Photoshop

I found a bug where a color change is being applied to a gradient, even when the user clicks cancel. To reproduce: - Create a new document - Create a shape layer (like a rectangle) - In the shape properties on the top left, change the fill to gradient - edit the gradient by changing one of the colors, but keep the color picker dialog open - the preview of the gradient on the shape changes as expected - when you click "Cancel" on the color picker, the new color is applied to the gradient anyway   I would except that clicking "Cancel" in this dialog reverts to the previously used color. I will generate an image using generative fill and then go in for image modifications using generative fill and the reference photo and style icons are gone. This was literally working for me yesterday, but I saw there was an update and updated PS overnight and this morning this option is completely gone. After reading around for the past few hours, I am finding that it was completely removed in the update and a reference object is available in the beta version. This doesn't help when I have generated an image that is done as an animated drawing and all I want to do is change the image of a plant (for example), and it replaces it with a realizstic plant image instead of an animated drawing. The reference image helped ensure that the modifications would be in the similar style as the original image.  I am praying I am missing something because this is extremely important in my job and I honestly don't know what I will do if I cannot get this to work. Hi, I appreciate AI is a bit of a wild wild west situation at the moment! Just wondering if anyone has guidance on this subject though!I work for a company who feature content from big retailer/FMCG/hospitality brands. Occasionally we have to try and expand an image of (for example) a person against a backdrop of some sorts, to fit the graphic we're creating. Are we legally allowed to do this? I ask, because presumably the actual photographer/brand holds copyright and any alterations to images prior to AI would previously have been prohibited by law.We are in theory, promoting that brand, and it could be a subtle extensions of the image that people probably wouldn't notice, but they don't get to ever see it to okay it and I know some companies have incredibly fussy visual merchandising standards. Even if it's a subtle extention of the backdrop only, would it be legal/above board as the whole image would have then been run through AI? What if they aren't okay with having their stuff put

Hey,Is there a way I can change the photoshop brush panel to show a "stamp" of the brush rather than a continuous flow?As shown in the screenshot my brush panel shows the brush as it would look if you were painting a continous line with the brush which makes it hard to visualy find the a brush I want to use. It would be much easier if the view port for the brush just showed it as a stamp like how it is shown at the top of the brush panel once it has been selected.Is there anyway to do this?Thanks in advance for any answers 🙂

Setting up a new Mac Studio and want to migrate my Photoshop 22 settings on my PC over to a new PS installation on my Mac. Can this be done as a single migration (settings folder?) w/o having to do prefs, actions, brushes, keyboard shortcuts, etc. separately? I subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud with the intention of using the AI-powered tools to unleash creativity on my images. Unfortunately, I’ve been running into a series of limitations and issues instead. One of the main frustrations is that Neural Filters in Photoshop are greyed out and not available for use.It would be incredibly helpful if there were an explanation provided in the application itself as to why the filters are unavailable. Right now, I’m spending far more time troubleshooting and searching for answers than actually creating.Could someone from Adobe please clarify why Neural Filters might be greyed out, and what steps I need to take to enable them? I’d like to get the most out of my subscription while it’s active, but I feel stuck at the moment.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know a way to export 16bit  RGBA image   from Photoshop  to be then read well it in Substance Designer and Blender ?    Whatever I try Alpha is always 8 bit or something.    Same layer transparency in pngs.    Whatever Pixel depth I set in my document.    Tried  exr .   saved as stepped  8 bit nevertheless .     Alpha works fine with Tiffs  but RGB part goes somewhat  weird in Substance Designer . Like it read it with alpha transparency + some gray background.     Chat GPT tells me Photoshop only respect set pixel depth in RGB  and A is always 8 bit when it saves exr or png . Is it really so or it's hallucinating ?  

Hi,I am working on big projects with multiple stack photo and it take up to 18-25 Gig of ram per project. So when I want to switch on another project I try to close the project before openning the other one so it could Free up some ram, but it doesn't. I tried to purge the cache but it does nothing when no project is open. the only way to free the ram from photoshop is to close it and then wait for 1 min so the process can close and then re-open photoshop.I want to know if there is a way to clear the ram when closing a project? so i can work on others projects

Hi all. a few years ago I downloaded a sports template with two square "permanent" areas that I could paste photos into, and don't have that template. THATS fine.....but how do I create one?? essentially it's an area (say a square) that hats saved on the template/file and I can paste into that selection. AND the photo pasted goes into that selection only.  I've googled a bit and found something where I can save a selection? Thatsounds like it might work I'm using v26.x all help is appreciated. 

Hey there, my recently bought Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X with AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS Creator Edition 3.20 GHz and RAM 16GB, with a battery normally lasting up to 6 hours, gets hot (especially when using the pen) and lasts 2 hours when I use photoshop. I just learned how to use it, it´s the 2023 version but I don´t know which exact update. What can I do? It also heats up and drains the battery whenever I use premiere, I bet it will last way less when I learn AE. Btw, this only happens with Adobe programs and sometimes with games. I think it´s a laptop issue but I wanted to post it on here either way. Thanks.

I have an image post processed in ACR; saved as a jpg. Copied it, resized, exported with Save for Web [legacy] in PS and saved as a jpg. But its too large, so using the original full size jpg image I copied it again, resized it but now when I export with Save for Web [legacy] in Ps it does not allow it to be saved as a jpg. It only offers “Images only, HTML or both.” The original image I’m working from and the first resize are saved as jpg. So there is not a 16 bit issue or layers involved. Preferences => File Handling => Enable Legacy ‘Save As’ is ticked. I also tried Export => Export As => jpg but with that it’s over 1 MB which is too big b/c this is for the web. What is wrong? It saved as jpg now it won’t. How do I fix this so resized images can be Save for the Web [legacy] as jpg? I loaded up a .PNG into PS. As I readied myself for the task, I accidentally pressed the 'F' key. I pushed it several times until the program was back to normal. Except now, I cannot draw, fill, erase...nada. All I have is the prohibition symbol (circle with a diagonal line through it). I tried resetting the tools, the Essentials workspace, etc. What's the magic key to fixing this?

I've noticed that the Select Sky feature in Photoshop and in Adobe Camera Raw can produce slightly different results.  From that I'm taking the leep and suspecting that there are slightly different algorithms or different implementations of the algorithm in the two products.  If you've noticed this difference and have an opinion as to which one does the better job, I'd be interesting in hearing what you think.

I have three layers and want to blend the top one using Overlay, but it's greyed out along with others.  I use this all the time what has happened? See screen print below: 

That's say I have file C, which contains a link to file B and has a link to file A. I'm trying to switch to non-destructive eiditing where I've already been destructively editing iles A B & C. Ideally I want a way to comprehensively track many file links including recursive links (linked files that contain their own links). Perhaps an equivalent of <link removed> each dot is a file and each line is a link, if file A links file B then it will two dots and a line for them.  

Hi, I am trying to record an action.Sky replacement / Adjust brightness to 100 / OK / unclick foreground lightning. Even thought Adjust brightness shows at 100 int the action menau breakdown, it is not being applied to my photo.Any idea how I can fix that? Thanks 

I use the magic wand tool in the selection menu all the time to make images cleaner. This week I noticed that the tool is either completely gone or has been moved. Could you please let me know what I need to do to access it on the web version?

I am almost constantly getting "encountered an issue" when using gen fill on images with a femal present pretty much *anywhere* in the image. I am wastings hours and hours removing the females from the image, retrying the fill - which works - and then pasting the females back into the image. Is there any way to prevent this? It has gotten really bad lately. I am on version 26.4.1 on Windows 11. Possibly related, it seems after the latest updates, my Adobe account seemed to have forgotten who I was and what country I am in. I had gone through all of this before and I had to compeletely uninstall all my Adobe software and reinstall. Also, I've noticed lately that the generative file - when it works - leaves very noticeable lines around the edges of the replaced section. It used to work great but now it is usually starkly different. I wish the things that used to work fine would just stay working fine. Very frustrating.

I am quite new to photoshop on the iPad, and as I am trying to color a drawing, these dropshaped blots of color show up. I have no idea how they got there, or how to get rid of them. I do not even know how to google  it.   Please, they are wicked annoying!, and have no function as far as I can tell!   Thanks in advance for all and any help!
