I often use paths in my drawings, but I rarely want to transform them using Command-T. I am regulary accidentally transforming a path that happens to be selected, instead of the selected area of my drawing. Then I need to de-select the path and try again – an interruption that becomes time-consuming when repeated many times a day. A cleaner solution would be a preference in either the Paths palette or Transform bar that toggles between "transform ignores selected paths" and "transform affects selected paths." This is probably my main irritant with PS interface these days (aside from far more crashes than back when this app was stabler). I'd appreciate it if you can give it some attention. Thanks!
With the new M1 chip, I don't notice the background auto-save that Photoshop performs every five minutes. It would be great if we could reduce that time period to one minute. Five minutes can be a long time when working quickly, and I've often been frustrated to lose some nice lines I've drawn! Thanks!
I want to be able to customize the keyboard shortcuts for switching blending modes while using the brush tool. I switch back and forth between Normal and Clear mode hundreds of times while drawing and using my non-drawing hand to press Shift+Opt+R and (especially) Shift+Opt+N are so awkward that it becomes frustrating. I'm aware I could use the eraser, but this method works best while using the custom brushes from the Tool Presets menu.
Designers are brought up to know that templates can save time when generating similar projects frequently. Some of the details will change, but the broad outlines remain very nearly the same. These, of course, don't save a lot of time if they're PSD files that get accidentally overwritten. Nor is it reasonable to store a great many templates, or very large templates, in Libraries in the Cloud, hoping to prevent an overwrite that way. Design retail sites contain more and more templates, although currently many of them are merely layered PSD files. PSDT is a format many don't even know about, but those that do, know how miserable PS makes working with them. Please allow us to save our templates in PSDT format, or at the least our most frequently accessed templates, in a Template section of the Home Screen. You refuse to even save a .psdt format directly in PS now, plus you never retain it in Recents, so all in all, you're making more work for everyone who does benefit from .psdt tem
I've been using Photoshop forever and the Spacebar functionality is a must. However, over the years of using other applications I find that some of the Spacebar's "Quick hand tool" would be better served on a different key. For example being able to use my Mouse's scroll wheel button to quickly move my canvas and other things would be perfect. Unfortunately, Photoshop does NOT let you remap this functionality and it's 'hardwired' to the Spacebar. This request is to allow the default functions of the spacebar (Quick hand tool) to be mapped to any other key including mouse buttons. Thanks.
So basically, I have to admit that I really like the UI of iPad apps because they are so minimalist, simple and modern. So this is what I am asking Adobe. I think Adobe should make the Software UI.. not just matches the OS UI but also has a better UI design. Like maybe Modify the UI Font, Better Colors (darker grey for example), Simpler Look, Menu/Submenu Animation, and anything else that is good! For the example just like what I found on Dribbble:(But in Black and Dark Grey) So it will give a better experience for The Users. And also Adobe has to be advanced and creative everytime instead of keeping those UI that is already so old-fashioned (I can say). I don't know if they are actually making this or not right now For the upcoming Photoshop or any other Software for this Windows 11 and MacOS Monterey Update but I'm just sharing my idea here and hope that Adobe will Finally make this! Alden
I am a long-time user of the open source AnimDessin2 Photoshop plugin. The tool leverages existing functionality of Photoshop through a simple panel interface that enables a streamlined traditional cel animation process in Photoshop's video timeline, turning Photoshop into an excellent and intuitive tool for traditional frame animation. I would love to see this feature incorporated into the software.
Right now, if you have Tabs in your type, you can't control where it is or how it's aligned. This makes it impossible to e.g. make good lists. Looks bad, and hard to control. Have to fake it with spaces and manual letter spacing: I suggest adding the ability to control the position/alignement of tabs, similar to Illustrator and InDesign. Better:
Keeping a list of applied filters/settings as a bucket and applying globally on all pics/individual pics.smart apply , on images
We can tell the levels window that "this is black" or "this is white" but you know what would be really cool? If we could tell the program "this is [this shade of] yellow" or whatever color that we know and have it adjust the color profile accordingly. Kind of like the Color Transfer Neural Filter but more specific.
Photoshop has a space key + drag to move the canvas, butI always make a mistake when I go back and forth between Photoshop and Blender.I would like to be able to move the canvas by Alt+drag like in my Blender. The current shortcut key customization has many reserved keys, and I can't seem to set detailed settings such as combinations. Please let me customize with a high degree of freedom!Thank you very much.
How about you launch the Photoshop option on the web to and not just the Beta version? That way everyone can gain access on it.
Photoshop version 3.6.3 (20220629.426)iPadOS 15.6.1 Open or create a new document in Photoshop for iPadOS using an iPad Pro with a hardware keyboard (the type—USB, Bluetooth, or iPad Pro Magic Keyboard—doesn't matter)Use the Text tool to create text (point or paragraph text, doesn't matter)Type something (at least 3 characters; two or more lines can help showcase the issue)Deselect the text box, then reselect it for typing (with double-tap, etc.)Attempt to use:Keyboard arrow keys (←, →, etc.)Arrow-key chords ⌘ ← (beginning of line), ⌥← (previous word), etc.Home/End/PgUp/PgDn etc.Any of the standard macOS/iPadOS Emacs-like control keys (⌃A for beginning of line, ⌃E for end of line, ⌃B to move back one character, ⌃F to move forward one character, ⌃P for previous line, ⌃N for next line, etc.)Also, for those movement keystrokes above for which it is possible, additionally try holding down ⇧ (the Shift key) while pressing the movement key. Expected Results:Each of these
PROBLEM: Right now, if I make an adjustment layer in Photoshop, and I want to delete it (say I made a hue/sat adj layer and decide I want color balance instead), I select the layer and the mask becomes selected -- causing me to have to hit delete TWICE to get rid of the layer. This becomes frustrating and time consuming as you're trying to move through the edit process. Example of undesirable behavior: https://youtu.be/kKV_hqua2ss SOLUTION: Clicking on the adjustment layer DOES NOT select the mask, allowing you to delete the whole layer with one press of the delete button. If you want to do anything with the mask, you click on it (right, double, whatever).
When will Adobe redesing top bar menu in Photoshop and other application like Illustrator, InDesign etc?Photoshop has still hideous menus since Windows 8.You make the best graphic design software on the market and you make us use this ancient menus. You have absolutely no problem to implement new menus on MacOS. They are nice, transparent and it's joy to use them. So why you don't make it for Windows 11?Windows 11 design principles are ready to use for more over a year.Just look at how awful it looks compared to MacOS. Thet don't even respect dark theme.
Problem: When working on a project in Photoshop, I sometimes lose track of which brushes/erasers/smudge tools I've used and the history does not list those tools anymore. With so many brushes, it's difficult and time consuming to try and find the brushes I used originally and my project loses cohesion as a result. Solution: Allow the creation of a "tool case" or "brush/pencil case" -- a space that allows users to save a selection of brushes/tools to that project. This list could include any smudge, eraser, or brush preset selected by the user. Saving a new version of the project file also saves the associated "case" if one was created. While it is possible to duplicate a brush or move a brush to a new folder created for the project, this implies creating more brush presets and creating a new folder that the user may not want to keep permanently once the project is ended.Tying the "tool case" to the project allows users flexibility and avoids creating clutter on a user's interface a
When I'm masking a layer I often bring up the overaly with backslash. When I do that, the foreground and background colours switch, so I'm constantly hitting "x" to switch them back. I would love to have the option to disable this behaviour - it feels that that should be the default.
The Magic Wand tool should be able to select objects by size. I use photoshop for Textile Design. I am often cleaning stray pixels on my files with the Eraser or Lasso tool. It would be extremely useful if the Magic Wand could select by amount of pixels in an object. For example: Select objects that are made up of 5 pixels. Then they can all be deleted, recolored, etc., all at once. This would save Textile Designers so much time!
When saving 16bit PSD\PSB files as compressed, it would be great to have an additional option to select RLE compression. This would give faster save time than regular compression. For those that want maximum save speed, uncompressed mode now available in v23.5 and that is awesome, but if you want some of the benefits of both reduced file size and a faster save than regular compression, then RLE compression as an additional option would be a great add in future version of Photoshop. - vcx
When creating a new image, Photoshop used to set the canvas size to the size of the item on the clipboard. At some point this changed. While it still does show "Clipboard" as selected, the actual width and height seem to be whatever they were before, until I click "Clipboard". After years of working as a web developer, the muscle memory for "Copy Merged, File, New, Enter, Paste" is extremely strong and this change is driving me absolutely bannanas. Am I alone here?
Hello Everyone, As an illustrator I am having hard times while using freehand lasso tool in photoshop.. I don't think it can be modified in system preferences. the problem is when you are selecting a specific area with the freehand lasso tool you have to keep your pencil tip onto the pad surface and make continuous line or it will connect the first and the last touch points and make a shape that is not what you had in mind. The same tool in Adobe Fresco (which is designed for pads not for desktop computers) is way more easier to use even on desktop computer.. when you release your pencil the line that you drew remains as it is and you can continue selecting after rearranging your hand and it will connect the first point you make to the point you released your pencil at. If this settings can be changed in preferences please tell me how..or if it can't be changed can this be fixed in the next versions? I don't see any reason why should photoshop have the traditional freeh
Can we get an option in the pen & shapes tool for hard edges (hard pixel instead of antialiased).
Hi. I want it badly I hope the Photoshop function will be improved.I hope that Photoshop will have a function that allows you to move at the same time by holding a picture drawn on more than two layers with a noose tool. Other programs have this feature, but Photoshop doesn't
