I've just installed beta 6 and it crashes every time I open it. I have a webcam attached and it creates a new project file each time I try to do anything. PS opens with the puppet but then CH crashes. I have tried to follow this thread but can't find out where appdata is ... it is very frustrating not to be able to use CH now!
I'm running the latest version of the Character Animator Beta and my character (imported from Photoshop) has a drop shadow effect on it that has a size of 42 but when it is in Character Animator there is no fading from drop shadow and it shows up as if the size would look like set at 0. Here's some pictures for reference from the photoshop file and the Character Animator file. Thanks.Photoshop:Character Animator:

Hi, I know someone already brought up this topic before but I just wanna add my 2 cents of how to improve the LipSync feature. Right now, it's really hard to get an accurate lipsync with the current version (Beta 5), so I'm just wondering if maybe you guys can add a little more control to the lipsyc feature. It could be something like allow user to type(copy/paste) their scripts and allow for a more accurate lipsynching. For example, something like Papagayo Lipsync (refer to the picture below)Note: No Affiliation with PapagayoIf you're not familiar with this software, it allow you to type/paste your script and allow you to adjust each phoneme exactly where you want it to be. It's the most accurate phoneme lipsync I know. This is just a suggestion, of course and I mean no disrespect to the current feature, I just thought it could improve and friendlier to use. Thank you.
I can't see to figure out how to make my arm independently move correctly. If you check out my puppet the Left hand and arm are nor independent and I've been getting by using this stretch/distort kind of look. When I try to make the arm/hands independent (like I have with the Right hand here) nothing works. I know I have to use the staple tool which I can never seem to do correctly, I know I must be close. Does anyone know what am I doing wrong? Puppet link below.shooter puppet.puppet - Google Drive
Hi Anyone,Firstly I would like to say I am loving Character Animator so quick to develop and for beta I have had no problems so far.I am however struggling with the particle behavior working with multiple head turns this is no doubt a problem with how I have layers displayed but I can't seem to figure this out or find many tutorials on particles.Ok so the problem is I have a fish, a bit similar to 'Finn' the fish but created in Illustrator. I wan't to be able to trigger a bubble at any point with my mouse. The problem I have found is that because I have multiple heads (Frontal, Right Profile, Right Profile etc...) I have had to add the particle behavior to the bubble layer on all of the heads. This has seemed to work up to a point and I get lots of bubbles (one from each layer I think - not ideal) but one bubble does not die and is always there as the scene begins and ends, without being triggered.I have tried using a key instead but this does not work at all, I have tried
I've created a puppet that imports into Character Animator almost completely correctly, but the "Oh" shape for the mouth comes in as nested objects. Most all of the mouths I've set up using multiple vector objects, but this is the only mouth that doesn't come in as a single object. The image below shows the group structure for the Oh and the R shapes.Yet it comes into Character Animator as shown below where the middle of the shapes . Note that the R shape imported just fine.I'm not seeing that it's causing any problems, but I can't seem to figure out what's different about this mouth than the others.
Hi dave, How do i structure my layers in Adobe Illustrator if my pupils are larger than my eyeball? Any tips or solutions?
Hi, First i'm trully sorry for my english, i'm french and i haven't all the words for explaning correctly my problem.I'm new on Character Animator and i'm stuck for 5 hours with this problem: the arms of my puppet doesn't work well. I'm getting an error when opening a particular puppet - Bad Allocation Error code: (Adobe.RigDynamicsWorld.js:216)Anyone else had this? This is the second time I've re-tagged my puppet. Puppet is created within Illustrator. Any help much appreciated!!
Hi. I have a few "cycle layers" setups with multiple 'sections' implemented with the 'pause layers' function. For example, the character lifts up a drink, pauses, then drinks it, pauses, then lowers it. Each section is triggered by hitting the same key.I'm finding that my rig is really fragile, and if I press the wrong key, or press keys too quickly, it starts to break apart.- If I hit the trigger key repeatedly without waiting for each "section" of the cycle to finish, then the entire cycle restarts from the beginning. Meaning, it is interpreting my trigger to mean"restart the cycle" rather than "continue to the next section". - If i trigger a gesture, starting a cycle, and then hit a DIFFERENT trigger for a different gesture on the same arm (they are attached to the same group, with "Hide Others in Group" checked), then things get really funky. Nothing seems to happen immediately, but once the first cycle is finished, the second cycle is suddenly visible
HelloI would like to know if you can make me an animated presenter, from the waist up, with a variety of gestures and head turning, it is to handle it with adobe character in a program of decoration, thanks
I've created a few scenes from a far out view. For example I have a scene with 2 airplanes & then the background/Sky. Each are individually puppets. Using the transform options, I scaled things & moved them around to position them where I want them. I want to be able to scale them up exactly how they are (then hypothetically move everything 1000 pixels to left to focus on a spot) but if I scale each puppet 2x, everything becomes out of place. How should I be approaching this? I'm guessing the answer involves anchor points but don't really know. All I've been able to do is render the far view & then crop in premiere what I need but obviously the quality is bad. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm certain I must have some combination of sensitivity settings not right, causing my head turns to sort of snap into place as the profile transitions. I've tried a few settings several times, but I seem to be making everything worse (including my puppet suddenly starting responding and moving slowly - as if stoned). Please help me to solve smoothing things out. Thanks in advance for the help!John
and replace it with my own work, but the Illustrator template makes no sense, it looks like someone only knew photoshop. Is there a more Illustrator friendly template out there somewhere? Those layers aren't even named, it's all sublayers, is this how the program works? This is the file I want to animate, this is my current skill level with animating Behance Thank you so much ❤️
I think this may be a bug? I have two walk cycles in my puppet (walk left and walk right). One of them works perfectly with controls functioning etc.... The second one for some reason cannot be tweaked in record mode. I have to go back to rigging mode to access the controls which means I'm setting controls blindly.
Hey, I'm trying to make a cartoon in Ch, but I'm planning to rig the body itself in after effects, so only animating the head and its expressions. So I decided to make the head warp independently, and staple it to the body as hinge, but now the head is scaled weirdly.
…or am I missing out on s.th.? When I tried to record a scene with a puppet with a walk behaviour, I could not record different walk modes. This is what happened: 1.) I recorded a scene and used different walk modes on the recorded puppet. 2.) When I play that recorded scene only the last walk mode I had used would appear on the whole scene. 3.) Then I tried recording only one walk mode at a time. 4.) When I played the recording, though, again only the last walk mode I used would be shown. Is this a bug or do I misunderstand the new behaviour. In either case: Is there a way to record (and FIX or CHANGE) different walk modes (i.e. walk, run, etc.) within a recording/a scene/a puppet's timeline?(I imagine I could use the same puppet again and again for each walk mode but that is obviously not a very good solution…)Thank you!
Hello, I'm having some troubles with my puppet, can anyone help me?1. Something is wrong with the head movement, since my character doesn't have a "body", you can see that the only thing moving is below its "waist" as if the head is pinned on top.2. The right leg is bending in a odd way, it feels like the character doesn't have any knee, the left leg is fine - guess the problem is that the character isn't on a completly side view?-3. I can't make the walk behavior work along the puppet arms, apparently I could fix it if the arms and legs strength were tweakeable independtly of each other.Strength at 100%Strength at 25%My puppet rig:I can upload the puppet file if necessary.PS: Is there a way to upload only the puppet instead of the whole Project file?
Ok so I have a character that essentially has two body groups. First set is multiple groups of cycle sequences. They need to be on top because I have the hands moving in front of the head. The next group is the head- everything is operating as it should. The last group is the neutral body position that is basically an in between state. The head is perfectly attached to the body group with all the cycle sequences but not the neutral body group. If I meddle with independence then the head doesn't work properly.
So I have pretty much tried everything. I tried updating my graphics driver to the latest version (Intel HD Graphics 3000). I made sure my display was set to True Color (32 bit). My remote desktop connection setting is at the highest setting (32 bit). And I've tried launching the app after closing every other application on my computer. I'm assuming that my processor and graphics driver are just too outdated since I purchased my computer in 2012. Any help would be appreciated.
I was recording a multiple take scene, and when trying to adjust something in the timeline, Ch closed and forced my computer to reboot. When it came back, I could not load my previous project, and got the following error message. Is it possible to resurrect the old project? I had several takes already recorded.
My hand has a draggable handle but when i move the arm, the hand is not controllable to the point I need for my animation. If I try to make the hand independent so I can staple a hinge, then it becomes fixed and unattached to the wrist. The hinge will allow it to swivel as i want but I want it to move with the arm/wrist.
hi i have a problem: my head is'nt solid that means when i close my eyes, the head moves strangely (watch screenshot) Or if i just move my head a bit it's starting to look strange too. I followed the instruction from you're tutorial Making Your First Character (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial) - YouTube
