Hi I've been working on making fliers in Adobe Illustrator, but the last time I was working it I accidentally reset my computer before or while saving. Since then I can't open it again. I get two errors:1) Illustrator could partially read the file. We recovered as much as possible....(etc)2) Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. Expected a dict object.I'm confused by this since I didn't do anything regarding making or importing a pdf..... is there any way to rescue my art and text for this corrupted file??

My workspace preferences are all grayed out, including the defaults. I’d prefer to not reset all prefs. Can I just delete the workspace prefs? Where do I find them? 

I would like to increase the thickness of the logo (image 1) like in the second image which I got chat GPT to render, although maybe not quite as thick - what is the easiest way to achieve this?I created the attached shape (image 1) using a grid split into triangles, The logo is made up of multiple different shapes - red section, green section, yellow section, red-yellow gradient section, yellow-green gradient section, I also had to add gradient rectangles in the negative space within the logo after making the corners curved so that they inner curves would capture the gradient in a clipping mask.Any help would be much appreciated! 

I've used the "Make Pattern" hundreds of time before, but now when I select an object and click "Make Pattern" I only get an error message that says "Can't define a new pattern from the current art." The current art is litterally just an ellipse, nothing complicated. What am I missing here?

I have seen similar post involving “Raster Link” (whatever that is), but it was for a laptop and the solutions did not apply to a desktop. This problem is for a desktop and I have used this illustrator worksheet to print business cards for at least a year with no issues.  Now suddenly black prints out as green!  I have tried a few things with the settings to no avail. I have updated drivers, etc. Why would things be going along nicely then boom, black becomes green? I should mention this issue is only with Illustrator.  Photoshop is not affected nor any other program that prints.  All else comes out in black.

Why are the AI filters Adobe is releasing now getting more expensive? Ya, I get the server charges, but is every filter from here on out going to cost a subscription plus a ton of credits?Is it just me or do others sense that Adobe is getting close to charging by the minute to use their IP?So I guess my question is, what are others thinking about this and what is your threshold before jumping  ship?

Since the last update, Illustrator is unusable. It lags and freezes when draging objects, zooming in and out, scroll through the work. It's not a hardware issue, or driver issue and everything else (Photoshop. Lightroom, Premiere, After effects, Indesign) work fine. It's just illustrator. So it doesn't respond to the mouse and it acts broken. I don't know what else to say, but it's unusable. Had anyone experienced this? I have unistalled it and installed it again... Even before last update it was super buggy making the "bell" noise when selecting object with the mouse like there was a text box open (even if it was not) and I looked in task manager and there was nothing there that could have not allow me to move objects with the mouse. What's up with illustrator and can I have a work with anyone about this?

I want to translate the old text into English, but the original text may have been converted to curves. I need to create a text frame of the same size (the exact height might be difficult to achieve, so the same width would work as well).I’d like the script to move the selected objects to the “old layer,” hide that layer, create a “area text box” of the same size in the original position, and move that text box to the “Text layer.”If possible, please pre-fill it with the letter “O” 

M3 Max, 36GB RAM. Illustrator uses 18–20GB while AIRobin uses another 16–20GB. Memory pressure turns yellow and swap climbs on simple files. Reinstalled Illustrator and reset prefs. Anyone else seeing this or found a fix?

Hi.  I’m trying to generate an image and while it does turn it into a generative object, I can’t seem to access the slider bar whether I’m using regular AI or the AI Beta version (both up to date.)  How can I fix it?

I need to scale / tranform 30 - 40 circles from .5 to .25 that are in specifice locations, without moving the circles when scaled.Any suggestions are welcomed.ThanksDannyAI CS6

I enabled scale artwork on artboards and entered a different value in the inspector to increase the size. If I then undo the operation, text elements are not returned to their original positions. Graphic elements are OK. If scaling the artboard with the selection tool, the undo returns to the original state OK. 

My PC specs with all new components:Processor    AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D 12-Core Processor (4.40 GHz)Installed RAM    64.0 GB (61.6 GB usable)  4800 MHz DDR5Graphics card    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 (16 GB)AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (2 GB)System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processorBrand new SSD for my programs with plenty of room for scratch disk. I have messed with deleting preferences, reinstalling, adjusting performance settings in Windows, and looking at anti-virus settings.I’ve run ccleaner a few times.  This is a brand new machine that gets UFO-level ratings on speed tests. It is working as it should except where Illustrator is concerned, and maybe a little laggy with InDesign at times. Illustrator pauses, especially when loading the plugins (which are all default ones - no added plugins). My computer really ramps up audibly whenever Illustrator is started. I don’t know where the conflict lies, but on my old crappy machine that is like 7 years old, it ran faster than this

My script starts with changing the color settings in a file using loadColorSettings. Immediately after that, it starts processing the file. In version 28, the script works fine. Starting from ver 29 (also tried with 30, same issue), the script breaks after loadColorSettings. app.activeDocument becomes empty and i get the error “There is no document”. When I convert a text box using the ‘convert to area’ command, the text box moves horizontally several mm. Same problem if I try to convert using the handle on the right of the box. Have tried different text alignments - no difference.Any idea anyone?

In Adobe After Effects, there’s a convenient feature where double-clicking a shape tool automatically creates a shape with default settings directly in the composition. It’s a very efficient and user-friendly workflow. Could we expect a similar feature to be introduced in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop?

Every time I open a new document/artboard (File > New), I have this huge red outline around my artboard.  Then, when I save things, it is saving it as the red box is my artboard edges, so everything I save ends up very small.  What is this and how do I get rid of it/keep it from populating when starting new?

Hello,We are currently experiencing a recurring issue with Adobe Illustrator 29.8.1 on Windows 11.Illustrator crashes randomly during an active production workflow. The issue is difficult to isolate because it does not happen on one exact step every time. Based on user observation, it may happen while recreating artwork or while moving to the back side of the job.What makes this difficult is that the issue is inconsistent. Sometimes Illustrator crashes unexpectedly, and other times it becomes unstable, does not reopen properly, or stops reloading the current work correctly. In some cases, the user has to reopen Illustrator manually, and there are also times when the user needs to log off or restart the PC before the workflow becomes usable again.We already did extensive troubleshooting, including: reset Illustrator preferences reset/checked plug-ins reviewed crash reports and logs created a new user profile performed a fresh install replaced the original PC with a new unit

After upgrading to Monterey on my Imac all of my .eps files stopped showing the preview in the finder. This is a huge problem, has this happened to anyone else? Any idea on a fix?

In Photoshop, this is beautifully simple and fast.But in Aunty Illie, without clunkily defining a new Graphic Style and applying that to the desired inheriter of the effect(s), how does one apply one or two effects currently applied to Object A, to Object B?And let's assume both Object A and Object B have assorted effects already applied. I just want to take the Drop Shadow from Object A and give it to Object B without messing it's currently applied effects.

Hi all, Does anyone know why the isometric mode in Illustrator isn't at 30 degrees like isometric should be?It's slightly off, which makes it a nightmare to work with if you want pixelperfect results.See attachment, there's a line at 30 degrees, and a square where isometric perspective is applied.The sides of the square should be at 30 degrees, but there are not.Why Adobe?!    

hello, in the image you can see 5 groups of dots, all dots are same size and color with 50% opacity. some of the dots are overlapping and create different colors.is there a way to select the dots by the color that created? flatten transparency ruins the shapes.  is there a script that can center perfectly multiple overlapping object? i want to be able to select all the dots and the overlapping ones will center perfectly.thank you :)
