magpie. Any ideas? Thank you
Hi,I've had this issue for a long time now. I often make Virtual Copies of my PSD files so that I can give them a colour tweak in LRC before printing. However, I notice that if I make another edit to the original in PS, then the Virtual Copy's thumbnail doesn't update, despite leaving my Mac on overnight or restarting. If the Virtual Copy is created and never edited in LR, then its thumbnail updates just fine! It also decides to update if I edit it some more in LR and then return to grid view. It's like the Virtual Copy either needs to be competely untouched or edited a few times for it to receive updates from its original. Just one edit is too much/not enough. It's driving me insane.... I've attached a video to show how the Virtual Copy that already had a Quick Develop edit only updates once I've cropped it. LRC 13.3My Mac is a MacBookPRO M1 chip Sonoma 14.5, but this happened on my old 2015 laptop too.
When I apply lens blur using the lens blur module, the colours and contrast in my image change. It's glitchy and I can sometimes get the colours back by zooming in our out, toggling before/after view, changing from D to E module, or going into the crop tool. But it usually reverts again, and when I export the images to harddrive or Smugmug the colours are not what they should be. Would appreaciate any help, with this error I can't use the lens blur module!
I know that Adobe people keep an eye on this forum and, while, I'm not exactly a dedicated reader, things like this tend to go unsaid. You deserve a standing ovation. These new features you've introduced—and that seem to keep coming—are terrific! I haven't tried the object removal tool yet but if it works well, it will be the grand slam that clears the bases you've already loaded with Denoise and all the rest. My computer doesn't seem to be too fond of all these power hungry AI devices but such is life in the big city. The difference in my photos is absolutely visible and the change is not subtle. My compliments! Excellent work!
After upgrading to Lightroom Classic 13.1, the app is not returning to the last edited image after restarting a specific catalog. In fact, it returns to the same image everytime. This has been going on for quite some time now and its really irritating. I have tried both resetting my preferences as well as moving the "-v12" files out of the same folder as the "-v13" files, to no avail. I just recently updated to 13.3 which didn't change anything as well. Any other ideas out there?
I'm pretty new to Lightroom, and not real savvy on computer innards and requirements. I've found these laptops that are within my budget ($700 or less). Which one would be best? FYI screen size and resolution are not a concern as I will mostly be using a separate monitor. Also, any other suggestions of other laptops within budget are appreciated. The choices:https://a.co/d/hHVkBm6https://a.co/d/772DURShttps://a.co/d/4rhpDNWhttps://a.co/d/hdoNxYyIf none of these are up to the task, two questions: What features (minimums) should I be looking for and what is a realistic budget? This is for hobby only, not a pro. Thanks!
I cant figure out why its doing this. Works just fine on some photos, ridiculously green on others. Ive tried reinstalling LRC, Ive tried disabling the GPU processing. I've been using my Lightroom and its Catalogue for many years without incident until I accidentally sent all of my files to the Apple Cloud and then retrieved them to my local laptop. In the process, my Lightroom Classic "can't find" its more recent catalogue, and I can't figure out how to get them together again, and would appreciate some detailed guidance on how to do so. Thanks!
I recently selected the option for "Enable HDR editing by default for HDR photos" under Preferences > Presets. Since then, all the HEIC images I've imported look terrible in Library after editing. My research suggest that's due to a lapse in LRC that only supports HDR display in Develop mode. Any idea when LRC will be updated to enable HDR display in Library mode? In the meantime, how can I get the photos to look decent in a slideshow? Any work-arounds? Can I toggle off the HDR editing? Nov 2023 16" MacBook Pro with XDR displayLightroom 13.3Mac OS 14.5
hi all, i need some help ive updated lightroom to v 13 the new tools are there ive clicked on lens blur then apply and analize starts then after about 30 seconds a box pops up saying "there was an unforseen problem and your request was unable to be made", Or something very close to that there is no explanation of what has happened or how i can put it right could there be an update anytime soon. to be honest I'm not very tech savvy this talk of updating drivers and dabbling with graphics memory is right over my head can anyone help with explanations what won't make my head explode. all the best everyone cheers Mike. .
The same here. The Adobe Applications Manager started to do some lenghty task... finished, and then Lightroom could be started, but after a minute it stopped. And now this app manager is gone, and replaced by "Adobe Creative cloud". If I open this, I can see "Lightroom classic" in my apps, but when I click on it, the LR splash screen hangs again.
Since installing 13.3, Lightroom no longer shows profile corrections for my Sony 85mm 1.8 FE lens. It recognises the lens as usual in Library mode, but in Develop mode, it A. doesn't auto-recognise and apply the correct profile, and B. offers no Sony options other than a Sony DT 18-200 lens when trying to designate the correct profile manually. This worked seamlessly previously. Is there some sort of broken link to a profile library than I can fix, or something else to do? I'd simply downgrade to an earlier LR version but given part of installing the current version of LR was updating the catalogue file to this version, I'm not sure that would be as easy as all that. Well...the first one worked fine (although took a looooong time). 30 images. Went to try again, with 24 images, same bracketing settings and met with "Unable to detect HDR exposure bracket size. Merge to non-HDR panorama instead?" Was hopeful but this is a bummer.
After updating to 13.3 I realized that the healing tool slows down the PC extremely. This tool has never been particularly fast or accurate but now the PC becomes unusable after about 100 points. The new Generative Remove behaves in exactly the same way.I don't think the community has a solution for this, it would have to come from Adobe (they promise a faster healing tool with every 2nd update).Has anyone had similar experiences or a suggestion for improvement?I have since reinstalled 13.2 and accepted a few losses of edited images.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
Can anybody tell me whether it is possible to create a batch export group? So, rather than selecting each format in the batch export window every time I want to export multiple formats, is there a way to create a group containing the chosen formats, and selecting it with a single click? Thanks.
I just updated LR Classic and now I cannot adjust masks with add or subtract brush. I only get a hand to move. Does anyone know anything? Am I missing something?
when I move library image to Developer the dark areas turn a grainy blue and whites turnout red. Screenshots below. This is not a small change and cannot be edited out. I saw an old post about this and have checked my monitor settings as advised and set to sRGB IEC6 1966-2.1 I am new to LRc and now totally stuck and cannot edit any image so any assitance is appreciated. Thanks
My catalogue suffered a catastrophic failure. It would not repair, I could not import to a new catalogue, or any of the other 100s of fixes I tried. Eventually I reverted to a backed up copy and things went fine based on the v13 back up catalogue for several weeks. But then I upgraded this catalogue to v13-3 and worked for several hours without incident, I closed LR and reopened it. But once I tried to back up the catalogue, I was back to square one. The new catalogue was corrupt, the one that had been upgraded was corrupt, and Lightroom can't find a catalogue to open and I cannot get help. The Adobe bot is no help at all. There seems to be a fatal flaw in Lightroom that is resistent to all fixes and continues to pop up and cause problems. How do I fix this gremlin in the works so that I can have a stable and consistent catalogue? TIA
I've been fighting with LRC (v13.3) and LR (v7.3) on my Macbook (v14.5 - Sonoma) for hours. I have a series of photos that I have done some light editing to and I created a Collection (not a Smart Collection). Unfortunately when I originally moved some of the pictures they were flagged as "Original and Smart Photo" and that got synched to the Clound. Now no matter what I do in LRC when I try to access the Collection in LR; it shows Smart Photo. I want to be able to use LR to export the pictures in the highest JPG quality so I can print the photos. I've tried flagging the pictures as "Original Photo" only in LRC and creating a brand new collection but LR still pulls in the Smart Photo version. I've spent hours researching and trying to fix this but Can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas? Thanks!
Lightroom classic up-to-date build as of 30th of May 2024. Scenario: arranging keywords into keyword hierarchies by dragging a keyword name in the keyword list on top of another. The drag operation is possible for keywords at the top of the list, but when going down the list for about 200 keywords, it becomes impossible to drag those latter keywords.
Hi. I have been using Denoise AI feature on Lightroom Classic and Lightroom. I am relatively new to this software. Since last month, Denoise AI Enhance Process is not completing and leaves no error message as well. It processes upto around 90% and suddenly stops and shows no photo displayed. However the feature continues to work in Lightroom and having issue with only Lightroom Classic. Today I did update lightroom classic and it did not solve the issue.I am using Macbook M1 Pro with MacOS 14 Can someone help me in troubleshooting this issue ?
