Photoshop

I am a newbie of photoshop and the effects of gradient map confuse me.  I thought gradient map has consistent formula for the 3 color channel(RGB), but it doesn't.  I set left side of gradient map to black(0, 0, 0), and right side to white(255,255, 255), and the gradient map layer changes rgb color of below layer as following:  (255, 0, 0) -> (66, 66, 66)  (0, 255, 0) -> (156, 156, 156)  (0, 0, 255) -> (18, 18, 18)  such result is really beyond my understanding, So why do I get this effect?

I am trying to uninstall Photoshop 7.  I get the message UninstallShield has detected that c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop7.0\Photoshop.exe is in use. Please close the application using this file and launch UninstallShield again.   But I am not using it. It is broken and not working.   Windows 11 on a laptop

Last week my zoom tool acts like this.press zoom hotkey> pressing pen on screen> drag (pen is still  pressing on screen) > lifts up pen = zoom function is overbut now:press zoom hotkey> pressing pen on screen > drag > lifts up pen > hovering pen on screen> zoom function zooming in and out unless I right click. the zoom function seemed to change.did photoshop change the zoom function entirely this recent update?how do I return the  zoom function back.

When Preferences->Workspace options "Open Documents as Tabs" and "Open LArge Tabs" are inactive (and PS is freshly (re)started), opening (or droping in) several images cause a bug. Last window of the opened pictures remains active/semi-active on top. It stays on top when windows of previous pictures selected. Even when "under" window is managed to be on top via moving, tools (like clone tool selecting Source via Alt key) switches back to last opened picture if it's window is below. Confirmed on different machines - Win10 and Win11 for both versions of Photshop 26.6.1 and Photoshop Beta 28.Bug presumably wasn't observed before 26.6 (or 26.6.1).

When generative fill was introduced, I remember it only filling the selected area.Right now, generative fill goes beyond my selection and sometimes "destroys" areas that I didn't select. Is there a way to limit generative fill to only fill my selected area and nothing else?

Hey Everyone, I have the Kyle Webster pack and wondering why the mixer brushes have a lovely texture to the shown in the example in green, but regular brushes do not have th elovely texture? Can I add texture to the regular brushes at all? I tried in the brush fly out and it seems to have some texure added. What is the trick with the mixer brushes having this deeper texture? Thanks

I am experiencing unusable results with Generative Fill in the latest version of Photoshop (25). Are there any fixes, workarounds or different methods to get better results? When these edits were made in PS24 the Generative Fill results were perfect on the first try and took maybe 3 minutes. I'm now more than an hour into trying to get the same results.  I've looked for a link or contact to report this directly to Adobe but give up after not finding one.

After the latest Photoshop update, a bar appeared at the top left, reminiscent of the bar of the Photoshop generative tool. It hangs, there is no way to remove it, it covers part of the menu when Photoshop is open in full screen.Is this a bug?Adobe Photoshop version: 26.6.0 20250414.r.14 f1f3569 x64  

In the past, whenever opening organizer, it would offer me the option to download to photoshop all new photos on my iphone.  Recently, it is not offering to do this.  I really love this feature but can't figure out why it is not doing it.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the most updated version of Photoshop CC2018.  I am trying to open an .eps file and I keep getting the error: "Could not complete your request because Photoshop was unable to parse the postscript".  It would open them before.  HELP   {Moderator note: Edited the thread title, PS-63010}

Hi. I'm wondering if there is a way to enter variable info in an action. Specifically, in my action I want to add canvas but depending on the photo, not the same amount of canvas. Is there a way to have the action open the "add canvas" window, wait for me to enter the variables, and then continue? And/or, is there a way to open the "stroke" window, wait for me to enter the variables and then continue?I've been struggling with this and cannot figure out how to do it. Thanks. Mark

I updated Photoshop to 26.6.1 today and have not been able to use Camera Raw Filter successfully. Photoshop will freeze and require a force quit. Is anyone else experiencing this problem on Windows 10?

Hi friends,Please help!  I accidentally hit the "Do Not Show Again" dialog box when deleting a layer mask.  Now whenever I try to apply a layer mask, instead of asking if I want to delete or apply, it just automatically deletes it.  How can I get back to UN-check that box?Thank you so much.

This behavior was normal yesterday, but today it's not working correctly.I have vector files in my library that I then place in photoshop files. When I have the photoshop file open and I open the library file and update it, the normal behavior is for the linked smart object to automatically update in photoshop. This still works with normal linked vector files, but not ones that live in libraries. I've tried this with multiple files, multiple libraries, including building new files from scratch, and nothing works the way it did yesterday. I am still able to update the linked smart objects by right-click -> Update Modified Content, but that's a huge slowdown for my workflow to do that after every change, when it used to automatically update. What happened? I didn't update anything, I'm very confused. Did something about Libraries change? I'm on Windows 10 with Photoshop 25.4.0

EDIT NOTE: 7-1-23  I decided to downgrade to version 24.5 since it works fine.  I might try deleting the beta version maybe there is some mix up in the pref. files between 24.6 and the beta version.  For now I am done with this issue and I am waiting for 24.7 or later befor updating again. Hi I have an issue where when photoshop opens my tool bar is blank except for the triangles in the lower right of each tool, I attached a screen shot.  This started with my update to  ver. 24.6  a few days ago.Info:windows 11 , windows updated last evening no change in the Photoshop issue.Nvidia graphics 3060 with 12gb v-ram64 gb ram on a Dell XPS system.I deleted and reinstalled Ver. 24.6 twice.I deleted the Photoshop preferences folders (there was Photoshop 2021, 2022 and 2023 folders all were removed to the desktop)This morning I was chatting with Support and they did remote access but the chat shut down before he could make any changes.I have scanned for viruses

Unable to end task or force quit through task manager, and also unable to do anything within the Photoshop app itself. Task manager is not showing overtaxed memory. Version 26.6.1 on Windows 11

Hi, We migrate our devices W10 to W11, and after that we have an error "Please check your internet connection and try again" when try to use Generative fill.In Windows10 Devices in the same network works fine, but all W11 still have the problem.I followed some articles indicated to remove some inbound and outbound rules of Adobe in Windows Firewall, but didn´t work. Anyone have any ideas what we need to do to solve this issue?Thank You.Daniel 

The “Deleted” folder doesn’t show in the Photoshop for iPad. I can go to the Adobe cloud from a browser and see the folder there. I have reinstalled Photoshop and updated the IPad.... still no  deleted button.

Crop tool is cropping before I commit. For example, I use crop tool to envision different ratios. Then I switch tools, without committing to any of the crop previews, and PS crops the image, usually reducing it's size, automatically. This isn't normal. I've been using PS for years. A couple troubleshooting suggestions referred to "resetting" the crop tool. 26.2.0 does not appear to have that option as described.
