Hey guys,Since Adobe updated Illustrator to version 29.4, Smart Guides no longer work properly. I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem. My computer isn't the problem because it's new and works fine. I need help to fix this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm trying to rotate a group of objects 180 degrees. I noticed that when I hold the shift key and go to click down to rotate, it'll turn just a hair before I actually rotate. I'm attaching a video of me holding shift, and then going to click... and then I undo and recreate the issue a few more times. Not sure what is causing this. For simpler shapes, I can't seem to recreate this, but with these more complex group of objects, it's everytime.  I've noticed this issue a few times when I run through my normal checklist of preparing files, where a vertical or horizontal line is off just a hair. Thought I was going crazy, but now seeing when this is occuring. Frustrating for sure. Hi, Im new to adobe illustrator and got stuck. Spent an hour now trying to understand how to get support from Adobe! Isn't there any live chat for users? Ive tried too search in the community for any topic relatade to my issue but couldn't find anything. So, how do I find help when needed and not interested of scrolling in the community?

I've read a couple similar posts on this subject, but I havn't seen any that specifically requests for a feature to be added. The base questions: Why can't you set up custom constraint angles like you can custom construction angles? Why do the line segment tool and pen tool behave differently when I change my constraint angle? When I set my constrain angle to 30 deg. holding down shift, the line segment tool snaps to 0, 30, 60 ,90, etc. but when using the pen tool snaps to 30, 75, 120. Reading online, people want them to behave the same but some want 30, 75, 120 and some want 0, 30, 60, 90. I do technical drawings for work and I draw in isometric 100% of the time. I make dashed lines to indicate how one part goes into another part. I use the pen tool to generate those lines. It would be awesome if I could hold down shift and have it constrain to 0, 30, 90, 150 (straight up, straight across, or on the iso plane). None of the plug-ins seem to do this anywhere near as effic

So, I'm trying to make a gradient follow a path and then fill up a shape I've drawn with the pen tool that is curved like a crescent moon, changing color from one end to the other. Is there any way to easily achieve this with Illustrator?

I find it very difficult to know which direction I'm aligning things. If they rotated with your page it would may life easier?

Hi, I've been searching for the object on path tool on my tool set, but it is just not there. I use Illustrator in French, as it is my native language. Is it just me or something is wrong with the French version?Thanks for your help !Best regards, Angie

Hey everyone! I have run into this issue many times over the years and figured I'd post about it. I'm currently working in Illustrator 2020. When using either the Rotate or Reflect tool, Illustrator often gets stuck. What I mean by stuck is that after trying to rotate or reflect some artwork the tool remains active as if you never released right click. This makes it so that every subsequent movement just rotates around the artwork you were orginally trying to transform. If you try to click elsewhere in the program, nothing happens. This locks the software up for a few minutes until eventually illustrator releases from the rotate tool and only then can you continue to work. There is also the issue where, if you try to change the rotational axis, the center point gets stuck to the cursor and the program is stuck in a similar fashion. I've stopped trying to move the rotational axis since it now seems to happen almost every time do that with GPU preview turned on. I kno

Hi,I have an object with items in multiple layers. For the sake of aligning it with other objects, I would need to group it or turn it into a symbol. However, both of these options move all items in the object into a single layer. Is there a simple way of having the object behave as a group (for the sake of aligning it) without grouping it? In other words, I would like to keep all the items in the layers where they are, but be able to align the object as a whole.This is for CS4.Thanks.

I have created a Data Set and when batch saving I can only make the files overwrite themselves and end up with only 1 PDF when I should have 19.  I set up a Action to Save and then choose Batch with Source Data Sets, Destination NONE and File Name: Data Set Name.  I am able to togle through each of the 19 items but I am confused as to what I could be doing wrong that the file overrides itself when saving??? 

Hi, I'm new to the Adobe community, and I'm currently using the free 7-day trial to try out some of the programs. However, I've noticed that Illustrator is not supported on my device. I'm reviewing the Illustrator system requirements, but I'm still a little unclear on why not. My processor is Snapdragon(R) X 10-core x1p64100 @ 3.40 GHz, 3417 mhz and I run an ARM-64 based PC on Windows 11. I would appreciate the help. I've heard so many good things about Adobe. 

Can I uninstall, disable, and/or delete all of the Creative Cloud stuff, keeping Illustrator only? All I use is Illustrator - and not much of that. The Creative Cloud stuff seems to only choke of my computer resources and drastically slow my start up every morning. 

Black color outline is a shpe. Is there any tool to convert it into stroke which can run through the middle [red line indicates]? I can try it in a usual way but it is a long way.

Hi, when I apply a drop shadow to an object in Adobe Illustrator, the object's frame reshapes according to the drop shadow. The object's dimensions are distorted. It looks like the object is expanded along with the shadow. But I don't do anything like that. The object's borders don't change when I preview. This happens when I apply the drop shadow. How can I fix this?I used translation. I hope it's understood. Thanks.

I use illustrator for very complicated gis generated maps with huge numbers of vertices and I am looking for the best processor to use with adobe illustrator.  I understand that performance with vector graphics is achieved with a very fast single threaded cpu.  I currently have a i9-10940 but it's not fast enough. I've been onto intel to ask them but they are no use, they have suggested an i9-10900 which does appear a little quicker on the popular benchmarking sites but I want the very fastest processor possible to work with adobe illustrator and complicated 2d documents. Please can anyone suggest something? For instance what do Adobe use on their test machines or development machines, they probably don't hang around? Thanks.p.s. I have M.2's, SSD's, Liquid Cooling, 64gb fast ram, lots of power and all the rest, I just need to know what processor to get.

Hey everyone, I’m completely new to Illustrator and just starting to learn how to use it. I have no design experience and don’t really know what the tools do yet, but I’m trying to recreate this graphic that AI made for me (attached below). It’s a tree with colorful leaves, and instead of regular roots, it has these circuit-looking lines branching downward. I love the concept and thought it’d be a great way to start learning.I have both a MacBook and an iPad with an Apple Pencil. I wasn’t sure if I should try drawing the tree on the iPad or build it from scratch on the Mac. Either way, I want to learn how to do this properly and understand how Illustrator works along the way. I’ve opened Illustrator a few times and tried messing around, but it’s still really overwhelming. If anyone has advice, tutorials, or step-by-step guidance that’s beginner-friendly, I’d really appreciate it. Super excited to learn!Thanks in advance 🙂
