Hi! I can't seem to find how to create a repeater that scales the copies while keeping the same distance between them.

Hello community! I recently updated to AE26 and now when I paste text from illustrator, the formatting gets lost. Did anyone experience this? Please, is there a workaround in order to keep the text formatting, specially OpenType options??

I'd like to create a line that gets fatter as it lengthens from left to right, but I want the previous thicknesses to remain unchanged, so at full length it will look kind of like a stretched out triangle (one pixel on the left, 25 pixels on the right). I've tried combining the stroke width property with the trim path property, but that fattens the entire line as it grows (see attachment), not the effect that I want.I realize I could draw the final shape and reveal it with an animated mask, but I was hoping to do it just with properties for simplicity. Is there a way?

Don’t get me wrong. If this image showed up in an artist’s portfolio, I’d be more than happy to appreciate it.But for someone like me who opens After Effects multiple times a day, this splash screen feels like a jump scare. It actually gives me nightmares.I know I can modify the splash screen by following tutorials online, but doing so triggers Adobe to think I’m using a pirated copy and throws a five-day grace period warning at me. That doesn’t exactly feel like a long term solution.Other than that, I haven’t run into many issues with the 2026 version. It includes features I’ve been waiting for a long time, and I really don’t want to hold off on upgrading just to wait for the next release.

I can access alt character styles in PSD but why not in AE?? I have a font called Helvetica Now which offers a curved lower case L and in PSD can access but not in AE. I have to create text in PSD and copy/paste over to AE.

Hello, I created some After Effects files on Windows one year ago with After Effects 2025 or maybe 2024. In november, my Windows computer crashed, as well as my old Macbook Pro 2019 Intel (!).So I had to buy a new Macbook M4Max.But I can’t open any old After Effects files on this new Macbook : it crashes.As far as I remember, I could open these files on my old Macbook Intel.Here is what After effects tells me :Can someone help me on this ?ThanksPS : I checked “enable Logging” in the help menu to see some log issues, and now I cannot uncheck it…. is there a way to stop logging ?

Adding in point controls only allows me to reposition by changing the values, not by sliding it around with my mouse. I want to be able to snap my mogrts to my guides.

 If you’re a plugin developer using the GPU API in the After Effects SDK, here’s a guide (written by Claude Code) on using Vulkan instead. I was completely stuck on a problem recently, where the GPU API just could not do what I needed it to do, and I was told that the Vulkan SDK could solve my problem.I hope this helps anyone in the same position. Hi! I have a Premiere Pro timeline with  many linkes After Effects compositions (about 8 comps). Whenever I'm working in After Effects to change something and I save the project, ALL linked compositions in Premiere Pro go Offline. I need to relink them, and I can relink them no problem, becasue the project hasn't gone anywhere and hasn't changed name, but I lose my render files in Premiere and constantly relinking is being a total drag for my workflow. Does anyone know if there's a fix for that?

HiNot sure what is happening, but on my old iMac I have the AE 25 and I rendered out a video this afternoon and it was fine. So I thought I would pre-render some that I did a few years ago. I opened them, checked everything was there, trimmed them, and prepared for render. I added to ME and it said ready. Set it rendering and came back 3 hours later, and all three videos had some elements missing, and then after the main section it seemed to add like 20 minutes of blank video, that isn’t even in the timeline and then the end credit section.Does anyone know what this bug is?ThanksRob

I normally like to change the frame rate in the preview panel so that I can quickly check my video for anything that needs fixing. But I no longer see that option, has it been removed? 

After installing AE 2026. The application opens but then freezes. ALL UI panels present has white and the dark mode gradually appears. When any click is attempted the application freezes. Requiring a re-boot to clear. I’m running a Yoga 9i Pro with an RTX 4070 Laptop iGPU.With Microsoft warning the Jan-26 patch Tuesday “2026-01 Security Update (KB5074109) (26200.7623)” has caused widespread user issues. I suspect this may be the smoking gun?Has any community experienced similar performance issues? And are there any work aroundsAE 2025 works just fine.Regards Leicester 348

I've had AE on my computer for years, and finally had a potential use for it. I went to start it up and this message showed up.  I clicked OK, but this was followed by  And finally this showed up: To elaborate a bit more: I have been running the Lightroom family, Photoshop, Bridge, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premier Pro with no issues at all. I have reset the Preferences I have reinstalled the application I have verified that all is well with Privacy and Security in Apple's System Settings.   Please note the very last suggestion in the screenshot just above where I am writing. It states it wants me to review and "fix" the issue that I encountered in the previous two messages. Other than the "OK" button, there was not much to go on.   BTW, as long as I have your ear, what is the difference between Adobe After Effects 2025.app and Adobe After Effects Render Engine 2025.app. (I get the exact same results whichever one I click)   I'm at a loss, suggestions?

My project consists of 2 spinning movie reels and a filmstrip composition with animated frames. I intend to align the filmstrip along a predefined path now, as if it loops between the movie reels. The common practice to copy the shape path and paste it onto the layer's position property displaces the filmstrip composition as a whole, but does not align it. Anyone has an idea how to proceed?

So I have one layer and one composition in a certain project that have effects attached to them that I need to apply to MANY videos. The effect is not easy to make either, so I was hoping there would be a way to copy it from one project to the other. Some people suggested Ctrl+C Ctrl+V, but I am unable to open more than one after effects project at once. Also, importing the other AEP into my current one glitches it out severely, and I cannot get that to work. My composition imports properly (the one with the effects in it) as well as the full composition of the other video. However, the solids are placed into a folder, and when that folder is opened, it contains the solid from the composition (for the effect) and two adjustment layers that are just pure white. How can I simply copy these two objects from my initial project into my new one and retain the effects?Ethan

Can someone please take a screencap of your "Default" workspace in Adobe After Effects. I think I may have overwrote mine when I was moving some panels around and accidently "Saved Changes to This Workspace." Just needing to check this against a clean copy. Thanks!   

Hi!I've worked for hours and hours making a cool video in After Effects, but suddenly it stopped responding and I haven't saved since I started the project! I really wanna know if there is any way I could restore that composition. No, I don't have autosave on. I haven't closed After Effects because I'm too scared it will delete the video...

I'm facing issues with rendering in the latest version of Adobe After Effects (2026).When I try to render using a specific codec (QuickTime DVCPRO HD 1080i60), the output looks fast-forwarded, as if it were playing at twice the normal speed. Additionally, the second half of the render appears as a black screen.This issue started occurring after updating to the 2026 version.Thanks,Luis

I’m working with design restrictions where text can build upwards, but there is a defined bottom border.I’m looking for a setting or an expression that stacks the text upwards after every line break, instead of the default where text drops below the original line.I tried the expression from AEscreens.com but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. When I try it, it simply centers all the text vertically.I want the bottom-most text line to stay at a set y-coordinate.

 When launching After Effects 2025.2 I receive this error message. The most recent beta gave me this error as well. I reinstalled my Maxon Plugins but that didn't solve the problem. I'm on a M1 MacBook Pro. OS: Sonoma 14.0 

I've got a weird one is not making any sense to me. I've tried all sort of combinations of "true/false", "checkboxes" and "null" logic blocks to solve the following, but nothing seems to work properly. In the following section of blocks, I've got a variable (key location comp file) that is populated earlier in the script.  As you can see in the console when this script is run, there is a list of 2 files in the directory. Which "should" mean that "key location comp file" = true, and the custom input dialog with "select comp" should execute.But, the script seems to passover the "if/do" and moves down to the "else if/do" where the "No Comp Currently exists" dialog is launched. What am I doing incorrectly? I've tried inversing the logic with "does not equals" false and that seems to work "sometimes", but not always. As always, any input you can give is appreciated.
