Photoshop

If I add a layer mask to an art (pixel) layer and mask out part of the layer then select the layer icon (not the mask) and apply Gaussian blur both the pixels on the layer and the mask are blurred. Is this a new bug or am I missing something? Ps version 27.9.1. Thanks.

Photoshop generative AI has gone completely off the rails suddenly? Just last week i was working on a project restoring some old photos. I used simple prompts along the lines of “restore this photo and preserve all facial features” etc. and it worked absolutely perfectly. I came back to it today and all of a sudden it is generating bizarre overlays. Like a green box. Or a dirty machine parts. Or a flower. Or a made up face. What is it, did they break their LLM over the weekend??

I would like to cancel my subscription. Will I be charged a cancellation fee in addition to the monthly payment, or will the account simply be canceled and charged a prorated amount for this month?

Everything was working fine, but now I am unable to use the generative fill feature in both Photoshop and Illustrator, as it says "Please check the internet connection and try again". Attaching the screenshot for your reference. Would be great if someone could help.Thank you 🙂

There’s a new feature for the Remove Tool in PS 27.7.0, which allows for a local AI model that can be used “offline” and doesn’t require credits. It’s described here:  I meet the hardware and software requirements. Tried downloading this component / addon multiple times since yesterday, in PS and in CC App, but after 30-60 minutes the download always interrupts at 48% and it gives the error message “unable to extract files” and “error: code 127”. CC App lacks the basic function of resumable downloads, it always starts from the beginning. I have 630GB of free space, btw, so that’s not the issue. I did all the AI chat suggestions like deleting the Adobe temp folder contents on my root drive, giving full permissions for the folder, adding an exclusion for the folder in Windows 11 defender - none of that helped. Wasted a full hour in the chat with a human (?) or “human” agent that did not understand what the issue is, giving me completely irrelevant suggestions like “this feature does not

I have an Apple 27 inch Intel iMac running Mac OS 13.7.8 which is the latest version that will run on it. I was using photoshop version 27.8 and for the most part it worked fine. There were a few new features that required a newer operating system but for they were things I needed. Yesterday, it upgraded to version 27.9 and now when I launch it I receive a message that I need to upgrade the operating system to use it. I would have expected that the update would only have installed if it would run on my machine, which is what happened with Lightroom I tried to uninstall photoshop and reinstall both 27.8 and 27.7 and now I still get the message that I need to upgrade my operating system to use it. upgrading my OS isn’t an option until I can buy new hardware and that isn’t going to happen until Apple announces a new mini. is there anyway to get photoshop working again?thatks for your help,Jim 

Hello,Recently I have noticed that when I select a menu, or a drop down menu, there is a brief freeze and lag.This lag vanishes with Windows Ink is disabled, BUT, then I lose all pressure sensitivity.The lag isnt there when I roll over menus, but is when they are clicked.I am on Windows 11, using a Wacom Intuos Pro LRG (and older model: PTH-851)

I've just updated to Photoshop and now I can't drag anything with the move tool inside the canvas, nothing is locked, Auto-select is active. I also can't drag layers in the layer panels to re-order them. It was working fine, and suddenly move tool stopped working, the same with the layers panel, If i try to drag any layer, cursor changes to the hand icon and inmediately changes back to the arrow cursor with no result at all.

A partial layer appears in my Photoshop image after modifying a smart object image in camera raw following the addition of a mask layer.  The new partial layer appears when I return from camera raw to Photoshop. This problem just started a few days ago.  I have tried numerous techniques like double clicking on the camera raw icon, but the problem persists.  Your solution to this problem is greatly appreciated.

When trying to open Photoshop (any version) the splash screen opens as usual but when it goes away nothing happens, no background task or anthing, Photoshop completely crashes. The splash sceen always dissapears at the same mesage, roughly translated from german it says “calculating memory/storage”. Can someone with actual technical knowledge of Photoshop explain what has changed internally with Artboards in recent versions?I am not looking for generic troubleshooting steps. I am trying to understand the technical reason behind what appears to be a significant performance regression in Photoshop's Artboard implementation.The problemIn Photoshop Beta and recent Photoshop releases, basic Artboard operations are extremely slow. Creating a new Artboard can freeze the entire Photoshop UI for several seconds. Deleting an Artboard can freeze Photoshop for several seconds. Does anyone know why all of a sudden (it came out of nowhere, but I've been dealing with it all month) I am getting a Couldn't find background to remove when I try to use the Remove Background tool?  

I open PS and amend a photo in ACR. But when I then go to open the file in PS the photo appears all bleached out. This happens also if I open a photo in ACR and don’t amend it. I’ve looked at the colour space and they are the same. This has happened recently, within the last week as prior to this everything was working perfectly

I have been editing flowers for over a month with absolutely no problem and all of a sudden I am getting shadowing appearing when painting back in on a mask layer. The only way to avoid is to leave a large gap around the edges which is totally useless and before I could paint right up to the edges of leaves.my process is1 open photo2 overlay a texture background (using pace embedded as Jo other way currently works with my version3 Add a mask layer4 set opacity of overlay to around 40%select mask layer and paint over parts of flower I want to see - before I could go right up to edge of leaves with no problem5 select texture layer and adjust opacity until desired effectworked perfect until today and now if I go anywhere near the edges of the flower, a shadow appears outside the edge and on the background texture :(any tips on what I might have accidentally switched on would be gratefully receivedthanks in advance

For the past several versions of Photoshop, I’ve been experiencing a recurring problem when saving my files as PDFs. My files are specification sheets that are 8.5 x 11. Very standard.When I select Save a Copy > Photoshop PDF and save using either the High Quality Print or even Smallest File Size preset, Photoshop appears to save the PDF successfully. However, when I try to open the resulting PDF, I receive an error stating that the Page content might be truncated. All it shows is a blank white square.This has been happening consistently for the past few months and has become extremely frustrating. As a designer, PDF export is an essential part of my workflow. My Photoshop shuts down the second I open it.

I am trying to user Adobe Photoshop API to create PSD with groups, i.e. https://developer.adobe.com/firefly-services/docs/photoshop/api/photoshop-v2/, to create a PSD file programmatically. I tried to create a simple PSD with groups of layers. Photoshop doesn’t save imported brushes, patterns, text styles, or gradient maps. They disappear after I reopen Photoshop, so I have to import them again. PS 27.4.0, Mac M1 Pro.
