We are using Captivate 2017When we duplicate a slide that was created in simulation mode, the mouse path does not show up. How can we make the mouse path appear?Also, is there a way to change the starting point of the mouse path? We can change the end point but not that starting point.In addition, the text to caption does not complete before the next text to caption starts appearing. How might we correct this?One more thing. Captivate is not previewing in the browser. We are using animations. However, I have selected "show flash" from Google Chrome.Thanks for  your help.

Hi,I've been road testing captivate 9 a lot recently... and I am having a lot of problems when publishing. When I publish a normal, blank project with a background audio file (.mp3 or .wav) it repeats, glitches and sometimes sounds like its overlapping two of the same track on top of each other. Any idea what is causing this? The main slide audio is fine, it is just the background audio!Thank you!

Hi, I'm using Captivate 2017 and creating my own crossword puzzle. I'm using a text entry box with advanced actions, when you submit a answer in the box, it populates on the crossword puzzle. Users get two attempts at each text entry box.  Simple. My issue happens when I try to include a failure message. If a person gets it wrong the first time, the failure message appears. perfect.  I have it setup that when the user gets it wrong the second time the advanced action populates the answer for them, but it seems the failure message makes a second lap through my advanced action.My advanced action on the last attempt is below:Show - Metric AnswerExpression - Puzzle score = Puzzle score - 100  (this is for the scoring)Expression - Answer count = Answer count + 1   (this count goes to 11 to show a next button at the end of the game)Show - next hintDelay Next Actions By - 2 secondsHide - next hintSo when the failure message appears on the second incorrect submitted an

Hello,We are switching from using SCORM 1.2 to SCORM 2004 and are running into an issue with cpQuizInfoStudentName not populating the student's name. Instead it returns "Test Student". I loaded a project in the SCORM Cloud preview and see the line below:In SCORM_CallLMSGetValue strElement=cmi.core.student_nameIt is referencing "cmi.core.student_name" which is correct for SCORM 1.2 but should be "cmi.learner_name" for SCORM 2004. Is it possible to select two drop zones as being correct for a drag and drop interaction?  I know I can have two drag objects go to one drop zone, but I have an object that either could be correct.  Can I do this please?  I am using Captivate 2019.thanks

Hi All -I am trying to publish a Captivate course that was built in Captivate 2017.  We needed to make some updates, and now need to publish it in Captivate 2019 (I just downloaded a free trial). I did not change any publish settings from what was previously used.  The course needs to be published to an LMS, and we typically use SCORM 1.2.  The course does not include a quiz, which if I recall has posed an issue in the past.  It is set to track completion based on slides seen rather than a score.  Any thoughts on what I'm missing?  The courses that we published last year with the same settings in Captivate 2017 worked perfectly.  Now when I publish I get an API error and I'm not sure what else to check. I'm also not having any luck finding tutorials specific to 2019 yet, only 2017.  Any help would be appreciated!

We have uninstalled Captivate Ver. 11 from last WIndows machine and trying to install it on New Windows machine but its not getting activated.Can we have the solution?

HelloI have recently subscribed and have searched the forum and not quite found my issue. I launch C2019 and then click andd create or double click the video demo. The larger window dissappears and then momenmts later the launch screen with the project options dissapears and the program closes. Software sim and the rest work but no the video demo.Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no joy.Hp Spectre x360, i7, 16gb ram

I have noticed that Captivate projects created with 2019, cannot be opened with 2017 (not good). So, I upgraded to the 2019 product. With all of our projects, we use a custom template to control what is recorded and the sizing (1280 x 720). The template created in the older version loads properly. However, some of the features appear to be different and slightly off. Issue 1: The device height says 720px, but the display shows 627?Issue 2: the recording size is empty? Not sure what the issue is here, but it used to be locked at 1280 x 720.What am I missing?

Is there a way to set up a course where there is no timeline? What I mean by this is making a course much like PowerPoint where a slide can stay on the screen indefinitely until the user clicks something to advance the slide versus having the slide advance after a certain amount of time.Is there a way to change this globally per course instead of having to change settings on each slide?

Hi,I have a simple project with five multi-choice questions using Captivate 2017 and I am using the LMS www.learnupon.comAs an administrator I would like to see the results of each question (not just a summary final score) either:1. Inside the LMS - using SCORM 1.2 it seems individual question data is not passed into the LMS and even if so the LMS does not seem to be able to report at a individual question level.2. Captivate - is there an option for captivate to the export the individual question data via "execute advance action" or "execute java script"?or some other solution?Thanks

Hello,I am using Captivate 2017 and want to record a software demo from a SAAS application, which recommends only using the Chrome browser.The entire screen is displayed on the monitor and the red box appears to be capturing the entire screen. However, when the demo is played back, the image is only a portion of the screen and the screen text is extremely large. It makes me feel like the capturing software is zoomed in. Hi I'm hoping someone may be able to help.I have a very simple Captivate project (video and interaction), saved as a SCORM pacakge and uploaded to Moodle cloud.  It works perfectly well on a desktop yet when played on my iPhone 7 through the Moodle app the content cuts off just before the captivate interaction.  This is also happening on another 'module' but I have a third which is fine.  I can't work out what the problem may be?Can anyone help?ThanksKim

When I record a video slide in Captivate 2019 (Slides > Video Demo) and then play it back, the playback does not accurately reflect what was on-screen at time of recording. (One example: In the video playback, a dropdown menu opens before my mouse pointer goes anywhere near it.)If I export the video file and import it into a Captivate 2017 project, the playback is then accurate. No rogue dropdown behavior at all.Has anyone else seen this behavior, and/or found a work-around?

I have a Captivate 9 project that I created by importing PowerPoint slides (a pptx file). I want an MP4 video to play automatically after one of the slides. When the video ends, I want to show the next slide in the sequence.I tried adding the MP4 to one of the PowerPoint slides. With the option to automatically start the video set, the video plays when I run the slideshow in PowerPoint. However, the video doesn't play when I publish the Captivate project and run it.I also tried inserting the MP4 file into a new blank slide in the Captivate project. After publishing, the video plays, but the screen is much larger than the slide dimensions and I don't see the whole screen. If I drag the object handles to resize the video object so that the screen fits within the slide, the text is distorted and unreadable.Any suggestions?

I recently downloaded Captivate 2019 on my PC (running Windows 10).  I am trying create a new project and perform the simplest of functions (e.g., add shape), but the Properties Inspector won't fully load.  Whenever I try to scroll down past what is visible above the fold, a glitch occurs.  I can move the scroll bar, but the content does not appear.  Some of the text fields start duplicating and the lagging effect makes the rest of the options in the panel impossible to access.  How do I fix this so I can use the Properties Inspector?

Hi All. 2019 VR project has a has a function for a target to display text. But where do you change the font? or is it really fixed? I could make pictures I guess, but I just want to add text for simplicity and speed. Any idea?

Has anyone run into this before? I was editing an existing project in Captivate 2017 and suddenly one of the matching slides started doing this in SCORM preview and HTML 5 in browser. I rebuilt the slide from scratch and I'm having the same result. The image below depicts what is happening. I know removing some of the knowledge check slide boxes like "Question title" and "Question" can cause glitches. They had been deleted from the original so I hoped that would solve my problem but I haven't had any luck. Any help you might be able to offer would be much appreciated!! 

Is there a way to click on a step and have text-to-speech audio start? and have my text show at the same time. I can get the text to appear when clicking on step, but audio plays without clicking on step.Thoughts? How to? ideas?Thanks much.

Every time I try to add background audio to a project it imports the audio and then this screen comes up.  You will note the Background Audio pop-up does not have the two buttons on the lower right corner which state "Save" or "Cancel".  It literally sticks on this screen and I cannot exit or get it to save in any way, I always have to reboot the project and it never adds the background audio.  Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
