Hello Adobe Team,I’m seeking clarification regarding the release of Substance Painter 2025 on Steam. As of today, January 6th, 2025, the Steam version still shows the 2024 release, with no sign of the 2025 update.I’ve spent hours searching for any official news but have found conflicting information. Some Adobe employees have stated that the 2025 version is coming to Steam, while others have said it is not. Those supporting the release have dismissed the contrary statements as incorrect. However, I haven’t seen any official confirmation from Adobe about whether the 2025 version will be available on Steam, nor any indication of when it might be released. Could you please provide clarity on this matter? If Substance Painter 2025 is planned for Steam, an estimated release date would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for addressing this question. I look forward to any response.
Hi everyone,I’m experiencing an issue in Substance Painter where every time I drag and drop a material from my asset library onto an object, the tiling scale value automatically changes to 128. This happens regardless of the material or object I’m working with.I’ve tried resetting the project settings and even reinstalling Substance Painter, but the problem persists. Has anyone else encountered this issue or found a solution? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I have a Pyside gui that is used across dccs, maya and nuke, I'm looking to bringing it over to substance. Whatever I try, I cannot change the size of widgets. I have tried setFixedHeight(), setGeometry() and setMinimumHeight() I can use the below code to alter them in maya and nuke, but substance seems to override it with its own custom values. Any ideas? class MyWindow(QtWidgets.QMainWindow): def __init__(self, parent=None): super(MyWindow, self).__init__(parent) self.setGeometry(100, 100, 400, 300) # (x, y, width, height) # Create a line edit self.line_edit = QtWidgets.QLineEdit("Yo!", self) # self.line_edit.setGeometry(0, 0, 200, 80) # self.line_edit.setFixedSize(200, 80) self.line_edit.setMinimumHeight(200) Thanks!

hello, i made some folds in substance and reimported them to be used in the baked stylized filter but the folds that are on the side of the cloth that have also an UV seam breaks them, so far i havent found any way to fix this or have a way to not have the break on it
Hello,I'm writing a Python plugin for Substance Painter and I discover a bug that creates crash on startup:I have a virtualenv containing these versions:PySide2==5.12.5Qt.py==1.3.3shiboken2==5.12.5 I add virtualenv's site-packages to my PYTHONPATH and launch Painter with this script inside startup folder : from Qt import QtWidgets import substance_painter PLUGIN_WIDGETS = [] def display_dialog(): main_window = substance_painter.ui.get_main_window() dialog = QtWidgets.QDialog(main_window) dialog.show() def start_plugin(): global PLUGIN_WIDGETS menu = QtWidgets.QMenu("&Test Menu") action = unit_menu.addAction("Test") action.triggered.connect(display_dialog) substance_painter.ui.add_menu(menu) PLUGIN_WIDGETS.append(menu) def close_plugin(): global PLUGIN_WIDGETS for widget in PLUGIN_WIDGETS: substance_painter.ui.delete_ui_element(widget) PLUGIN_WIDGETS = [] I just add a menu "Test" with a "test" action insi
I have recently purchased Substance Painter 2024 perpetual on Steam , i imagined i would be getting a year of updates like any regular software you buy, but now i see Substance Painter 2025 has released on Steam and my version is still 2024.This should not be the way this works , if you get a year of updates , this should include a free upgrade to the newer version. If you purchased 2024 the day before 2025 dropped this would litterally feel like a scam. Is there a way to upgrade SP 2024 to SP 2025 without having to purchase it again after 3 months ?
It is exactly as it says. I am trying to load my material shelf, and it will only load the materials that start with a number to the ones that start with the letter F. Others will not load, and it is extremely frustrating. I do not know what is wrong. The program also will not close properly; I have to go to ask the manager to close the program, which I have never had to do before, but its freezing my PC a lot. Can someone help me figure out why Substance Painter broke and how I can get my library to load? It constantly is saying generating thumbnails, but nothing; I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything. I have my local cache at 3000, and my Specs are a 3900x and an RTX 4090, running substance from an SSD
I was using Substance Painter the other day, everything was working fine. Then I opened a file and it shows a white screen and it doesn't respond. This happens with every file, and I restarted my computer thinking it would help (it didn't). I saw that other people had this problem as well. I don't think I have the most up to date version of substance (6.2.2) but I am afraid to update it when it isn't working. Attached is what I see when opening a substance file, and a pic of my specs. I believe my driver is up to date as well. Thanks.
In the old substance painter at default, there should be a grayscale slider in the grayscale tab when doing the paint mode which is now missing on my painter 3D. Am I missing something here is is this a bug?
Hi all,I have a clean install of the latest version of Painter. All I did was set the color management to OpenColorIO and import a mesh with baked maps.I then applied a fill layer and used a hex code to set a specific color. As you can see in the image, the colors don’t match. The hex code from the website, which should be correct as far as I know, appears significantly different in Painter—both in the Fill Properties and on the mesh itself.Ignore the second fill layer, it has no effect in this example. So, why is this happening? What could be causing this behavior, and how do I fix it?
Hi guys. When I import my 3d model in Substance 3d painter and bake it, Apparently there is a problem with ambient occlusion. How can i Fix that?model in blender and unwrapping in rizomuv, and bake setting was default.
Thanks for clarifying! I would like to know if the steam version of substance painter has any downsides compared to the normal one, and if it is just a 1 time payment of $200? [Message moved and edited by moderator]
As seen on picture, when I use some smart mask or smart materials which contain Mask Editor, they appear as squares. I bake maps in Marmoset and then import in substance painter and texture it. What could be problem?
My Fill Color Picker in Substance Painter starts lagging badly after a few minutes of use. I’ve already tried running the app as Administrator and even reinstalling it, but the issue persists. The lag makes it difficult to change colors smoothly. Any suggestions on how to fix this? My pc: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 48 GB RAMRTX 3090 Video showing the issue:
i baked some details on a flat plane for a trim sheet. and i got this issue a couple times (see Picture) i tried a lot to get rid of it but i cant seem to find the problem, does anyone have an idea how i can go about this? Also its this way in every map not just the normal.
Hello I am new to substance painter and I am trying to figure out how to stop the normals of one material that are bleeding through to the other. I have had added a screenshot that hopefully helps show what I am trying to stop.
I've been using Substance Painter for about three years already using student access provided by Adobe, which is also mentioned clearly here https://substance3d.adobe.com/education/ Recently, my licence ended, so I did request another for third or fourth time like I did before. This time they provided me link to verify my student status, which is not working. (The link https://www.identit-e.com/adobe ). As I need it for my studies, I contacted Adobe through chat, asking to grant me my student access as I am a student of higher institution. In return, I was told that "they don't have student plans for Substance". Which is a lie (?) because the website still mentions that Substance apps are free for students and teachers. For every question I had, I was told to refer to my university. But my univeristy does not provide licenses and it has always been done by students using this link https://substance3d.adobe.com/education/ .At the end, I was told that they d
I'm having a problem with making panel lines in Painter. I can't get the line to go all the way across half the time, even when I go well beyond the edges. Is there a way to prevent this?
I am a freelancer from Russia planning to work for a European company as a short term contractor. In Russian Steam, there's Substance 3D Painter 2025 in two versions: perpetual and subscription. My question is - which version do I need to be able to sell my textures and .spp files to the companies so they can use/modify my files in their commercial projects? They told me they have Adobe subscription for studios, and they are concerned about the "2. Restrictions" of the license agreement. Please clarify which Steam version I can use, if any?
Hi! There is a problem in Substance Painter. I am exporting a model from Blender to Substance Painter, and white lines appear on the borders of the UV islands when sharpen is turned on. The same problem with bevel. I checked the curve map, it baked correctly.I’ve been experimenting with different padding sizes – I was previously using 0.002 (which is what I always used when texturing in Blender), but have also tried going up to 0.01. Unfortunately, none of those changes seemed to make any difference in how these artifacts look.I have a hunch why this might be happening. Typically, sharpness filters in different software look at neighboring pixels to determine the color of a specific pixel. Since there are no pixels outside of the UV islands, the sharpness filter seems to be using a pre-defined color – which is clearly not matching the texture’s actual color. I think expanding the texture beyond the UV islands could help with this, but I’m not sure if Substance Painter has that function
So im currently at my job atm and Im bringing in a model to bake in substance basically to bake the maps from a HP onto a LP, and when it bakes it bakes everything but when you try to use the bit map as a mask it just said fails to decode map. [EngineBitmapLoad] Failed to decode bitmap.resource://project2/Curvature Map from Mesh body?version=a7b603ca8fc7757fb5c46344211c1902f42c323f.image error code Im not bring ANNNYYY textures in this is just what i think you guys have programmed into the actual texturing software and somthing is bugging up the system this WAS not an issue before adobe took over but alas here we are dealing with zero help and no solutions im sorry for
Helllo!I've created a custom material, importing it into painter and using it as a custom brush (a nuts and bolts generator) but I'm getting some major aliasing / bit depth artifacts in Painter where in Designer it looks fine. I've done various testing but cannot get rid of this artifacting at all. Does anyone know the issue here?Thank you,Marcus
hy guys so i'm working on texturing a model of my own but i can't find the solution to this problem :when i bake my model, i obtain this , which is quite cool but when i look at my normals, i get this, which is a big problem i tried a few things, flipped my UVs, but i really am out of options based on my limited knowledge of the soft If a life saver can answer me, he'd have my eternal gratitude thank you
Hello there!I am currently experiencing some trouble while developing a python plugin for the newest Substance Painter version (8.1.2).Lets say I want to save some string data from my plugin to the project file, when the project file is saved. My current approach is to write that into the projects metadata, when the project is about to be saved, using the substance_painter.project and substance_painter.events module.Consider the following pseudocode: import substance_painter.events import susbtance_painter.project class PseudoClass: def __init__(self): ... self.event_dispatcher = substance_painter.events.DISPATCHER self.event_dispatcher.connect(substance_painter.events.ProjectAboutToSave, self.save_settings) ... def save_settings(self, event): metadata = substance_painter.project.Metadata("PluginSaveData") metadata.set("plugin_save_data", "testsavedata") This should work in theory, but sadly raises the following Error instead:[Python]
