Hello, Iam trying to use an extension for After Effects I have installed properly (used aescripts for it).However, When i Launch Affter Effects and i go to Windows and go for Extensions, it is greyed out and not clickable. I tried to restart in debug mode, empty cache, check the versions, nothing seems to work, and I didn't find an exact answer on internet. Thanks a lot !  

Hi all,   I'm using adobe after effects cs3, and sometimes I get the error message as show on the red line at the lower section of my image in my attachment  image file which reads:"Refresh Disabled(release Caps Lock to refresh view)"This error message actually affects some actions my after effects project.Please, does anyone know how I can solve this problem or how to  "release Caps Lock to refresh view "Thanks and hope some can helpUgoharris.

Hi,I am using AE 15.1.1 (build 12) on a Windows 10 machine (specs at the bottom).I've created a simple composition with just a camera layer (all default settings) and a text layer set as 3D.When using the 2 Views - Horizontal layout, the right view is showing fine as Active Camera. The left view is completely blank (picture below). The parameters beneath the views do change when I click between the two views, but there is nothing on the left side: no blue corner triangles, no description of the camera view angle (Top), nothing.This has happened previously and restarting AE helped that time. It was working until I restarted AE again and now the left view is missing again. This is definitely a noob question, and I am STUCK with my plugin development. Here's the very basic idea of what I'm trying to achieve. - Layer 1: Keyed/Roto'ed footage- Apply plugin- It's as if Layer 1 is duplicated, and the 'back' layer has a Gaussian blur on it. How do you do that in an AE plugin? I think glow plugins are like this. You're not really affecting the input footage-- that stays as is, but you are affecting a copy of that footage and then comping it over/under it. 😬 Thanks!

Hi, at the moment I am learning the basic principles of animation in AE, and I have encountered a problem. In any composition with animation that I have created, the CTRL+ALT shortcut for creating a bezier curve directly in the composition window does not work, and the "Move across time" button is also blocked, but as soon as I open other people's compositions, everything works. I don't quite understand what the problem could be, maybe someone  encountered something similar? Even the vertex transform tool works exclusively in the diagram editor.  I would be very grateful if anyone could help!  

I am having a problem where everytime I try to importat a Photoshop file as a Comp, it crashes.  I am import the same files as footage and they import fine.  It happens every time with all verisons of AE 22, up to 22.1.1.  The project it creates as a result of the crash as the comp created form the PS file, but nothing in it.   I have attached the crash warning.  anyone else seen this or found a solution?  My workaround it to importat each layer individually as footage.  Thanks,Scott

I'm trying to make an remake of this logo orbit/spin thing in After Effects.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ_FHOk2P6c Full video for example) First of all, is this an animation preset? If so where could i find it?If it's something custom, is there an tutorial for it? i don't know what it is called so i couldn't find it. How can i recreate it? I tried to make it by parenting the logo to null object and keyframing it in 3D Space but it's good and not even close to the one in example.

Hi, I dnt understand something. I want a mask path (I masked a text) to follow a shape layer's path. so That I dnt need to create multiple keyframes. but the text mask path changes its position the moment I whip it with the rectangle's path keyframes. I want the animation to be same, red rectangle will reveal and simultaneously the text mask will reveal another text beneath (white text,) . so long I created keyframes for two layers. one rectangle path and the mask path. Then Suddenly I think why dnt I use expression. I can use expression to link one's path with another. right? But as usual I failed. 😣 please help me. please 😥 no way I can insert gif or any images. weird       

 I don't quite understand from which axes are the rotation values in the timeline panel of a 3D layer measured? I used to think that the Z rotation is measured from the normal vector of the layer, and X and Y rotations from the X and Y axes in the plane of the layer and mutually perpendicular to the normal vector. But this experiment (linked video) shows otherwise.In the experiment above, I changed the Y rotation value first, but upon changing the X rotation value the layer doesn't seem to rotate about the transformed X axes (which was transformed due to the Y rotation), rather it rotates about the X axes parallel to the comp's X axis. I'm certainly missing something.GPT told something like rotation values are calculated in an order. Always x first, y second, and then z, and that's the reason why the final result looks like this. That even though you've made the x rotation after the Y rotation it would still be calculated as x first then y. I sure can't trust that though.

This was weird. I was trying to rememeber where to set my default output module, and while in Preferences > Output I noticed "Enable ProRes hardware accelerated encoding, if available." First off, Adobe, how about removing the "ifs" and instead only enable this option if hardware accelerated encoding is available? Is ProRes hardware encoding available on this computer? I don't know, but After Effects knows.  After enabling the option, I was told to restart After Effects.Upon relaunching After Effects, the app told me I was using Adobe products on other computers and that I needed to sign out of one of them first. AE consistently freezes during preview after a few minutes — the interface remains responsive, but the preview image stays locked. how to solve missing/black frame in after effects guys? Im editing 2k video clip with 1080p composition setting

After Effects warning: Undo group mismatch, will attempt to fix. Have reinstalled After Effects a number of times, and now have a new computer. IT support at work are baffled. This happens as a result of not being able to import files in the normal way (File> Import, double click the media browser, right click on media browser and import) This is not a continuous issue, when I first open AE, I am able to work as normal, import at normal. Only after importing a few different comps does this begin to happen. I am suddenly unable to import any type of file or media. It does not respond or react to opening a box to even begin browsing for what I wish to import. The only other way to import would be to drag and drop my desired media into the project. As a result, when attempting to edit key frames for that imported item, this error (as before) will appear, and all imported media will disappear. Any idea how on earth to fix this issue, or what else I can do? The work around I have at the

guys can anyone help with this issue i only wanna see blurmocurves graphs but twitch appears too that blue and pink thing .  when I only select blurmocurves, all the effects on that layer are automatically selected when I enter the graphs, even if I don't select them, and even the sound graphs are visible. I just select blurmocurves and click on the graphics editor

Hi guys I'm working on a project where I need to rotoscope a bank card to change it's color.I've made the roto in Mocha and transfor it into a mask.I've added a motion blur in the mask settings, it works fine but ... the angle and phase are wrong.I went to the comp settings to change it but it seems that it doesn't make any difference.It works with moving objects created in Æ but it doesn't with masksAny idea? Thanx

Hello,  Using After Effects 2020 for some reason the keyboard shortcuts for "I" (go to layer in point) and "O" (go to out) don't work. I've tried manually setting it in the shortcut config, i've tried resetting the preferences and it still doesn't work. Is it a known bug or am i forgetting something or not doing something right?   Thank you

I can't find any deatilled answers for this. What have: a 4k 16:9 music video What I want to do: Put this video in a VR space, preferably, the video is playing behind and in front of the user to there is little stretching. I also want to be able to preview what this look like in 360 space, so i can drag around to simulate was the end product will look like. What I have tried: Creating a 2:1 composition, adding my video to this comp, and applying the 'plane to sphere effect' Image of what im left with attached.   

Hi using a mac. Just updated it to Sonoma 14.0. After I updated it, i connected my HDD formatted in Extended Journaled.  My after effects project files were opening through after effects v23.6.  I am unable to save changed i make to these files since this error is appearing -File Couldnt be open for writing: /filepath ( 3 :: 0 ) The only way i am able to use the save feature on after effects is to 'save as' the file on my desktop. this is not sustainable for me as i barely have any space on my system disk and hence need help with the issue.I have around 4 TB space on my HDD where i want to save.  This is across all after effects files on my HDD and not file specific issue.  I have checked the entire path's permissions and everything is read and write. I have checked the application after effects and its permissions are also read and write.  I have shut down and turned on my computer.  I have checked name extensi

I get this pop up everytime After Effects starts up.  I'm on a 2019 iMac running macOS 11.2.3 with the latest version of AE 18.0.0 It seems plugin or script related, because it showed up when I copied all my Plug-ins/Presets/Scripts folders over from my After Effects 2020 folder to the new 2021 folder.
