Solidworks is an outdated program in my opinion, but I've seen that a few corporate companies in the Aerotautics industry still use it.How much different is Dimension to Solidworks? Can Dimension be used as a standard go to 3D editing software for all industries?Can I use this for virtual photography and if so what is that like? So many questions, but I must know thank you everyone!

Hi. Can anybody advise where I can get a 3D version of a white plastic 5 litre liquid container (see image example) for use as a product mockup. I have tried to do it from 2 D image but with rubbish results. many thanks

I think I've found a bug. I have a complex .obj file that I import, then I save this after applying durfaces etc. the object. Then I save this file as a .dn file. Then I create a new file, import the .dn file I just saved. The reason for doing this is that I have many variations I have to render, using the same object. I only want to add the object surfaces once. Problem is that sometimes I end up importing a previously imported object from a .dn file. This seems to cause the file size to grow! For simple objects, it's only a small amout, but for complex ones, it's significant!

I made a 3D model in photoshop to put into dimensions. When I export the file I export it as a wavefront|obj file (obj.). When I import the obj. file into dimensions, for some reason the material on the object turns striped. If I add a material on top of the objects the stripes show underneath. I have no idea what's going on and I can't find anyone with the same problem. I feel like i'm making an easy mistake.

I just installed a NVIDIA Quadro P2200 (most current driver 461.40) on a Windows 10 64 bit computer. Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere etc. work fine but Dimension has a massive issue: the working area is just black after I start the software. I could even start the tutorials, unfortunately, I couldn't see anything. You can see the object data on the right when you place a new object on the working area but you don't see the object itself. The only tip I found on the Internet was updating the graphic driver. But since I already have the newest drive there is not much I could do.Has anybody an idea how to fix this? Thanks for any helpMichael

I am working on a packaging project and I want to have this embossed flower on the front side of my bottles. I am trying to do this with a normal map in Dimension, instead of adding it in Photoshop after rendering. This worked fine on one object, but with the rest of them it only wants to apply it on the corners for some reason. When I adjust X offset it just dissapears under the front side. I tried removing my graphic and generating UVs again, and it's still doing it. Also tried detaching material styles on that segment of the object.

Based on the Subject line Dimension when opened, I import the FBX model from 3ds Max then once I do the model won't show, whether the drop down list on the right "eye" is on or off. It's the same with the default models in the software.

Help, please! Adobe Dimension 3.4.1, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2.1, no version open,  will not start on my Mac. I get as far as the Welcome to Dimension screen and then I can't do anything. How do I create a concave background in Dimension? Like a 90° round transaction from flat to vert? Like a quaterpipe? Like a regular photographer backdrop? How is that done? I searched high and low, no clue so far. Send help! PLZ

Very simple question I hope. See the two attached images. One is preview and the other is the rendered image. Notice how the metallic quality of the can bottoms is completely gone?  I am rendering at full quality to a 16 bit PSD file. Any idea what is happening here or what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

I wanted to share my latest render in Adobe Dimension. Most of the work I've seen done in Adobe Dimension CC usually depicts a small-scale scene with one main subject and a simple surface, such as a cup on a table. My goal for this project was to push Dimension CC to render a full environment with a lot of detail.This scene was created using only Adobe Dimension CC and Adobe Stock 3D assets. It says Dimension works on my computer. No matter what version I use it freezes at startup (attached screen grab). Is it my system? Granted I don't have the recommended graphics card, but why would Adobe say my computer is compatable?

I cannot get labels to display properly on a custom OBJ that I made in photoshop. These fractured wedge shapes keep appearing no matter what I do. I did the "Generate UVs" command in Dn, and that cleaned some things up, but still having this issue. The OBJ was created from an extruded PSD Work Path (screenshot attached). When I play with "Extrusion Depth" in photoshop, that seems to alter the label distortion in Dn, but all setting adjustments still causing issues like this.

I'm having trouble matching the camera perspective. I noticed the automated match image was matching to the perspective of the sunlight hitting the floorSo I removed the sunlight but that didn't help, it was still off. I tried drawing perspective lines on the image to help but that didn't work either.I wish there was a easier way to line up perspective. I've seen other programs use guide lines, where you can line them up with the lines where the floor and wall meet and where the ceiling and wall meet. And as you move the guidelines the perspective will change to match. Any tips on this would be appreciated thanks

Hi, has anyone encountered such a problem (pic. attached) ? I have been using Dn for over a year, so far the renders have come out without problems. I use several 3D models for comparison. On each of them, the edges and shadows break at a sharp angle. Thanks for any tip or help.

Hi, I would like to create a bottle in 3D through Illustrator, Photoshop to finish with Dimension. But I can not achieve it without the edge being visible. How can I remove it? Thank you for your help

Hello all,my problem is the following:The application opens and the start window appears with the suggested tutorials and the buttons "Open" and "Create new". However, I cannot click on anything nor can I scroll in the window,  or even close the window.I have already uninstalled and reinstalled everything with the Cleaner and increased my RAM to 48 GB. The application does not work in safe mode on the Mac either. 

As the title said.. Got the LOG if it's useful in anyway. Keep getting errors while rendering. Don't know if it's something in my project or AD itself. Any help?

I can't find the info on the 3.4.1 update to Dimension anywhere. The CC app keeps freezing up, now it's running, but it is trying to update almost all the Adobe apps. So I googled and came here, looked at the post pinned to the top, and the links in there just point to articles about the september 3.4.0 release, and the previous april release. 

For some reason, Adobe Dimensions keeps forgetting my focus settings. I enable it, render then it becomes disabled again. v3.4.1 mac

I've got a model of box that has a laser cut window on top of the box. I want to overlay a graphic on top of the box, but I'm not able to make it work. The graphic is just being applied to the inside bottom of the model since there's a big hole in the top of the box.  Does that make sense and is there any way to make this work? 

I'm new to Dimension and have completed a fairly involved table-top game mock up with a lot of components.  Towards the end, Dimension began running so slowly that it is unusable.  I'm running it on an iMac 3 Ghz 6-Core i5 with 16 Gb of ram.  The image I've created is below.  What are some things to check?  Have I simply created too many objects?
