The Text to Vector fuction is completely missing from my ai. I am taking a course where using this tool is necessary to complete a project and I am unable to complete this task due to this issue. How do I gain access to the AI tools in Illustrator?  For reference, there is no sign of this feature in my properties panel or in the window drop down. I have the most up to date version and the full creative cloud plan subscription..

item.rotate(); rotates item but not its opacity mask. There's nothing about this in the reference afaik. Any ideas/workarounds?-See attached video & file-I found two similar threads but none of them really touched upon how to do this in scripting.

I'm having an issue with my adobe illustrator Library window. None of the buttons are able to click, and when I try to extend the window. Everything seems to stretch. It's been like this for about a week.

The Pen tool has always had negative connotations associated with it. Requires a lot of practice to become proficient using the tool. What would the level of effort be to use AI to help guide the user. Imagine trying to outline an object and AI can sense the task. Then guide the user to making the path with as few anchor points as possible. This would be evolutionary. 

The previous answer to the same question in Nov 2009 does not work for me. That was to copy and paste in front. I've tried every permutation of copy and paste; I renamed the path to path. It looks like a path when I add stroke, but it does not behave like one.  I can't cut it or join it to any other path. It remembers it's text path status.I'm running OS X 10.7.5.Thank you.

Since the latest Illustrator update, I have been unable to copy an object from one layer and paste it into another layer.

Hi all, This morning I was trying to add a colorgroup to Library in Illustrator but I found outI can't do this in illustator. I tried to add my ASE. colorgroup with a script in ChatGPT but this also doesn't work. Does anyone know how i can add a full colorgroup (more than 5 swatches) into Libraries so I can use this for various projects?

Hello,I'm writing because I updated Illustrator today, 8/4/25, and now Illustrator will not export my files as PNG's.  It was working just fine in that area before this update, and now it will not export any file as a PNG.  I've reset my laptop at least 3 times, and re-started the program multiple times, and the error still occurs. Attached is a screenshot of what I see when I try to export the files. Has anyone else run into this issue?  

I have the following issue: an svg file looks as I'd like it to look when opening it in the browser or in inkscape, but looks differently in Illustrator. I have made a reduced version of the file that still has the same issue. Can anyone tell me what is causing it and how to fix it? And maybe guidelines of what approaches to use and avoid so that the file would look the same when importing in Illustrator? Hi, I'm facing a problem. The problem is when I opened my recent document at Adobe Illustrator it showed "Text Import" option bar. When I clicked "ok" then a blank document has opened. I want my document back so please help me.

Hello Adobe Support Team,After updating to Illustrator v29.7.1, I noticed that the Properties panel content is missing. The panel appears, but it’s empty — no options or controls are displayed. I am using Illustrator CC 2017. My ellipse tool has always allowed me to create a perfect circle by holding shift, clicking and pulling from the upper left and releasing in the lower right hand corner. Now, for some reason, my ellipse tool has an extra little icon next to it with a left arrow (see attachment) I am only able to pull shapes at an angle and the only way I can create a perfect circle is by reversing from upper right to lower left. I checked under preferences and the 'constrain to angle' option is set at zero, and I can't find any other way to find presets for the shape tool. I can not pull a 90 degree angle on a rectangle or square, everything is automatically sheared. help 😞 ?????

I am trying to flatten this image (or any other 1clr image or 1clr imported pdf) and I keep getting the 27 spot colors error.  The image is only 1 color and is the only thing in the file.  Is there something I am missing?  It used to work, but now it doesn't.  

I work a lot with lines in Illustrator and I'd like to know: when I have several lines rotated at different angles, how can I make all the lines horizontal or vertical at once?

I cleared my cache for After Effects as it was using ~100GB of disk space, and after I did this, most of my fonts are "missing" in Illustrator, but are available to use in Photoshop, InDesing, After Effects and Premiere Pro without any issues. I have had a long chat with ChatGPT and it guided me to many steps, and still nothing worked! Uninstalling and installing the fonts didn't work.Deleting font folders in Mac Library didn't work.Reinstalling the app and restarting the computer didn't work.Deleting caches didn't work.Manually resetting Illustrator app and preferences didn't work. These fonts aren't Adobe fonts, but downloaded from stock sites like Envato which I paid for. Does ayone know how to fix this and get Illustrator to show these fonts? 😞

Hola, estoy tratando de colocar imágenes png en el ilustrador, el tamaño original de estas es de 1080x1920px, pero, al pasarlas o colocarlas el programa me cambia las dimensiones. La persona que envía las imágenes hizo la prueba de abrirlas en otro ilustrador y todo bien, en ese caso sí respetó el tamaño de las mismas. Ayudaaaaaaa!

HiThe discretionary hyphen in illustrator v29.2.1 doesn't seem to work.It works fine in InDesign v20.0.1I'm writing in Icelandic and there's not a hyphenation system in place for that language, so I toggled the automatic hyphenation off.Is this a bug for Adobe to fix or am I doing something wrong?

Every now and then Illustrator will freeze and crash whenever I use the Object drop down menu up top. Does anyone else have this problem? It is extremely frustrating to lose progress like this.

 I have uninstalled the app and the same keeps happening, I can't start in safe mode,

*Repost because my pictures didn't upload correctly* I have tried for weeks now to find a solution to this and so far I've got nothing. I am exporting models out of Solidworks Composer as svg files but when I open them in Illustrator, there are no consistent lines or objects. All of the paths and curves are made up of tiny little lines or lines that have been broken up and segmented in weird spots. I then have to spend a painstaking amount of time essentially rebuilding the model in Illustrator by going along and joining all these paths together and closing that many gaps that are present. I have tried so many different settings from the Composer side to Illustrator side and have gotten nowhere. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious or there's a setting that I'm overlooking, but I would love some help understanding what I need to do differently to save a lot of time and headache.  I have attached a screenshot of my Solidworks Composer file and the export settings, as

Hi Recently when I am editing a vector smart from Photoshop, it opens in Illustrator. When i update the object it is applying registration/crop marks. Why is this happening all of a sudden and how can I change this? As it is also moving the placement of the artwork and not updating it true to size. It is posing a continual problem for me. Also it never used to happen so not sure if its an update or if i have a setting on somewhere that os incorrect?Thanks
