Sorry, this must be very basic, but I'm in Illustrator CC2018 and I can't figure out how to hide the selection highlight.Where'd they put it?thankskurt

I just installed the latest version of Adobe Illustrator.  However, when I save the file, the [Save, Save as] dialogue box is blank.  How do I fix it?  Thanks!David L

The pink box on the lower right part of the image, it's part of some frame but it's still there even if the frame is not shown.

Hi,I have a function for grouping and scaling up visible objects, for exporting in higher resolution then I work on. It works fine with everything except live paint objects which I have to rely on. The object is scaled but the stroke width remains the same. Here is the part of the function:var factor = 600; selected.resize(factor, factor, true, true, true, true, factor); Any one has an idea of how I can solve this? Maybe find the live paint object within the group and adjust the stroke? The probelm is that there is nothing in the api about the live paint...

Ever since the latest update (I think was last week) whenever I open a file from my folders tab or Bridge, Illustrator opens a new instance. I wasn't used to do this. I run it on an updated Windows 11. 

My variable width profile is not working. While using the brush tool in Illustrator, the width line won't vary. It always appears uniform. Issue Description:I've imported a PSD file with multiple image layers into Adobe Illustrator. In Illustrator, everything looks perfect, and none of the images or layers are cut or broken. However, after exporting the file as an SVG, when I open the SVG in Chrome or Edge, the images appear chipped or broken at the edges.Steps to Reproduce:Imported a multi-layer PSD file into Adobe Illustrator (version [include version here, if known]).Adjusted the layers as needed (everything displays perfectly in Illustrator).Exported the file as an SVG.Opened the SVG in Chrome and Edge, where the images are chipped or breaking.Has anyone encountered this issue or have any tips to prevent the chipping or breaking after SVG export?

I have a designed a site AvatarWorldMod in wordpress. That have a figma file too.During the figma design. When I copy any asset from illustrator to figma I was drop the image and paster other content. What's the issue behind? 

I have a 2020 MAc book Pro and a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet. I´m working with Illustrator 2020. A few days ago I started experiencing a very annoying problem while working on AI, the artboard suddenly moves (as if I were using the panning tool) to one of the sides or across, it moves slowly and I can´t do anything until it stops moving by itself, it is now happening very often which makes me lose a lot of work time. I thought it may be something with the Tablet so I uninstalled averything and re installed, but it keeps happening. I just upgraded my OS to Big Sur and it didnt fix anything. Driving me crazy! It happens with any sized files, even whith very simple small ones.

I have an image that I'm wanting to make a traceable pattern.  So I'm hoping to convert it to some black outlines.  Can someone walk me through how to do that?I've attached the image for reference

When using the shape tool I keep getting what looks like the Direct Selection tool instead of the cross that I used to get. Need to know how to switch it back if possible. Thanks

It has only been more that 3 DECADES for this error. If the bits in question are vanishly small, who cares, just delete them! This error comes up here frequently when we are scaling art to send to the proofer. There is no weay around it other that rasterizing the file which is not really an option either. We recieve lots of art that has been vectorized, & virtually every one has something vanishingly small.

I am a new user to pattern brushes.  I have used a pre-loaded brush that uses a colored circle for the pattern.  I'd like to change the color of the circle, so I double click the brush pattern in the Brushes window to get the "Pattern Brush Options".  There is the colorization area, but I cannot figure out how to change the key color.  Help tells me to select the eyedropper and change the color, but I can't get it to do ANYTHING.  What am I missing here?

I just updated to Illustrator 27.5 and it won't open at all. I get a dialog box that says Illustrator only has "read" permission and needs "read/write" I click ok, then nothing happens and I have to force quit. I'm on a new Macbook Air running Ventura. Anyone have same issue/a solution? Thanks

Hi,I'm sorry if my question might sound a little stupid but I just begin on Illustrator..I've download a vector image of sparkles and I'm trying to delete all the black background and edges to keep only the yellow sparkles.Here is the image :I've delete the main background but now some there are some edges that I can't delete all in one time.Is there a way to delete the remaining black easily ?Thank you so much for your help

I have a user who is not able to open any version of Adobe Illustrator on their mac that is running sequoia 15.0.1. It just says not responding. I tried: rolling back versions, uninstall and reinstalling the apps, uninstalling and reinstalling Creative Cloud, and Creative Cloud cleaner. None of that worked. Adobe MAX 2024 just finished and to no-one surprise; once again no announcement for Illustrator for Android. It's almost 2024. Come one guys. Get a move on. Not everybody in the Adobe ecosystem is an Apple fanboi.

Is it possible to set a custom stroke weight value so that it is there every time you open the program?p.s. well, at least it's there among the list of other values, but it's better if it's the default value 

Hello fellow Adobe community, I don't normally post, but I do search regularly on these forums for help finding answers/solutions. Since I had a hard time finding the answer to this, and took me awhile to figure out, as I struggle with the math side of my brain. Time for me to give back & share my findings & hope this helps others. When given a vehicle template or architecture plans that have a scale ratio, and you need to scale it back up to size with illustrators scale tool & have to figure out what percent to scale it up. Or you are scaling something down with illustrator & need to note it in your plans but unsure of the proper ratio term for the percentage you used to scale it down. Here is the answer. 1:10 - 10% scale down - 1000% scale up1:2 - 50% scale down - 200% scale up3:20 - 15% scale down - 666.67% scale up1:5 - 20% scale down - 500%scale up1:4- - 25% scale down - 400% scale up3:10 - 30% scale down - 333.33% scale up2:5 - 40% scale down - 250%

Hello, 1. Can someone enlighten me about the TIFF file? Can I use these kind of file for phone wallpapers? Is this an image or storage type only?  2. Is it really different to have 72ppi image and 300ppi image? If the images would be used as phone wallpapers?  Thanks, Angelica
