Here goes -Using Captivate 2019 11.0.0.243 on Windows 10. Publishing in SCORM 1.2 (don't ask..) to a Meridian Global LMS. (tested this on a Moodle LMS as well - same issues)Built custom knowledge checks (because the question slides basically stink from an accessibility and feedback point of view, but that's another story)- selecting an answer will increment a variable, change the state of the smart shape, and hide the button- checking answers will reveal states that indicate if the answers are correct or incorrect, show the playbar, and establish a score that triggers navigation to the next required screen (prescriptive learning with remediation loops)- clearing answers (another button) decrements all selected incremented variables, unhides buttons and returns smart shape states of answers to the normal / unselected state.This all works in perfectly in preview for each and every slide, and the prescriptive loops execute flawlessly.Then I publish it in html5 and chaos reigns.1. I know I must be missing something stupid here, but I cannot, for the life of me, get my timeline to show up. I have clicked on "view/timeline" and a checkmark is present there. I have tried clicking on the little arrow bar thingy above the slide, that doesn't work. I'm in edit mode... what else can it be? I have tried it with several different files. Any ideas about what I might be missing?

I'm using Captivate 2017.  Everytime I close a Captivate Module and then reopen it later, many items have disappeared such as the title, fill-in-the-blank answers, and text on buttons.  I can recover all of these items, slide by slide, by simply selecting everything on the slide and dragging everything a little in any direction.  When I drag a little, all of the missing items suddenly appear.  Also, I can recover it by clicking each item in the timeline.  Also, I can recover everything by copying slides to a newly opened, blank Captivate Project. BUT,  these solutions are laborious, and the fix doesn't  last.  I have to repeat the process everytime I reopen a module. I have to recover the items on both Filmstrip slides and Master slides. Do you know how to correct this problem so I will have stable copies that open correctly?

So I have been enjoying working with interactive video but there is one issue I can't seem to solve. When embedding youtube videos, there is the obvious delay in loading the video. The problem is that the project keeps playing in the background so depending on the internet connection speed and device, the timing of the overlay slides will be different. I have tried to anticipate this by delaying the bookmarks for a second or two but this doesn't work because speeds vary. I want to have an overlay slide appear at the correct point regardless of the loading speed of the video. Is there a seamless way to pause the timeline until the video finishes loading? Other creative solutions?Thanks!

Hello All.I am using Cp5 trial version. I also have Cp4 in my machine.I hv a requirement of synchronizing a set of audio files to one video.i will try to make it more easy to understand. I have a video(screen captured video of an application) without audio. I have to add audio to that video in Captivate.i have to synchronize multiple audio files to single video.I hv taken a highlight box & imported an .mp3 format audio into it. But when I see it in library a duplicate to the same audio file is created in .wav format. I have selected the unused items to delete, then the .mp3 file got deleted & .wav file exist in the library. But the size of the .wav file is 5 times more than that of .mp3.Its the same with all the audio files I import.I dnt want to use the files large in size. Why did this happen & what is the solution? Any kind of help would be appreciated.Pullela.

This is very frustrating.  Whilst the Spell Checker is great, why can't it work by also showing you the Slide or providing the Slide Number as to where the Spelling is wrong?The main reason, is that my text has been placed in 'Bubbles' / Shapes and these do not expand by themselves.Altering the spelling, especially if extra characters have been added by the Spell Checker, will 'over run' the size of the Bubbles and me having to hunt through the whole package to find where the Spell Checker has made changes.  I have hundreds of Slides to go through.This should be an easy process - perhaps the Adobe Developers can add this Captivate.ThanksRobert

Hi,I'm working on a project to host a Captivate quiz within a website. Came across one wired issue with reporting quiz results, I googled a lot and only few people had same issue while no solution provided. I really ran out of ideas and hope someone could point me to the right direction.When user passes the quiz, the Post Results popup appears above Results slide. Server can receive the results data after user clicking the Send button.However, Post Results button is never available, which means if user clicks Cancel on the popup, he/she won't be able to post results anymore.When user fails, Results slide is displayed straightaway, no popup displayed, no data posted.Here are snapshots of my quiz setting. Any field looks wired to you?I found a few scenarios that work fine but does not meet our requirements.If I turn on "Allow User to Review the Quiz", both passed/failed results can be posted to server -  But we don't want to allow user to review resultsIf Publish as SWF, Post Result

Hi all. I have this problem reoccurring on multiple slides ... I'm using Captivate 2019.The issue is that after a given point, no animation executes, although the sound keeps on playing.The thing I see as a common point, is that the slides with the problem are long ones.There are no buttons or other objects that I see will pause the project.I have checked all relevant advanced actions, but there is nothing there that should make the timeline stop (se the screenshot of one of the timelines below).The timeline/animation stops at different places on each of the slides with problems. Can anyone help me figure out what is causing this?

I'm needing to record a software sim. Navigate to File > Record New > Software Simulation. Make sure my settings are in place, click Record. Countdown begins. I start clicking different areas to do things. When I stop, only the very first slide was considered captured. There's literally only one slide in the film strip instead of like 20. Been using Captivate for awhile now and I've never seen this happen. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I've been working on a software simulation project and found that all of a sudden one of the slides has a random submit button on it that can't be seen in edit mode, but shows up when I preview the project. (Except when previewing as HTML5. I don't see it then.) I thought at first it might be an hide item/visible on output problem, but the button isn't anywhere on my timeline so I don't know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

Hi all, unfortunately this project never got finished but I learnt so much from doing it and was pleased with where it was heading that I wanted to share some of what had been developed. The idea was to create a game like module based in the fitting of a certain contact lens (with that in mind, please do bear in mind that the end user to this would have had opticial experience!).  The outline of the game was designed to walk them through the fitting steps and how each action could effect the patient during the fitting of the lens, so there were multiple outcomes to each question which effected the score and the cut sequences used. I had previously built an animation for them and the idea was to utilize as much of the created content from that as well as create new content for the game.Initially this was designed to be in flash and was to be purely used through a PC browser soI built a demo sample on that basis to show the client. Good afternoon,I'm working on a course for a client with a lot of text entry boxes and it's a long course, so the learner may not finish in one session. In our test LMS, the answers in the text entry boxes are retained as long as the learner stays in the session. However, if the learner exits the course and later goes back to any of the pages with text entry boxes that they had previously answered, their answers are no longer there. Any suggestions? I have the option to "Retain Text" in the properties checked and Self-Paced Learning and Enable Navigation checked in the TOC settings. The course does resume where the learner left off, but as mentioned, if they revisit any text entry slides, they have to reenter their answers. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I am having a problem identical to this one, but NOT on Prime:Re: Captivate 2019 courses will not load in Captivate Prime I also had no playback bar, I tried adding it and publishing - it didn't help.I also found the suggestion to add cp.movie.play(); to the index_scorm.html file, and it didn't help either.  I reached out to Adobe online and they rapidly tried to refer me to Creative Suite, then Prime, then gave me a generic support phone number.  Finally, someone from Prime support forwarded my e-mail to the Captivate team, but I haven't heard back yet.  I'm also contacting our LMS support team, but they haven't gotten back to me either.While I'm waiting to hear back from them, has anyone else experienced this and found a way to fix it?  I keep hoping that I can just add a magic line to the code somewhere to fix it, vs. starting over in 2017, which always worked fine.

All of my courses (nothing special, just blank projects with a short quiz at the end) created in captivate prior to the 2019 release load just fine in Captivate Prime. But now, all I get is the loading circle forever. I've created all of these through a windows 2010 system and they are SCORM enabled. Any thoughts?

I'm creating a Captivate module with multiple learning interactions. The entire module will ultimately be embedded within a PowerPoint slide deck. The learning interactions appear and function correctly when previewing within  Captivate, and when published to SCORM cloud. However, once I embed the file in PowerPoint, the slides with the learning interactions do not appear, while the slides without learning interactions appear and fucntion correctly. Any suggestion on how to move forward? I'm publishing an .SWF file. 

Hi! Is this a know issue or am I doing something wrong?I'm using the EaseInLeft/Right and EaseOutLeft/Right in my CP19 course on some objects and there seems to be no difference in setting the "ease" to 0, 100 or -100.In the flash preview I can see the it's behaving like it should, but in HTML5 it seems to be all the same.

Is there a way to change the letter 'y' to a different letter for a translated project? I have a German course and would like to use 'j' for 'Ja'. I assume the Y stands for Yes, but maybe I am wrong.Thanks - Martin

I built 5 courses, each is about 120-200 slides, most slides are software simulation, a combination of demonstration and training with a few intro slides (title, learning objectives - captions only) and a quiz.  There is no branching, no video, no audio.  4 courses were done in Captivate 2017, the last one was done in 2019, but the issues are very similar.3 courses seem to be working just fine, but the last 2 tend to throw up errors, usually in the second half of the project.  The most common errors are:a) background doesn't load - usually only captions and highlights show up, no backgroundb) "next" button doesn't work - seems frozen (don't even change on rollover)None of the problematic slides have any action - not on enter, not on exit, not on the slide.  None of the slides are particularly complex, most have a single click box and a caption, so it's not particularly likely that I'm failing to diagnose a major design flaw.  For most of those slides, the only

HiI'm at a total loss as to why the 'Navigate Visited Slides Only' option in my Captivate 2019 course is greyed out leaving me unable to interact with it. Basically if I click 'Enable Navigation' (which I want to use), the 'Navigate Visited Slides Only' option ticks and remains grey.I've read online that this may be due to a preferences corruption but the issue has never been resolved and no one has ever offered a work around.Is there anything I can do to resolve this mystery as its creating a massive problem.Thanks in advance for any help or guidance offered.

Using Captivate 5, I have created a number of quizzes that display the "Send E-Mail" button on the reporting slide. If I publish the quiz as an exe file and run it, "Send E-Mail" works correctly. (Outlook opens with an email containing the quiz results ready for dispatch). Likewise if I publish to html and open the html file in Internet Explorer or Firefox, but if I open the html file in Chrome, the "Send E-Mail" does nothing.I have disabled all Chrome extensions, enabled pop-ups, and disabled any Google Labs "About: Flags" I had been using, but "Send E-Mail" still will not work.Given that "Send E-Mail" is functioning correctly in IE and Firefox, this is not a Captivate fault, but I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where else I might look in my Chrome settings to get this working.

Hey there,I'd like to add a quiz slide which asks the user to type in four answers. The question goes like this:Name the four verbs in the following sentence: [sentence]The user then has to type in four correct answers. The only thing I could find out is that the 'short answer' slide allows to add an unlimited amount of correct answers and if the user names on of them, the whole slide is marked as correct. However, in this case, the user will have to type in four individual correct answers.Any ideas how I can do this?Thank you!

Hi there, I am creating a software simulation slide on an existing blank project (not a responsive project), with a video demo setting. In the video editing mode, I can add a zoom with a transition to the zooming in. However, when I try to zoom out again to view the whole screen, the transition does not register -i.e. it is completely abrupt in preview mode. I have tried changing transition time, say from 0.5 sec to 1 sec with no luck. Anyone know how to solve this issue?
