Good evening, I spent some time looking for a solution, but I did not find anything on the Internet. Please advise! After adding the Bend effect, and any other distortion effect. The anchor point of this effect is not attached to the figure, and when moving the figure, the points remain in place. While the figure can be at the other end of the composition.The effect is as if it is attached to the center of the composition, not to the figure. Even if I attach it to it.

Sorry if this is a stupid or obvious question.  Usually, you hit f4 to bring up the track matte column, right? But ever since switching to MacBook 15" where the f keys are substituted by the touch bar, that short cut won't work.  (even by holding function key).  I also can't access it by right clicking "switch" and selecting "column," as shown on a track matte tutorial.  I'm on the latest AE, by the way.  Can anyone tell me how to bring up the trkmatte options?Thanks!

Issue:When previewing a composition in After Effects, the video continues to play, but the red timeline indicator (playhead) gets stuck or freezes. Hi everyone,I’m facing persistent lag and extremely choppy playback in After Effects 2025. My laptop is fully updated and has solid specs:32GB RAMRTX 4060 (8GB VRAM)1TB SSDI’ve already tried every optimization tip from YouTube tutorials—disk cache settings, GPU acceleration, resolution tweaks, etc.—but nothing seems to help. Even simple compositions stutter badly.Is anyone else experiencing this with AE 2025? Could it be a bug with the latest version? Any insights or fixes would be appreciated! Want me to tailor this for a specific forum like Adobe Community or Reddit?

Hola, acabamos de actualizar el AE a la última versión (25.3.2) y no abre los desplegables de las casillas, por ejemplo en la ventana de nueva composición para elegir la resolución al presionar el desplegable con las distintintas opciones de resolución se cierra inmediatamente, y lo mismo pasa en otros apartados con casillas desplegables. Y así nos pasa con casillas desplegables en otros soft de Adobe... ¿A alguien le ha pasado? ¿Alguna solución?Sistema operativo Windows 11.Gracias

 i'm trying to recreate this particle effect with Trapcode Particular - i was sort of was succesfull too but it is nowhere near close as this one in the video. I tried few options in Trapcode Particular but couldn't figure it out.     

I'm not sure what to call it, and I've been stuck on google or Adobe tutorials for far too long trying to figure out what I am sure is basic 101 of "after effects.  Clearly I am new and this is my first assignment.  Which is to move text from behind a shape to out in the open after 1.5 seconds.  I have clicked on anchor point, opacity, and position.  No matter what I try the word never moves.  I can get the box shape to move, and the colors that represent the stoplight to go from 0% > 100%, but nothing I try does anything to the words.  I have been googling for over an hour.  Been scowering Youtube.  I'm not on adobe "unhelpful" article since the customer support number is only open M-F.  I don't kwow what this is called so not sure what to goole, search or even ask ChatGPT.  Don't know which buttons to click to anchor the text so when I move the playhead I can re-anchor it somewhere else. Hi all,I'm trying to write a script that creates consistent dash lengths in shape layers, but i cannot seem to operate on the 'Stroke/Dashes/offset' propertyFrom digging (using scripting + property inspection) I found that the Dashes group always contains:Dash 1Gap 1Dash 2Gap 2Dash 3Gap 3OffsetWhen working in the UI, if I add a Dash or Gap, After Effects automatically makes the Offset property visible, and each dash and gap as you add them setting a value. However, when I do the same via scripting, Dash 1 and Gap 1 become visible as expected, but the Offset never shows up in the UI. Hi gang; I am primarily a Windows developer and I have released a few AE plugins in the past.  For those that I also released Mac versions for, I purchased a second-hand Mac, setup XCode and compiled my plugins. I released them like that and never really had any issues from Mac users about notarization since I suppose it's pretty common to allow un-notarized apps to run on Mac. I now see in this update: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/notarizing-macos-software-before-distribution that all plugins must now be notarized before release. I guess this means now adding an extra step. My understanding is that it involves running the notarization tool locally. Is that correct? Is this a required step for plugins that you want to upload to the app store or is it also required for someone like myself that simply wants to distribute them online? Next, I see that all Apple software also now needs to be signed. Even when multiple layers are selected, the distribute alignment functions remain unavailable. This issue makes it impossible to evenly distribute selected layers horizontally or vertically.

I am creating album artwork for my band's upcoming album - I am not very knowledgeable in Illustrator, but I am very good with After Effects - any promotional videos or photos I will create in After Effects because I know the presets and plugins. I need to make sure any artwork I make is in CMYK and not RGB - is this an option in After Effects and does anybody know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

I'm trying to set a motion blur on a simple shape with 3 key frames scaling it up & down. I see the main Blur Icon - but doen't see the one that sets it for the shape /layer I am trying to affect. Below is a screenshot. Many thanks! BTW - I'm in CS6.

I am using a Mac Studio M2 computer with OS 14.7.7 (Sonoma). In my After Effects 25.4.7 settings/preferences, I have the maximum disk cache size set to 100 GB. However, if I don't frequently check my cache folder, it grows well beyond the 100 GB limit I have set. A few minutes ago, I cleared out 200 GB from my cache folder. I clear the folder through the proper steps - Preferences - Media & Disk Cache - Disk Cache - Empty Disk Cache. I'm looking for a way for After Effects to not exceed 100 GB of cached files. The proper procedure doesn't seem to be working correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi There, I haven't experienced this using similar footage in previous versions (still rotibrush 3 though) so sorry if this is user error. But since upgrading to 25.4.0, I've immediately noticed that painting to add/subtract no longer works on the frame painted on, it only works on frames afterwards. See attached... Here's the frame I've painted to add - notice the corner of the bed still isn't included? But in the frames that follow, the painted area is correctly added... With the previous version of AE, add/subtract also worked on the frame painted on - have tried various mask prview modes, and playing with chatter/feather etc. And am also seeing this on multiple frames - basically any frame I need to tweak. Does anyone know how to fix or what I'm doing wrong, or if this has changed in this version? Any help much appreciated. I am at a loss...the last thing I remember doing was hitting F9 to make an easy ease on a layer and suddenly all of my layers except for one disappered out of my comp viewer. The layers are still in my project, I just can't see them. The screen shot of what I am looking at is below. Please help!

Hi, i am trying to build this CEP extension for Adobe After Effects where it will 80% depend on scene edit detection, and i tried to find the API to trigger the scene edit detection just by clicking a button , but i couldnt find any useful information , i would appreciate it if anyone helped me .

I have recently started using ae and I wanted to make the 3d text stay on the bridge. I have tried redoing the detailed analysis multiple times and everytime it becomes the same. No matter which points i choose it still moves. When i place ground and plane then it stays where I would like it but as soon as i change the angle or move the xyz axiys a tiny bit it goes back to moving alot. Idk what to do anymore. It was shot on a dji drone if that makes any difference. The average pixel error is 0.9

So I'm making a Call Of Duty edit, but I'm having an issue.  I have applied Twixtor Pro to sync the clips, I slowed down the clips to 30% speed, but the issue I'm having is that the actual clips stops before the footage does, (example picture below).  Please help me fix this because this edit is going very well and I really do not want to scrap it.  Thank you!

I use mac, so I edit in rec.709-A instead of regualr rec.709. That way, the footage looks the same in DaVinci as it does after export, and when uploading to the internet.  The problem comes when importing footage that I have exported form DaVinci into AE. The colors are more saturated and contrasty. Its dificult to match manualy through grading, and it makes me think that it has to be a way.  I have yet encontered anyone with the same problem, or a solution.  Soluton or suggestions on how to fix this is appreciated!
