Photoshop

On Photoshop, I use a thumbnail template, where I have multiple groups: Title, Talent, Products, Background. I've been using that template for years now, I clean up once in a while but I have a couple of recurring images I use and like to keep in my template. Recently, even when some layers are not checked, it's like Photoshop thinks they're there? So if I want to resize one of the images that's part of any group, I need to hit free transform in order to be able to resize this image using only this image's borders. Or when I have to have 2 images on the thumbnail from the same group, I can't move them separately, it moves both of them and I need to remove one from the group to move it and then put it back in. I don't mind if that's just the way Photoshop is going to be, I'll re-organize the template accordingly, but it's kind of annoying and it didn't use to be this way up until the latest (I'm on v26.9, on PC) update? So, am I missing a quick fix?

when I updated photoshop to the latest Windows Patch 26.8..1, now my  contextual task bars are only  partially showing. I have attached a photo below. Nothing else in the environment has chganged. Is there a way to reset it or roll back to an earlier version. Anyone else having this same issue. I am running Windows 11 Pro on a Lenovo Laptop and an Ultra 7 165U processor. Suggestions and Help would be appreciated.  

Since updating to Photoshop 26.9.0 20250724.r.15 today I've got a problem with Generative Fill. I can select an area, right click on it and choose generative fill, type in a prompt and I get three variations offered - however, the prompt box is then blank and unselectable  so I can't modify the prompt or indeed even generate futher variations from the same prompt the 'Generate' button remains active, but with a blank and un-selectable prompt box.     Photoshop 26.9.0 20250724.r.15 on Windows 11 24H2 

When copy/pasting attributes from one shape layer to another, "paste attributes" isn't working. Attributes that were copied from one shape will not paste into another shape. Sometimes the option to paste doesn't even show up in the right click menu, it only allows the option to copy. This is a procedure I've done countless times, and this is the first I've encountered this issue.  26.6.0 on imac, sequoia 15.4.1

I've seen some art streams where the digital artists are zoomed in on their canvas and they have the full picture view, typically in the top left corner of the screen. I'm wondering if I can do the same, or if I just mistook that feature for another digital program? Thanks for the help!

Hi, i am having 900 + images scanned as shown in the attachment. Is there a easy script or action that would just straighten the layers. and also crop single single frames as images or sequence at a desired size or aspect ratio. pFA  

Hi, i'm literally just trying to move a gif to a still image. I've copied and pasted the frames of the gif into the still image i'm trying to paste it into, now to have the images actually be over the background.But when I select match layer across frames, the gifs are still transparent, and I end up creating a gif that flashes from background to gif 1, to gif 2, etc.How do I fix this?

Issue:When I duplicate a PSD file on Mac that already has an Asset Review link, rename it, and make changes to the new file, the new Asset Review link still shows assets from the original file. Expected:The new link should only show assets from the updated PSD. Observed:It often pulls in assets from the original file, even after renaming and editing. Note:This happens frequently, across multiple Photoshop versions. System: macOSPhotoshop: Multiple versions 

Hi, I'm on Photoshop 26.8.1. I have a document of 600dpi, 41x29 centimeters... When I try to save it as .psd, I have the error message saying that the document is too heavy, over 2Go, and that I have to save it as .psb... But when I save it as .psb, the document is just 225 Mo (When I save it as .tif, it's 218 Mo)... What's the bug ? Thank you.

This is the only place I found to ask a ? for Photoshop 24.7.3 Can someone please help and direct my ? to the proper place? I can't find the proper place to ask a ? I accidently closed the L side bar with crop, magnifying glass, eraser, clone, etc.... and can't find where to open it again. Hi, I just updated Photoshop to the newest version, and my computer and graphics card is also updated, but my Photoshop can't open. Can anyone help me? I also resetting Photoshop preferences.

Im trying to get a live preview of the color im choosing on the canvas and not just in the color picker box. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I can't tell if its canvas/document size, layer count + smart filters, zoom level, etc. Nothing is consistent in what I think could be the problem. Mainly using the live canvas preview feature when this color fill layer is set to Hard Mix with a Black and White adjustment layer on top. The video attatched has 2 files open, an already in-progress design file an a fresh file. The live preview works inside the IP file but not the newly created one, which you would think would be the other way around. Any help on how to fix this? Running PS 26.1.0 on a 2024 Macbook Pro Apple M4 Pro. 

Before the Photoshop 2025 update, I was able to select a layer within a group by simply using Alt/Option + Left Click when my Move Tool was set to Auto-Select and the dropdown was on "Group". This option no longer works, and my muscle memory is struggling here hahaha, since I've been using Command + Alt + Right Click to achieve the same function.Any help with this? I'd love to have the simpler option working again.PS: I thought I was going crazy, so I went to do some research and found forum posts confirming that the simple shortcut I’m referring to actually did exist.https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/3523/direct-select-layer-ps 

This bug referenced here is happening in Photoshop 26.7.  As mentioned in that thread, the bug occurs with presets that were created and functioning in earlier verisons (26.6.1) and presets that were created and exported in the latest 26.7. Each import attempt results in the error message in red:  "There was a problem with your selected file, and the custom presets did not import." Would love a workaround beyond dialing back to 26.6.1 or a general ETA on a bug fix update! TIA! 

i work in a retoucher environment for a large company. we get in product files as layerd .tif files. we have to put them on a 2000x2500 pixel jpg. the issue is, i need the top of the product to be a uniform distance from the top of the document and maintaini its proportions and positioning. some of the files have a transparent image lavey, a shadow layer with mask below that, a color fill layer below that, and an unused layer at the bottom. another variation is the have the top product layer in a group and the rest is the same .Ive. been using a few AI tools and the path weve gone down is to1. Resize the image to 2000x2500 if needed2. Merge anything above the color fill layer, 3. drop a horisontal guide at 675px (we havent determind the proper height we would need yet)4. move the top of the product to meet the guide5. Flatten and export or just export as aJPGwe tried flattening the image first, creating a new document pasting it in, and doing the remaining steps but cant seem to g

Hello everyone,I’m experiencing an issue where Photoshop does not take focus when switching from another app on my M1 MacBook. I have to click on the image or some part of Photoshop before and keyboard shortcut/input is acknowledged. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including using the Dock and Mission Control to switch, restarting both Photoshop and my Mac, resetting preferences, and running in Safe Mode, but none of these steps have resolved the problem. Has anyone encountered this issue or have any suggestions for further troubleshooting? Any help is appreciated!

Hey all! I cannot figure out if this is a bug or what, but hopefully you all might know! I'm creating a gif of 28 images on photoshop - dispose is selected, before everyone jumps to that - but I'm getting these weird glitches after exporting. I'll attach what it looks like below - I have tried redoing it over and over, restarting, making sure PS is up to date, exporting at a lower and higher quality, making sure dispose is selected, etc and I still can't figure it out. I also have plenty of storage on my laptop and external hard drive. Please help!! Thank you!!

Hello,I have a function that gets the average color in a selection area. I want to be able to select multiple areas, and get an array of the averages in those area in one go (e.g: to use in a gradient map). I figured out that I can convert the selection (with all the areas) to a path, and then I would have different subpaths for each selection area that I can theoretically loop through, convert into a selection, and get their average color, then delete the created path/subpaths.However, I wasn't able to implement my idea. apparently selecting different subpaths on the same path is not possible via scripting (?), and I also failed in separating the subpaths into different paths to loop through (I found some posts about that here but I wasn't able to implement).Any help would be appreciated.
