Photoshop Elements

I am overdue for cleaning up my computer and I want to remove some now unused earlier versions of PSE going back to 2014. I use PSE 2018 currently and would like to keep it for now as it functions good for me right now. After glitches, disasters and issues with previous versions while backing up catalog, tags, uninstall, reinstall, converting, restoring, reimporting tagged photo files, etc. I am half scared to do anything with PSE at all now as I am afraid of screwing up and losing my filing & tagging of 50k+ photos. I have long absences of using PSE so I am not the most knowledgeable or proficient at using it! Hello everyone.I'm currently using Photoshop Elements 2024 on Windows 11, and I have a problem with "Process multiple files". I want to simply resize some PNG files with transparent background, but even if I check that the format is correct (PNG in the file type menu), the batch processing add them a white background... Why?

Using PSE Organizer 2023 on Macbook (M2 Pro, 16 GB RAM, 600 GB free on the SSD, Sonoma 14.3). I have about 44K images in the catalog. Performance is good when first opening the application and catalog, but after using for 3-5 minutes, I get the spinning wheel of death (the wheel that shows in Organizer) when I move to a different album to view other photos. The delay can be 1-2 minutes before Organizer starts responding normally again. If I then move to another album the same slowdown occurs and often gets worse. I've also had similar slowdowns when importing photos - it did this once when I was trying to import just one photo and I had to Force Quit the app after a few minutes. I have turned off all the media analysis features and turned off the use of the GPU (in the PSE Editor), but to no avail. The app can use up to 70% of RAM. I upgraded my laptop from a 2012 Macbook Air with PSE 14 in Sept. 2023. I had no such problems with this catalog on the ancient Air and PSE 14. I'm out of i

Attemting to open Photoshop [Elements] 2020 and it opens to editor screen but cannot do anything. Have to close with Task manger where it says 'not responding'. Tried uninstal and reinstalling, updates and problem remains. PC is Win 10, M.2 drives, 32G RAM 

Hello, today I was following a tutorial on youtube (about frequency separations) and a certain point, it says to use 'gaussian blur'.Do you know , in Photoshop Elements if there's 'Gaussian ' blur?I ask this, because I have Photoshop Elements in Italian, and there's no a literal translation like "Sfocatura Gaussiana", as suggest the google translator.  I don't think in Italian, it was translated as 'sfocatura gaussiana' even if I 've also found a tutorial of Adobe itself, that address to 'sfocatura gaussiana', as explanation, but in facts, as 'button' , I can't find 'sfocatura gaussiana'. So I wonder if Photoshop Elements have 'gaussian blur ' and how is it called in Italian this option? Since there's many different type of blurs and many looks almost similar to gaussian blur in the video lesson, I wonder which of all these blurs is the one that it matchs with 'sfocatura gaussiana' in italian. ... Thank you for any help as always!

Hi all, I am running Mojave 10.14.6 on a Mac Pro.  When I import videos from Photos, the date of the video changes to today's date. I spent a couple of hours on the phone today with Apple support, they told me to re-download my photo catalog from the cloud as full files, it didn't help. Other people say to drag the  video from photos rather than export (which I do leaving original info intact) but that doesn't help either.  Anybody found a solution?  Thanks.

I get pop-up ads in Photoshop Elements, and there is no "Don't show again" option. Just "Learn more..." and "Later", but no option for "Never." I have checked all the preferences and everything that seems related is unchecked.   This is poor form on Adobe's part. Shame on them. Spam me with e-mail if you want, but don't get in my way when I'm trying to use the product I paid for.

When choose to save a JPG indivudally there's a slider with 0-12 to choose quality level (and file size), but when you process multiple files you can only chose 4 quality settings. For me the max quality creates to large files typically between 11-14Mb, and high 2-4Mb which is too low. I use the setting 10 which to me is the best balance between size and quality. So any chance there might be a similar slider when processing multiple files

first timer.  please email me at [email removed by moderator] with answer or clue to find this post again.   PS Elements 2020 on MS Window 365.  Regarding "Processing Multipy files" - batch work. This program worked fine until a few days ago.  Now this "Process Multipe files ..." is not working and I need it for large batch of photos.   Set-up works and I beleive all boxes I need and want are checked.  Photos from and to, with name and extention and dpi set.  No extra processing.     I see photos go into the new folder but now as a .tmp (temp) file and then appear to overwrite the previous photo.  In the end I only have the last photo.   So, I uninstalled the program and reinstalled.  And it still does not work?????????   Please help.  Thanks Gary

Photoshop Elements 2024 (Windows 10)  - I select a photo to be deleted, click on "Delete Media,  get message "Selected media will be deleted in background", media not remove (deleted) from  Organizer. Sometimes I get a message "Delete selected media in backgound failed, try agan later". I went in and unmarked all the boxes Preference-Media Analysis with the same result. Has onyone experienced this delete issue or have suggestions on how to delete a photo from Organizer?

I just did a fresh install of PSE 2024 on my PC. I just want to bring some folders from my old catalog into my new 2024 My Catalog. How do I copy individual folders between catalogs and keep all my Tags intact? I do not want to just restore my older PSE Catalog. I have ten years of various PSE years additions/upgrades restored Catalogs from over the years of restoring and it has become a mess of a Folder tree! Folders I can see but can't delete, etc etc. I just want to bring some folders from my old Catalog into my new 2024 My Catalog and start TOTALLY  fresh again with a clean slate BUT have my tags stay intact. Can it be done inside PSE or do I have to use Windows file explorer..? I could not figure out a simple way to do it. Any help greatly appreciated

Hello! I'm trying to use the text tool in Elements 2023, and instead of starting a new line when I press Enter it commits changes instead of starting a new line like it's supposed to. I've already tried playing around with font size and leading like another pst here suggested, and none of it's worked. Can anyone please advise? I have a project with a deadline, and not being able to do something as basic as start a new line of text is awful! Thanks!

I am trying to add PSE 2021 to Bridge 2023 so that I can open photo files by right-clicking on them. PSE isn't listed, so I go to the C drive, click on the Adobe file, and choose PSE. Then I double click. That is opening another file, and I am not sure what to click on within that file. There are things in it like the desktop shortcut, the exe, plugins.  Can someone please tell me how to do this? I do realize I could use PSE Organizer but I prefer to use Bridge. Thank you!

Bonjour,Depuis quelques temps dès que je veux imprimer une image ou photo depuis Photoshop, même si j'ai choisi une impression 600ppp ou 1200ppp, un message apparait me disant que malgré les paramètres choisis, l'impression sera en 300ppp. Une explication sur ce problème ? Sachez que je ne suis pas "informaticienne", je me débrouille mais bon. Merci d'avance pour celles & ceux qui pourront me trouver une solution ou tout au moins une explication.

Hi, I'm trying to activate my Elements 2021 but adobe wants a 6 digit serial number that is supposed to be on my sleeve.  I don't have one.  I only have a 24 digit number.  Any idea where to go from here?  

My old PC and new PC are both running Windows 11.I installed my old PE 14 on new PC and copied all raw photos from old to new (same file locations on an F: drive).  I backed up the catalog on old and copied to my external drive.I created a new Catalog on new (PE 14) and then upgraded to PE 2024 app and then converted the catalog.I then had PE 14 restore the backup that was sitting on my external drive.It appears that all the captions I typed in for the photos are still there. What do I need to do to get my Star Ratings back?  I am willing to start from scratch.  Should I up grade PE14 on my old PC first? 

Hi Anyone know how I can find the the adjustment bars (saturation, colur, highlights etc) in the quick edit section please. They came but I lost them. All I can find are the tabs for; smart fix, exposure, lighting, color, balance, sharpen. Thanks

I'm scanning in lots of family photos and then cleaning them up with my Adobe Photoshop elements app. All photos are stored in JPEG format, hence include EXIF tag information. I read these tags with an app I wrote to display photos the way I want them. When I clean these photos  up, I always include the Adobe EXIF tag called Description Writer. Via an Internet search, I can get the  hex code for almost every EXIF tag, but I'm unable to find the hex code for the tag Description Writer. That's in spite of multiple Internet searches, and speaking with seveal agents at Adobe. Does anyone have a clue as to what the code for this tag is, so that I can read it with an EXIF reader?

I try to use the Filters / Blur / Lens Blur option in Photoshop Elements 2024 but it doesn't actually do anything. I tried it with regular JPG images, layers, etc. In my previous PE version it works as intended. When I adjust any slider, the progress bar at the left bottom corner appears and the app seemingly does the calculations but the image preview doesn't change, nor does the image itself if I OK the process. You can see on the attached image how there is no blur applied at all even though the radius is set to 44, but setting any other slider to any value doesn't do anything either. I also tried both the "faster" and "more accurate" methods, all sliders, different iris shapes, to no avail. Is this a possible bug or does PE 2024 need something else for this feature to work?

I have been wondering why the year that shhows on Album is not correct. Seems like I have had the incorrect year setting on my camera, which carries over to the PSE Album. how do I change the album years?

My system information is below.  I have an Epson 2800 that I use for normal printing and an Epson 15000 that I use for sublimation printing.  Ever since I installed the 15000  Photo Shop will not recognize the 2800.  I have tried setting it as the default with no success.  I have deleted the 15000 to try to get Photo Shop to recognize the 2800 But when my print screen in Photo Shop opens it opens with the 15000 in the Select Printer box.  I can change it to the 2800 and hit the print button but then an error occurs that says Could not print because of a program error.  Before I deleted the 15000 I was able to select the 2800 and it would not throw the error but I would get a message from my computer that it had not printed.  When i look at the printer que for the 2800 there would be nothing waiting to print BUT I could open the 15000 and it would show a job waiting to print.  So it appeared that even tho I had chosen the 2800 to print to Pho

Unfortunately a couple of years back we were the victim of Ransomware attack on our NAS drive.  We were not completely backed up and lost a year's worth of photos, some of which I was able to recover from other sources.   For those that we could not recover, when I went into EO 2018 the thumbnails were all still intact/displayed even though the actual photo was no longer connecting.  I was able to go in, click on the thumbnail and do a screen shot to recover some photos even though the low resolution was fuzzy but better than nothing.  Life got busy and yesterday I  finally decided to go in and capture some additional photos only to find the thumbnails for those missing photos no longer are being displayed.  The thumnails are now ? but still pointing to the missing files. Not sure what happened or if the cache got recreated somehow unbeknownst to me.  I hadn't backed up the catalog unfortunately.  Any ideas what happened or if there is
