I design a map and I need to keep each element on different layers (for example a layer for roads, a layer for buildings and parks, a layer for legends, etc). Thanks for your help

Hi, I’m trying to soften the edges of the shading on a tree (pictures attached.)  As a possible workaround, I added a gaussian blur to the shading as my expectation, but I can’t get a similar look if I were to choose Object<Blend<Make.  Instead, it gives me some wonky results.  What can I do differently?

I am trying to cut this image with the grid tool and divide it evenly. It is a png but I do not know how to vectorize something like this. Is there a tool in Ai or the suite that can cut this up? Thank you. 

Hi all I am sure this has been asked a million times but i cant find the answer. When i drag my guides across from the ruler in AI, they dont show until i click on something in the document - very hard to place accurately when using. Also the direction selection tool also doesnt show when i have dragged it to select something - please help i am going crazy!

When editing a placed ai file and re saving, the typeface and type size are being reset to default after saving and indesign updating the preview. When re opening the ai file again it is also now showing the default view. Process.alt + click the file i want to edit from indesign, Made the changes to the artwork Resaved and closed the ai file Indesign updates the preview but changes a random piece of type to default (myriad 12pt) other areas of the artwork that have the same live font do not get effected. re open the artwork and change it back to what it should be and then it updates properly.  Randomly happening, other files placed in the indesign document using the same typeface can be edited and display fine.Seriously annoying. I’ve used this typeface for years and had no issues. Placing a PDF works fine but I shouldn’t need to be doing this.

I don't actually know for sure if these are smart guides or some other type of guide, but after the most recent update, this cross-hair started showing up over my cursor when the rectangle tool is selected:I always use only grid for snapping and have toggled Smart Guides on/off, restarted the program, looking around in preferences, etc. But I can't figure out what setting this cross-hair actually is, if it isn't a Smart Guide. I've never seen it before and it's extremely distracting. It shows up in every workspace and every document now.

My MacOs is running Monterey 12.7.6. Adobe illustrator 2024 is compatible with my system. How can I get this download?

I’m currently designing a logo for a website in Adobe Illustrator. The logo is made from several simple vector shapes, and I’m trying to keep everything perfectly centered and aligned.The problem is that when I select the logo elements and use the Align options, some objects don’t appear to align to the visible artwork correctly. The spacing looks slightly different even though the objects are selected together.I also noticed that the issue becomes more noticeable after grouping some of the shapes and using a clipping mask.i am working on this website logo : (website link removed by moderator).I’ve checked the alignment options and tried aligning the artwork to the artboard, but I’m still getting inconsistent results.Is there a recommended workflow in Illustrator for keeping multiple vector shapes in a website logo perfectly aligned, especially when some of the artwork is grouped or inside a clipping mask?I want the final logo to remain fully editable as vector artwork.Any advice on wh

HI, I own Adobe Premium suite 5( I know, do't laugh, can't afford anything else.) It was activated on 2 compiuters. One of the computers died. My new computer I tried to intsall the suite however it keeps saying already reached activation limit. How can I get that activation whihc is on the dead computer to release so I can put it on my new computer? Thanks

I am using illustrator to make figures, which involves adding in several rectangular images of my results and aligning them. I have tried both copy and pasting these in, as well as directly importing them individually. They look fine in illustrator, but when I go to export to PDF, the resulting PDF has several of the rectangles shrunk down. It is not all of them but several for each figure is distorted. Any help is appreciated.

Estou com um problema de espaçamento entre palavras: toda vez que digito uma frase, ao dar espaço para uma nova palavra, o Illustrator junta essas palavras, deixando tudo como um único bloco. Assim, por exemplo, se eu escrevo "design gráfico", ele automaticamente corrige para "designgráfico". Alguém sabe me dizer se é um problema (bug) ou se tem alguma configuração de correção?Obrigada. 

This happens usually when my laptop gets any windows 11 updates or any firmware updates. I am not sure how both are connected but whenever such thing happens, post updates Illustrator starts working very slow. It lags tremendously.I tried almost all the solution available, like resetting preferences, turning on/off GPU etc.The only solution which works for me is to completely uninstall the entire creative suit through Adobe Cleaner and re-install everything as fresh.After this, illustrator again works fine. But this event causes a lot of time loss and I have readjust my workspace again and again.I have a high end laptop, with 32gb ram, core ultra 9 processor, 5070 Ti GPU.Help needed to fix it!

When using the Illustrator "Share for Review" link, I preview it in Chrome but the artwork is all blurry and it doesn't show the artwork on the other art boards. I've tried restarting everything, creating new links, uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome, clearing cache, googling.. nothing works. But when I preview the link in Safari, everything is fine. Has anyone else had this issue. if so can someone help me solve this please?

I have seen videos of Adobe Illustrator Turntable on YouTube and I want to try if Turntable can create a 3D look of my 2D characters and animals that I created in Moho Studio. In addition, can I create keyframe animations with Turntable? I already use bone rigging and animations in my Moho files. Can I import the bones(from my Moho files) in Illustrator and use them with Turntable or is it necessary to use another software when I want to create animations?I want to create 3D models(with ai if possible) from my 2D characters(all Moho Studio and Inkscape files) and then animate the 3D models in Adobe software. Maybe Mixamo?Which Adobe software can I use for my purposes?

Hello, I am image tracing a 1200 dpi image that has already had threshold allied in photoshop.  It is just black on white any in my opinion it has defined edges.  No matter how much I play with all the settings including advanced settings, image trace does not really follow the contours of what I’m tracing… (please see attached image). I would think something black on white with crisp edges, image trac would do a better job.  Am I missing something?  Is there a better way to get a result that hugs the contours better? 

So quite simply I created a path and now I want to fuse the two anchor points at the end into one so that their handles will still be intact and the overall form of the shape doesn’t gets changed.Like it can be seen on the upper end of the form, I want to use Illustrator’s function to create a specifically sized radius on the closed corner of a path, which so far doesn’t seems to work with two sepaerate anchor points.Originally I used a “Merge Overlapped Anchors” script but it stopped working this morning.All options inside Illustrator that I tried so far had no effect whatsoever, including the object>path stuff, Ctrl + J on top of tools for merging stuff and other commands. Also for some reason the unselected paths appear purple, even though they only have a black outline and their layer is red.

Hi everyone,I'm experiencing an issue with character rendering in Adobe Illustrator (latest version on Windows 11).When copying stylized Unicode text generated from web platforms like <irrelevant link removed-kglad> and pasting it directly into a standard text box, some characters display as empty boxes (tofu glyphs) or drop entirely, even when using common OpenType fonts like Montserrat or Arial.Here is what I've tried so far:- Resetting the Type tool preferences.- Checking 'Enable Missing Glyph Protection' in Preferences > Type.- Changing font fallback settings.Is there a specific setting in Illustrator or Typekit to force proper UTF-8 character encoding for custom glyphs pasted from external web sources? Any insights or recommended workflows would be greatly appreciated!

I am wanting to make name place cards for a wedding and have two copies of the place card on a single art board so these will print efficiently.I have done a data merge in word before but as my text is curved, I was hoping to do it in illustrator. Is is possible to use the one list multiple times on the same artboard but get the second place card to have the next name? In word you just add the phrase 'next record' at the beginning of your placeholder. Is there an equivalent option in illustrator?  Worst case my work around will be to split the first names into two columns but I'd rather see if this was an option first. 

If you import a vector file and you opt to have Illustrator scale it, the “scale lineweights” option does the opposite of what it’s supposed to.In this example, the drawing is being scaled down, but the line weights are unusably huge. But if you turn lineweight-scaling off, they are correctly scaled down with the drawing.
