Hey there guys, I've been asked to do something for a skating company where a trail is produced behind the skater in some footage. This is easy enough to do, as I can just Mocha track the skater then draw a stroke path on that track, but the problem comes with trying to keep that trail stuck to the ground afterwards. If I do the Mocha track, then 3D cam track the footage then stick a camera in, the Mocha track just warps out of place. What do you think would be the best workflow for this. Track first, then maybe just draw on the path afterwards? I might be thinking of this completely backwards haha, so please give me some ideas if you have another way of approaching.

Hey guys.  I have RTX 4070 super, i9 14900K, 1TB + 1TB samsung Pro SSD and 32+32 ram. As you can see, in attached picture there is only 3 file on this app and look at that render time. I cant even preview this 5 sec video on quarter res.  Does anyone know how to fix this? I bought a new desktop for this and payed almost 3K$ and still same problem. I feel scammed 

Very new to After Effects, only working on premade graphics and templates. On two separate files I've tried rendering graphics with transparent backgrounds, and for whatever reason the colors all change to blue after it renders. First file I used was a red, white, and blue patriotic sequence and all my reds looked fine until I opened the finished rendered file in VLC or in Premiere.  Same issue with the file I'm working on now, everything looks like the correct shade of green in the project, while it's rendering, and only turns green after I open the finished file. Exporting through Media Encoder results in the colors all working properly, but I don't want to have to open ME every time I need to render something when I'm not working with complicated stuff. Above are photos of the colors in AE, while it's rendering in AE, and then afterwards in VLC. Hi, I have a problem.I have a comp with some looped movement (any kind). When I use it in another comp and apply time remapping with loopOut, everything breaks.First, the last frame disappears! (Seriously, when are you going to fix that? Where does it go?)Fine, I add an extra keyframe one frame before the last frame to make it loop properly (why can’t this just work automatically?)But if I turn on motion blur - everything breaks again. The motion blur glitches on the loop seam, and I have no idea how to fix it.   

Hi,I'm working on some text for a video and when attempting to play back or render the video with the text layers, After Effects glitches out constantly, with random text layers flickering in and out of places they shouldn't be. I've tried restarting the program, but this only caused the issue to spread to other parts of the video. This is happening when playing back in After Effects, rendering in After Effects, and rendering in Adobe Media Encoder. It's a very frustrating problem, especially as I spent hours making sure the text was frame-accurate, only for After Effects to crap all over my work.Below is a video showcasing the problem, and also an image showing the project itself, to clarify that the text layers are not overlapping and that this is not a user fault.Google Drive VideoI hope someone can help.Thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded to win 11 and when previewing in after effects (24.1) my cti (the red line thats supposed to move in real time) moves a few frames then freezes, along with the preview time. Changing between gpu and softare rendering didnt work, changing some settings like the audio output device fixed the problem, but it came back the next day/ in the next ae session/ when I created a new project. My projects barely have a few layers, my pc specs should be enough (i5 14400 rtx 4070 super 64 gb ram). Never had this problem on my old pc (i5 9500 gtx 1650 32 gb ram) with windows 10 and the same ae version.

Hello,I have been slowly learning AE for the past few years. I am finally getting good enough to create temp comps.I want to do a sky replacement on a shot that rotates 360 degrees. I have a good camera solve, color range to key out sky is good.  I have a sky  element that is 12079 x 2416. My project is 1920 x 1080. I dont understand how to bring the sky in larger than the comp size. I tried it as a new compostion, but could not properly link the 3D camera to it.  How to import it so it is larger than the project/comp size? The other question is, I set the ground plane based on good track points. How can i move it over so it is in the enter of the comp? I guess pan behind tool doesn't work in 3d. Question about the Roto Brush in After EffectsI'm having some questions about how the Roto Brush in After Effects determines the selection area.What criteria does it use to decide what gets selected? I assume it considers factors like color, edges, and object recognition, but even when I explicitly exclude certain areas, it sometimes still re-selects them after a few frames. In some cases, the same area keeps getting selected no matter how many times I try to correct it.Even when working on relatively simple areas like a face, I often find that if I render and walk away, the brush has ended up selecting completely unrelated parts of the frame.Would adjusting the contrast, color, or sharpening the edges of the subject help improve accuracy?If there are any effective ways to improve Roto Brush results, I’d really love to hear them.I’m also using third-party AI-powered effects that allow prompt-based masking. I find the Ui and program font in general to be a bit small for my taste. Couldn't find any solutions to that.I've tried: Preferences > Appearence    And couldn't find such optionSearch for plugins          Couldn't find anyFiddling with the console (CTRL + F12), and messing with the font. Didn't work I've also heard of Force Scaling via Manifest File. Any Ideas?

When I export the PSD, it is wildly different to the comp. I've narrowed it down to inverted track mattes not working in the PSD. Anyone got a workaround for this?

Hey guys so i wanted to use the deep glow 2 effect, couldnt find it. I t was missing. So i downloaded it from aescripts, copied the plug in and pasted into after effects- support files - plug ins why is it not working? How else am I suppose to add plug ins?It was the free version because I am not willing to pay for something that I am suppose to have in after effects from the begining.  I had the german language version before but I deleted it and installed the english version. I dont know it that has anything to do with it.  I thank everyone for reading.   

Hello, On the "learn" tab in After Effects, no matter what In-App tutorial I select, only the same two tutorials are available in the "Learn" window: "Completely New? Start Here!" and "The Basics" Those tutorials do work but I can not progress beyond them or load any of the other in-app tutorials. Creative Cloud says my After Effects is up-to-date. I just installed it today. I'm operating on an M1 pro 2020 with an apple M1 chip running macOS Monterey.  Any help getting these running would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I have a new project in which when I try to open the comp window, the window wont open, or the program crashes.I have tried resetting and clearing the cache, and databases, uninstaleld and reinstalled, restarted, upgrating, and downgrading. new and loading projects. Version 25.0.01.  Chip : Apple M2 UltraMemory : 64 GBMac:15.5 (24F74)

Is it possible to reset a specific parameter, like PF_Param_FLOAT_SLIDER or PF_Param_POINT_3D, using the SDK, just as if the user have done it through the UI? I'm currently doing a workaround by copying the default value to the normal value like this:paramDef->u.fs_d.value = paramDef->u.fs_d.dephault;But this approach doesn't work for PF_Param_ARBITRARY_DATA, nor for the special case with PF_Param_POINT_3D initialized in the center with (50, 50, 0). Is there any other way?

I want to create the hour markers for a clock. To do this, I created a rectangle with a Shape Layer and used the repeater effect with the settings below. The clock has 12 hours, so dividing 360º by 12 we have 30. This means the repeater will rotate 30º between each marker to complete the clock's full circle. The problem is that the markers aren't perfectly aligned. The 12-hour marker should be aligned with the 6-hour marker, and the 3-hour marker should be aligned with the 9-hour marker. But is there a problem causing this misalignment. I'm using the latest version of After Effects, which was recently updated. This issue already occurred in the previous version.Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

So I have this problem with my mask, becuase when I create a mask, and I want to center it, to be in the center of my shape layer. I can't figure out how to do that, and I tried to contact Adobe Support, been trying plugins and tutorials on YouTube, but nothing on there, was what I was looking for, so I have been told to ask on here, so can somebody help me? Hello I don't know if it's a bug but , I import a video from my mobile phone on AE.when I review this video on the phone, is look like ok. even on my computer using VLC it's OK.BUt when I import to AE, the Brightness become very high. I don't understand how to fix the problem.someone can help!! 

I need to create a realistic moving rope which can be dynamic rearange by moving one of the null object. Null A should be at the start point of the rope and Null B at the end. It is possible by doing just AE or need some script for it? Thanks for any informations!

Hello,I create a after effect 2025 animation with spectrum.My song is  2.54min but my  composistion is 50s.I edit compo for add 2.54minAnd now my timeline is not at end.If i extend i have a slow song on my spectrum Please can you help me ?

I have been facing the same issue, I am using a 5070 ti with 32 gb ram. Any change i make in the composition even if it's justa scaale up does not get reflected. I need to restart the program and even after restarting if i preview it more than thrice the screen just freezes and again the preview rendering stops as before. This is honesly just frustrating to have to restart the whole thing even if you scale up or move to sligthly.

My after effects is really laggy I've allocated only 3gb ram to other applications and 1% cpu i have 16gb ram total and i closed all other applications but it's still really laggy. I've also checked task manager for other applications that might be taking up a lot of memory but the only thing that was taking up even a small amount was creative cloud helper. Can someone help? I can send my pc specs if u want.
