Photoshop Elements

Hi folks, long term user, love the product.  My wife is unhappy (so me too!) with all the photos being duplicated after PSE23 organizer import from iphones (via USB).  I have been reading thru all of the related posts and cant seem to find a match to my scenario/artifacts, many posts may document workarounds (sd card, or use another app) or show no resolution.  Please help me parse this issue here, ty in advance for replies/recc's.  My baseline configs are PSE23 and PSE22, two windows computers (His and hers! - one win10, one win11), 1 networked synds418 Nas for storage.  I use "delete origonals", The result is duplicate photo's in my NAS storage folders.  Organizer seems to run as expected, but hangs after import, (i dont see the delete photos step anymore), I must force close PSE23.  After reopening/reboot?) PSE23 organizer I see a quick flash of "importing photos" (multiple photos). I still never see the delete photos step (like I used to)...

Can I  have PSE organizer automatically move 5 star images into a designated  5 star album?

[UPDATE SOLUTION FOUND: Inside the MAC system preferences under the 'accessibility' settings, my cursor size was a tiny bit larger than normal.]  Original Post: I'm having problems with the brush (see black outline of a square brush). It only paints a small area inside the outline. They should be exactly the same. It's almost impossible if you are trying to paint along an edge of something. How do I fix this setting so the brush and what it paints are the exact same size?  I've tried : every settings on Preferences-diplays and cursors, reloaded brushes with different sets, reset preferences on launch, adjusted every possible setting (hardness, etc) but it remains the same- where the outline is bigger than the paint area. I'm using a macbook pro and desktop with trackpad (not tablet-pen).  It happens on all brushes.

I'm using the trial version of elements 2024 and I'm finding that when I open an image in elements to do some editing the image is very dark. If I edit the image as seen on the screen to what looks OK it prints totally washed out or even if I save the edited version then view it on any other program it is also very washed out. The initial image is quite tonally balanced so if I print the original image it's quite good. I had this same problem with another program that I had and it was something in settings I could change but dont remember what. Any thoughts. I know its got nothing to do with my screen settings because if I load the same unedited version of the image from other programs, eg Windows, Gimp, Coral, Photopad it looks fine and not dark at all. Using a PC with windows 10.

I am using PSE 2018 on an iMac. When I open a photo of 4 people and go to "adjust facial features" in expert mode, circles appear around face of only 3 people for selection of their faces.  Unfortunately, the one I need to adjust is the face not selected with a circle. this face is a little more in shadow, so I brightened image.  How can I select this face?

Hi, I'm planning on taking star trail photos (about 100-125 of them). Based on what I read online, the recommended workflow is to edit the images in Elements (or Photoshop), export them as JPGs and then stack them in StarStax to export as one JPG. That seems hard since I don't know how I would edit hundreds of photos in Elements before getting them into StarStax. Is there a different way to do this? Thanks.

Hello We moved our Photopshop Elements Organizer catalog from an old computer to a newer computer. On both computers the same version (2021) is installed. To transfer the catalog we used the built in backup and restore functionality of PSE Organizer, as described in the help article. (Full Backup) The problem is: On all photos that are newer than 2012 the tags are missing, while on the photos that are from 2004 - 2012 the tags were transfered as expected.The categories were not transferred at all. Has anybody an idea why the tags on the never photos are not visible/were not transferred and how we can get them back? Thank you 

Hi, when logged in I can see my purchases of Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements and Lightroom from November 13 2018. Recently using a new computer, I have tried to download these again. It will not allow it, instead telling me "This installer is no longer available". As such, i have had to subscribe for now to the very expensive cloud version of these products. I would like to use the software I have previously purchased however. How, where can i download these items that I own? Thank you

I use Photoshop Elements 2023.Over the past couple of months it appears Premiere 2024 was released and ever since whenever I use Photoshop I have to see a popup for Premiere to trial etc.Is there anyway to get rid of this permanently?

I want to resize a photo taken and  make it  16 x/ 11 (using no restrictions0    the image disappears as I enter the dimensions.          also, the dimesions are in  pixels ... not inches and a pain to changae every time     my program has worked for years corretly.    can I reset default?

When I try opening a raw file (NEF) in Editor in PE2020 I get a pop up ad for Photoshop Elements 2024.  When I click on "Continue Using Photoshop Elements", Editor totally crashes.  I can open .jpg's fine in Editor.  Camera Raw worked fine about a month ago.  The only thing that I can see that's changed is that Adobe has inserted an ad for PE2024.  Thoughts?

I recently upgraded from Photoshop elements 16 to 24.  after tye upgrade Organizer locked up and now says the the last time an abnormal exit was detected and will not load the Catalog.  I uninstalled the program and reinstalled and had the same result.  Now I can' view my pictures.  What is the solution?

I created an image in QuarkXPress. It includes a photo and text. I wanted to use a logo with a transparent background. I have the logo created in Photoshop Elements. I have saved it in multiple formats. Everytime I place the image with the transparent background in Quark the transparent background reverts to white. I am exporting the final image out of Quark and into PE. Is there a way to overay the transparent background image in Photoshop Elements?

Hi again, I have this question but I don't remember if it was solved yet.In my current workflow, I see this:(the preview of the layers don't show up anymore). Do you know why, or if is a bug?  Detail: It's since I use Photoshop elements that happens this. At the beginning, I can see the preview of each layer, but after a while when I working, or make some 'merge', the preview disappear. Thanks again for the help in advance! 

I just bought a new Macbook (MacOS Sonoa) and migrated the contents of the old one to the new one. I bought and downloaded a new elements 2024 and it installs fine, but it won't start. I realzied that I had an older elements version (2018) on my old Mac, the license from old employer had expired. I tried to remove the older version using the uninstall option but got an error “{C630723C-FEF3-4E76-83AD-05059121301A}” needs to be updated. The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of MacOS. Contact the developer for more information.Any idea, how I can remove the old Elements/Premiere version Adobe states not to just trash them.Many thanksCAR 

I have a new 26 inch Asus monitor.  I used to be able to modify the displayed PSE Window horizontally and vertically to adjust it's size.  In PSE 2024 I can modify the PSE displayed window vertically but not horizontally.  I usually have mulitple Windows open.  I can modify the Windows of other open software vertically and horizontally but not the PSE window.What setting do I need to choose to adjust the PSE window horizontally? Thanks in advance.

I installed PSE Organizer 2024 and downloaded many images into it.  If I have more than one image on the screen, the file names and the rating tags of the images are not displayed.  My previous versions of PSE always displayed file names and rating tags underneath an image. What setting do I change to display file names and rating tags underneath images?Thanks in advance.

BACKGROUND: Purchased new Win11 pc to replace Win10 pc.  Called Adobe to ask if my old v2015 Photoshop Elements & Premier Elements could be backed up & restored to v2024 on new pc.  Help agent assured me it could be done. He sent website links to show how to do it.  Downloaded programs OK.RESTORE ATTEMPTSRead instructions and knew this wasn’t going to be easy.  My v2015 was stored in a custom location and usernames for the pcs were different.  Talked with several Adobe help agents. First attempt was not successful.  Catalog was converted.  Restore Original Folder Structure worked except halfway down the path it created an extra user folder and another folder with the wrong username, sending my pictures to a location that doesn’t exist, preventing them from reaching new Pictures directory.  All pictures would be shown as “missing links”.  I was then told the v2015 catalog could not be restored directly--would be a two-step proces

Looking for the Elements visual dictionary. The help feature attached to the Elements editor lists a link to it, but Im being sent to a general guide page wherein I dont see any such item. A search for it thru the Adobe site lists this item, but again takes me to the same general user guide page. Where is the visual dictionary? It seems like it would be a handy reference to photgraghy and graphic design terminlogy of which Im not familiar.George 

When I rename a catalog in Photoshop Elements, the software seems to create a new catalogue by adding a folder in the location where my catalogs are with the new catalog name and copying the relivant files.   I noticed that the folder with the old catalog name is not deleted and is seems like all of hte relivant files are still there.  I did not expect this, thining ti would just remane the catalog folder name.  Do I have this correctly.  Is there any harm done by deleteing the old catalog files and folder? Thanks for the help. Tom

Bonjour,  Y a t il un moyen de sauvegarder le tri des photos qu'on fait manuellement sur Adobe Bridge? En effet, à chaque fois que je trie manuellement mes photos sur Adobe Bridge, en les classant par couleur et sujet par exemple, une fois fermé Adobe Bridge, jquand je réouvre, je ne retrouve pas mon tri manuel et toutes les photos sont de nouveau désorganisées. Je n'ai pas trouvé le moyen de sauvegarder ce tri manuel qui m'est très utile pour composer un projet de livre. Merci de votre aide
