Photoshop

I have been using Adobe products for over 5 years now and all the products use the shift function to scale items, smart objects, and other things proportionally. Why did Adobe change this property on Photoshop items to do the opposite of this now? There are still some things in Photoshop that you have to still hold shift in for now too making things very confusing for me.Especially going between Illustrator and Photoshop a lot. Was their user testing that happened for this feature change that showed a lot of people would like it done at Adobe or during beta phases of the application?

Hello.   I cannot find the Rounded Rectangle tool in CC 21. I have reset all toolbar settings, reset workspace settings, etc, and the Rounded Rectangle tool is nowhere to be found.   As you can see, all other shape tools are available in the Customize Toolbar options and no tools are hidden. One would think that if the Rounded Rectangle tool was available, it would be shown somewhere in here.   I own legacy software (CS6) and I even confirmed that I didn't just imagine the existence of this tool. It's readily available by default in the toolbar on CS6. Nowhere on CC 21.   Is this the result of the recent update? Is there something very obvious that I'm missing and can't find? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a drawing in illustrator that I want to keep in the exact same dimensions in photoshop. (eg 16mm in ai is 16mm in ps). So I exported from illustrator as a save as web and opened the file in photoshop, but found that I'm unable to edit in the layers panel. Can't even add a new layer. Is there a fix or alternative way to do this? 

I'm not quite sure how to describe this, but each time I try to change text in photoshop, the cursor is editing the line above the one it should be changing.  The cursor is too big, looks as if its straddling two lines of text.It is not the font, as it's the same on all.I'm on photoshop 22.I've tried resetting the type tool. although it's posssible i've not done this correctly. Someone pllleeeeaaassse help! thanks!

I am trying to using the Automate Batch process to iterate through a directory of JPGs doing the following actions: Correct Correct it, saving the file via SAVE_AS with a _CC added Call the Depth filter with 95%, saving the file via SAVE_AS with a _BlurC added Converting the color corrected blurred image to Black and White saving the file via SAVE_AS with a _BWBlur added Closing the project file that was opened, not saving it Similarly  I would like to iterate throught a black and white directory, bluring the black and white, converting it to color  as  above. I've tried one long action, as well as a wrapper action against individual actions. It would appear that the SAVE AS functionality within Photoshop should be renamed to "STUPID SAVE AS" since problems arise saving.  It would also appear like the photoshop scratch files are not cleared at the start of each action, resulting in  actions somewhat randomly crashing

I finally gave up  and went with the subscription model of Photoshop.  I have the latest version.  I'm finding in certain instances that it is actually slower than my CS5.  A for instance is I was just doing a smart sharpen and when I clicked OK, it took a second or two for it to render.  I have never seen that on CS5.  It's always been instantaneous.  I know in general, I've noticed this several times.  I just don't remember exactly what the scenarios were.Anybody else wait this long to jump on board the latest version and notice that some things are slower?  I certainly wasn't expecting this from the latest and greatest.

Hi!   I have aproblem as I can only crop squares. I cant make a rectangle. How do I remove this square function from the croptool?   Thanks!   //Joanna

Hello.When I launch Photoshop, it loads for two seconds and then stops responding.No error message appears. Photoshop is running in the background, but the program won't launch.I completely uninstalled Photoshop and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. Do you know any solution?Thanks.

Have had actions associated with Shift+F2 and Ctrl+Shift+F2 for many years (so it's deep in the muscle memory at this point!) but a recent update seems to have enabled a "Modern UI" Technology Preview and it means Photoshop seems to prioritise the default keyboard shortcut Shift+F2 for either of these, and increases the brightness of the UI instead.Normally the priority seems to operate Actions > custom Keyboard Shortcuts > hard codes Shortcuts but this TP seems to break that priority.As this is in the Preferences, there seems to be no way in the Keyboard Shortcuts to resolve the conflict. Adding the hard-coded shortcuts to the Keyboard Shortcut interface would probably be the preferable solution.

Hello,More specifically, I want to read if "Transparency Shapes Layer" and "Layer Mask Hides Effects" are checked on or off on a layer. I tried various ways to get that info but none of them worked. Follow-up question: my goal is to toggle "Transparency Shapes Layer" on if it's off - so I get the bounding box of pixels on the layer - and then off. Is it possible to get the bounding box coordinates of pixels (not of the layer) even with "Transparency Shapes Layer" off? For example, the "Align and Distribute" functions seem to have access to that info regardless of "Transparency Shapes Layer" state and without loading a selection.

I've been trying to save my sliced images into jpg. or even png., but when I go forExport > Save for Web > and change my preferences even,it still saves as gif!What is the problem here?

Last week, I wrote that I could no longer open the RAW converter with the new update. I finally linked the previous RAW converter to the current update, and then I was able to open CR2 files again. Today, I noticed that even with the older converter, HEIC files won't open, or rather, the RAW converter won't open. By the way, the files don't open any better if I load them onto drive C and start them from there.

Lost Photoshop CS6 due to SSD wipe.. from what I ve read however, I would have to deactivate Photoshop on my old SSD (which I tried to recover the files off of, but could not), so that I won't get the error message of 'invalid license' if I try to reinstall on my new device. Is there any solution to this?Thanks for any advice, cheers.

When I click on my image. I get this strage mask that prevents me from editing it. Closing the program and opening it back doesn't work. It still comes up with this mask covering everything. Does anyone know how to remove it?

Hi all, for some time now everytime I try to open a large file photoshop stop respoding and I am getting the spinning wheel. Does anyone noticed this problem?

Hello.  My first post on Adobe forums. I am using PhotoShop CC 2025 V 26.1 on a PC running W1indows 11. When placing text on an image, I am accustomed to seeing a small text dialog box just under my inserted text with options for size, color, font selection, etc.  It no longer appears. It was so handy not having to go to the options bar at the top of the screen to modify text options. I am baffled.  I tried "Edit>Toolbar>Restore Defaults" and "Window>Workspace>Essectials" with no luck. Suggestions requested. Thanks in advance

I had no issue with expanding the top of the image with CAS, but I'm having trouble with expanding the bottom. I did the smaller left portion as you can see from the screenshot because of different objects in the shot. I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.5

Luminar Neo not working as a FILTER or Plug-In PS 2025 on Mac 15.6...Has anyone else had this issue? I've done clean uninstalls and re-installs based on Luminar Tech Support; however, nothing seems to work in Photoshop...It does work in Lightroom...What's going on and is Adobe going to fix the problem?

Hi,I amm unable to "Edit In" photoshop from Lightroom Classic. The error message tells me to reinstall Photoshop. When I click to delete the app, I get a warning to save my images. I am not working on any images that are unsaved...what do they mean by that?
