I often use Photoshop's soft round brush to add a bit of color to my image. I hold down the Option key, then click on a color in the image that I want to sample, and continue painting with the newly sampled color. As of the first release of PS 2024, the sampled color is stored as the background color instead of the foreground color. This is quite exasperating as I have to touch the letter "X" to switch the sampled color from the background to the foreground. I use this color sampling shortcut quite often and can't understand how this shortcut went from working correctly for the last 8 years to being reversed in 2024. Please fix this! I'm using Mac Studio M1 with the latest Mac OS.
When I opened the a7m4 and optimized the dynamic rangeRAW files will incorrectly add exposure value in lightroom2024The same problem does not occur in Sony's official software Imaging Edge Desktop. Note: The same exposure parameters are used to photograph the same object. This problem is particularly obvious when dealing with star shrinking I think this is a problem or bug with lightroom2024
After updating to latest PS version (25.11) on my iMac (Sonoma 14.6), the remove tool (stable settings) always freezes PS with the spinning ball of death. Once I force quit, and reopen, all my preferences have been removed and I have to change my layout back, re-import brushes, patterns etc. Has happened 10+ times now. ONLY the remove tool does this.
Photoshop 24 (25.11.0) This issue is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. When I use the save as copy I cannot select the format in the dropbox and most of the components in the window are left align. This is a known issue? Thanks.
Suddenly I get this errors: "javascript code was missing" Each time I run an action whith scripts."Can't write new document presets file" At closing photoshop. Windows 10 / Photoshop 2024 v25.5 The first error appears when I run any action that contains scripts, sometimes it works, but sometimes I need to close the error window and re-run again 3, 4 or 5 times before the action runs correctly, if I have an action with several scripts, the situation is worse because any of the scripts can throw the error. I need to fix this as soon as possible is impossible to work with this behavior, i have read other threads but there is NO solution: - I have not installed any new software, just suddenly it started to fail.- I have deleted photoshop settings folder twice (before re-install).- I don't have 3rd party plugins (i don't have any plugin installed)- I have uninstalled, cleaned the system, and re-installed Photoshop 3 times by now.- I have changed the version for: 25.
A few days ago, there was a Photoshop update. I noticed that the tool on the menubar modifying with "wave," "arc" or other modifications no longer works. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, suddenly, all of the layered master files which had been saved as .psd files now being red a Winzip files and won't open. What gives? These Adobe updates are getting pretty destructive...I think. Any solutions out there?
I'm working with images that must have transpaency for certain parts. Here is my flow: Open an imageTurn background to a layerDuplicate layerRemove background on top layerSet bottom layer to 0% opacity (so 100% transparent) The result should be that when I do the eyedropper on a part of the image that is 100% transparent, I should get the RBG channels for the color, but it should just be transparent. The eyedropper doesn't detect any color. I also have the problem that if I save the image as PNG, preserving transparency, all the RBG information is lost and the transparent pixels are just set to #FFFFFFFF (so 100% transparent white). The only way I can preserve the RBG information is to set the opacity of the bottom layer to 1%. Of course, that means there is a shadow of the background everywhere in the image. Can someone explain why Photoshop is doing this? How can I get it to preserve the RBG information no matter the alpha channel (opacity)? This feels very much l
Betriebssystem Windows 11 Home. Grafikkarte AMD Radeon RX 6600.

I am still very much a novice in Photoshop and I have a file that I've been working with for several years. Every so often, I need to update the file with recent changes. The file has a canvas size that adds 1/8th of an inch around the standard letter paper size for bleed, and I've never had a problem saving as or exporting this to other file types to fit on a standard paper size for non-professional printing. However, as I am updating the file to incoroprate recent changes, I am getting very large white spaces to the right and bottom of my image that extends far beyond my canvas area. I cannot seem to find a way to save as, print, or export without these large white spaces. I also notice that Photoshop lists my document dimensions in the lower left-hand corner as 14.413 in x 11.913 in (300 ppi), which I'm assuming is where these white spaces are coming from. But to my knowledge, I never modified these dimensions and this does not accurately reflect
Hello,As the title says, When I go to window - arrange - new window, that window will not properly update. Specifically the brush tool (and perhaps eraser too) don't update properly. I can't figure out what causes it to update, but only seems to do so sporadically. I do a lot of illustration work and always keep an extra window open to look at my work full screen (I'm usually zoomed in on another screen). Currently that's almost impossible as the extra window is behind many brushstrokes and I can't get it to update. If it helps: Both the brush and eraser won't update the second window, but the move tool will. So I can force an update by using the move tool.Thank you,-Wouter
I tried to open a TIFF file into Photoshop 2024 but could not. A warning popped up saying that an unexpected end-of-file occured. I was able to open other TIFF files and this same file opened up in GIMP. I searched the internet but could find nothing about this concerning TIFF files, only if it happens to photoshop files. This is on a Windows 11 machine
Every other time I open Photoshop on my desktop I am greeted with Error 205 and forced to close. I know how to fix the error at least for the current session by using command prompt to clear the Credential Manager storage for all the Adobe apps. It's gotten to the point though where I have had to save the fix on a notepad on my desktop because it happens nearly every time I open an an Adobe application (especially Photoshop it seems). I'm not asking how to fix it for this current session but how to fix this full stop, or if not then to at least bring it to the attention of someone at Adobe. This is ridiculous that I should have to run commands through command prompt every time I want to open one of their applications.
Windows 10 22H2 19045.4651Photoshop 25.7.0Steps to reproduce (on my system) — ctrl + click to any layer within main window.Expected result: layer selection.Actual result: immediate freeze without any way to end it, apart killing the process. This problem persists for a few months now and keeps through a few minor (and, probably, at least one major) version updates. Tried to reset all settings, clear all caches and full re-install — result is the same.
Not sure when exactly this started, I think I skipped a version, but it's happening in 25.11.0 and I don't think it was in the earlier 25.x versions. Basically the bug is that Undo and Step Backward now do the same thing on a Curves layer, whereas before Undo would only undo what you just did. Clearer with an example:Old, expected, behavior: 1- Go to an exisiting or new curves layer. Let's say there's a point darkening it at 128 in 120 out.2- We want it a little lighter and redder. Click the point at 128 in, press the up arrow 4 times, so it's now 124 out. 3- Go to the Red channel. Create a new point, move it to 128 in, 130 out. 4- It's not red enough, shift + Up arrow, so it's 140 out. 5- That's way too red, hit Undo, the point is now back at 130 out, and you can tap Up a few times without shift til it's right. New, frustrating behavior:Steps 1-4 the same, but when we get to Step 5:5- Hit Undo, it brings the curve back to where it was in Step 1 (same as Step B

When I try to use the generative fill tool the loading bar appears and when it reaches 100% it disappears and nothing else appears. Solutions?
When working on files with a grain layer (gray layer with noise and g.blur smart filters) at the top of the file I often get gray blocks when I try doing any sort of pixel based adjustments--paint, clone, heal etc--below. This has been going on for years.
I have a brand new computer with Win 11 Pro. AMD graphic card and Intel graphics are all updated with latest driver. The Photoshop; adobe Premiere PRO, Lightroom are all downloaded in latest versions. They all have issues making them impossible to use after immediate freez or no longer can be operated for various reasons.I have tried a long list of suggestions from community and Adobe and elsewhere where people has tried different ways to fix Photoshop freezes. I have downloaded the Adobe creatice cloud diagnostic tool - a tool that diagnosting Adobe premiere issues, and the tool reported that an Intel graphic driver should be updated. I did, but the tool still complains about this driver. I have double checked that it is the correect version. I think I have tried everything Adobe has suggested, including deselecting GPU and multithred, started PS without plugins, running the program as an adminstrator and a lot of other advices, and I have also installed a early version of P
