Hi, Newbie here,I've imported an original puppet into PS and made a slight change with the paintbrush but I am unsure how to export it back into CA .I did export as .png but the character is no longer adjustable.Any help is appreciated please
Hello! Would updating the puppet in Photoshop/Illustrator lose all the settings you made in Character Animator? I tried updating the puppet by adding another layer, and immediately, all my bones, points, behaviors, and other edits in the Rig window, were gone. I had to reapply them all. Is there a way you can simply update a specific part, or import only a few layers into Character Animator? Is there a way to update the existing layers in Photoshop/Illustrator without affecting any of the progress you made so far?
Hello,I've set up a 3 view character who walks both ways and looks pretty good. Is there a way to save all the rigging and just change the hair/clothes/facial features? When I make a copy and edit the puppet in illustrator it loses some or all of the body part rigging. Please help 🙂 I would love to have a set of characters I can easily edit.
Hello, I'm trying to create and animate a very simple 2D character icon puppet scene in the style of the attached mockups. I'd like to animate arms and legs a bit so they can walk into frame, move their eyes, have a few simple cartoon-like mouth expressons (no lip-sync), and wave their hands. If animating walking is too cumbersom, they can just slide in. I'm an advanced Premiere Pro user, and intermediate 2D A/E user so I can use either to keyframe the animated puppets over a 2D Shutterstock background and time to VO. I can color fill each character. Can anyone help with this? Maybe point me to a rigged puppet character like I've described for purchase or creation? Need both generic male and female bodies.Thanks very much for ideas and solutions!
Dears, I have an issue with copying projects. I create an animation project and save it.I then go to create a similar animation while keeping the camera settings and everything else. So I copy the project folder and I rename it. When I open the copied file, I get an empty projects. All the assets are there, but all the settings are gone.I there a correct way to replicate projects while keeping all settings?

I am attempting to use a swap set for differnt arms. I have leader/follower enabled and the handles all labled the same. For some reason the first pose keeps sticking around with the poses happening behind the initial pose. I'm not sure what to do
Hey, any help would be amazing... im very new to this program and learning as I go, watched I think every tutorial and I just must be missing something here. How do I connect the neck to the head? Id like the head to be able to pull the neck slightly as it moves around. the body and neck are static and I cant seem to connect the mesh to the head. Im sure it simple enough, so thank you in advance for any tips.Hope the video is clear... I attached a screen shot of the rigThank you
I feel like what I am trying to do should be relly simple but I am having issues getting it to work the way I want to. I set a fader to my puppet so I can trigger him to dissappear, but I also attached a dissappearing sound effect to the trigger so it all plays simultaneously. The trigger with the sound effect works when my puppet fades in but it doesn't work when I fade out. Is there a way to reverse this action? Also, when I apply the fader to my puppet and I go back to record mode the whole puppet is in a fade out position. So he is not on screen until I trigger the fader. I don't know if this helps but: I set a fader behavior to both the head and body, and then set them both to share the same trigger. I then added the .wav file to that same trigger so it can all play at the same time. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Hi,after hours of research (video, articles, discussions) I don't figure out how to do that, or even it is possible.The most closest reponse I found is there (I think) : https://community.adobe.com/t5/character-animator-discussions/segmented-arms-that-work-like-an-actual-puppet-w-examples/td-p/11251336There is the arm.The idea is to rig the different part : upper arm, lower arm and hand, but no puppt deformation, like that : No bind, no scale.Here in Illustrator :I tryed many options in CA but none worked as expected.Thank you for your help (next step is animating in After Effects after all ^^)
I have spent a lot of time trying to recreate the triggers that are available in Puppet Maker; specificlly the ones that allow your puppet to exit left, exit right, enter left, enter right, etc. I tried to reverse engineer the puppet to try to figure out how it was setup and I recreated everything the same way it was built, but I still can't figure out how to get my puppet to exit/emter screen. It feels so simple but I am out of ideas. If anyone has any clue on how to do it, I would greatly appreciate it!
Works fine lip-syncing without transcript. I added the script to the audio file via copy-and-paste. The icon next to the audio file change from a wave to a wave with a "T", so all is good there.And the audio file and text have been matched.I'm new to Character Animator. This is my first project. Any help would be great.
It seems that I've topped out at 5 minutes for the auto lip sync function in Adobe Character Animator.I've got three puppets setup that goes through different camera views using a cycle layers behavior so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.Is there a time limit in character animator that only allows for it to lip sync 5 minutes of audio. I've got more than 5 but less than 10 minutes but the auto lip sync stops right at 5 minutes.
I know this will be a simple Photoshop, I didn't turn it on problem, but I am not able to get my eyes into the behaviors panel to set as triggers. Also related does anyone know how I can see the full file name in Photoshop and not the ... I am not sure even what those file are? Problem I am doing a horror animation and want the pupils to latch on and off.

How do I move layers from a charator into a new layer in Photoshop. I am working with The Professional and am trying to create a frontal view. I am stuck at 2:03 in the OkaySamurai Head Turns & Parallax video. I have created a new layer called +Frontal and selected the underliying (sp) layer but they will not move into the new layer. ChatGPT dosn't seem to know either. I have been 2 days trying to solve this. Its the weekend so I understand the delay.
Hello every one, i have the same problem with puppet maker. I tried everything; renanming the cache file's name to old, deleting the cache file, deteling the app, trying with all the versions of adobe character animator even the beta mode. i cant even lauch the tutorial in the app ... I called the support they tried everything too but did not resolve the thing, but after our conversation with the support i did a rebboot of pc it did launch the puppet maker only for 1 time and then stopped working ( i did try to reboot and it did not change a thing ) please please please, does anyone have any solution, i am needing this software for work and i don't have much time to complete my work. Thanks in advance for your answers !
I'm totally new to Adobe Ch and I took a puppet from Puppet Maker and Generated it into Character Animator to help teach me the preset behaviors and triggers. I want to change a few things about how my puppet looks like the hairstyle or shirt style using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop (the changes I want are not offered in Puppet Maker). Let's say I do this, and so when I update my puppet and import it back into Adobe Ch, do I have to re-assign everything like rigging, behaviors and triggers? Is there a way to not have to do all this? Will it work if I upload the puppet as the same file name? (Sorry, if this sounds like a dumb question... )
How do I start an animation with the puppet sitting down? I tried everything . I can get the puppet to sit down, but then it goes back to the stading postion if I do ny click on another scene on the timeline.

Hey there..... My name is Devil Dude and im a growing youtuber who wants start streaming with Adobe Character Animator. I made myself a puppet seeingoksamurai's tutorial. Then i saw that Dave had uploaded Tips and Tricks for Character Animator for March 2017, in that video he shows us that red monster had been rebuilt and i saw that he had a new mouth i really liked , so i tried to download that Red Monster but when i downloaded it , i got in a puppet format. i tried to open it in Photoshop so i can drag that mouth and put it on my character but when i opened it in Photoshop it says the same thing .................Plz help me out by telling me how to open the file in Photoshop
How do you resize a puppet in Starter Mode? The puppet is taking up most of the screen.I have seen how to do it in Pro- mode, but Starter mode doesn't have the same accessable menu options.
I'm using the puppet "Ninja", and I applied a "transform behavior" to a layer that is in the shareable head.Now, when I edit a replay, the transform behavior appears duplicated. And every time I save and click "edit replay" again, the layer is copied more times.This doesn't mess up the animation itself, but it makes it very disorganized.Does anyone know why this happens? Is there a way to fix it? Here are some images showing the copied layers.
HelloI'm having problems with using +AltMouth. When I trigger it, my AltMouth does not seem to move at all. I have some pictures to show what I've done:Here I've put them into a swap set like Chloe (My character left, Chloe right) Here are what the cycle layers are for Chloe's altmouth. Here is what behaviors I have for my characters alt mouth cycle layers.If wanted here are my character's behaviors for mouth cycle layers. Here is Chloe's altmouth layer settings Here is my character's altmouth layer settings Here is my character's mouth layer settings. So I really don't know what to do to get my alt mouth to work. I'm all out of ideas and seem to have copied both chloe's and my character's mouth settings (Which seem to be working) fairly well. I would very much appreciate any help on this.
Do I need to make one long audio file for each character so that the audio stays on one layer in the timeline? Or can I add separate audio files for just one character. Is there a link to a video that explain back and forth dialogue between 2 characters in the same CA timeline? thanks
