Questions

Hopefully this makes sense. When I'm using Illustrator, and (for example) click on a path, the properties panel updates to show specific options for that object - alignment, appearance, transform, quick actions. The problem I am currently having is that after a while (seems random) this stops working and the properties panel doesn't update, it just shows the document options instead. When the properties panel is behaving like this, if I click on "Edit Artboards", "Document Setup" or "Preferences" in the panel, none of those buttons do anything. They animate as if they've been clicked but nothing happens. Closing and re-opening the panel also doesn't work. The only solution I have at the moment is closing and re-opening Illustrator, which fixes the issue temporarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's quite frustrating.

Estoy usando Adobe Illustrator 2025 en macOS, pero la herramienta de selección no responde (no me permite ampliar ni mover objetos ni editar formas). Ya probé todo (reinicio, preferencias, archivos nuevos, reinstalación) y nada lo soluciona. Sin embargo, al instalar Illustrator 2022 todo funciona perfecto, así que el problema está en la versión 2025. ¿Pueden reportarlo como bug o darme una solución?

"No Preview Available" for .ai files in Explorer when I click on the file. Is there something in Prefs I could have changed accidentally??I have reset the Prefs several times and have reinstalled Windows 10. Illustrator has every update available.I am working on a Desktop PC w/ separate internal SSD drive for file storage. That is, separate from the SSD C drive. Did I break some communication app to use for the drives to communicate?Same problem w/ .eps files. SVG files and PDF files seem to be OK.

"I have a problem. I always export objects to JPG, and since version 29, I have random issues. For example, a basketball jersey with a number that has a stroke/outline (a margin). Everything is fine in the vector, but when rasterizing, the outline is lost. It doesn't get fixed until I change that number to another one using the same font, and then it works. I've updated Illustrator twice, but this problem appears randomly—it might not show up for a whole week, but then after printing, I always find that the outlines on my numbers are randomly disappearing. What is happening and how can I fix it?"

Hello,My document in Illustrator, is original in RGB color mode, because the purpose of the project is not for printing. But when I exported it to PDF, I found that the colors were a bit "washed out", colors were not as sharp as the color shown on the Illustrator document. When I tried to export it in JPG, it shows the exactly same colors as the original document.  My project will due on Sunday, and I was supposed to submit the PDF file. So I hope I can find the solution as soon as possible. Thank you.

Illustrator user here since Illustrator 88. I have seen years of flinty performance, and many more years of outstanding performance and enhancements. I do admit that every once in awhile you make, what seems to me to be, an unnecessary "improvements" that don't feel logical; but for the most part you all have continued to build a great program. In the late ninties and early twenties there was always the rumor that Illustrator was becoming irrelevant, and would be gone soon. I never believed it!'As an art director and creative director I always made sure my teams were "Illustrator educated". Thank you all for the years you put into this product. The cost of the Creative Suite rises with some frequency and despite my age an work habits, I suspect the suite will be running the most updated version when I leave this life... Preciso achar um objeto em camadas buscando pelo nome, porém, nessa versão do illustrator que instalei não tem a opção de pesquisar (como enviei em anexo). Teria alguma maneira de ativar esse campo de pesquisa?

Re-Link in Illustrator does not show the name of the link you are trying to re-link, and it makes re-linking multiple images virtually impossible. InDesign does it right. Illustrator has it straight up wrong / missing. 

I'm getting this pink box in my Illustrator files. I don't know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? 

I'm placing a PNG file with a transparent background into Illustrator and it's showing a white background in the file. I've managed to remove the background again by selecting the 'Opacity & Mask Define Knockout Shape' tick box in the Opacity settings (image below)  However, when I save the file as an PDF, the white boxes re-appear (image below)Can anyone please help to find a solution to this issue or know what the problem could be?Thank you!

I downloaded the creative cloud to download adobe acrobat, photoshop, and illustrator. I could download everything except for illustrator. In the creative cloud it only gives me the option to download a mobile version or access via web, but I need the app downloaded. I have a 12 core, 16 gb ram, and 512 ssd. Everything is up to date. Laptop is the new microsoft copilot.

Hi, We are experiencing a problem with permission access to the Project folders and files. We have a team of 5 Creative Cloud users, and they are all invited to the Projects folders and files.  All users are under our org Creative Cloud teams account that I administer. All 5 users have access to edit the files.  The other 4 users can access the files without any issues.  1 of the users is unable to access the projects files, but everyone else can. They can see the files and folders under Projects in the Creative Cloud desktop or online app.  But if they try to open a file, they are seeing messages that they do not have access to the file.Oddly, if they use "Open in web" from Creative Cloud app they can open the files with AI beta online.  So they must have access, but it looks like some kind of problem with their desktop app or cloud app. I have checked the permissions for the 1 user and also tried removing and adding again th

I can not be the only one having font issues daily. I'll activate a font at fonts.adobe.com, it'll show up in my cloud, but not show up in Illustrator. Sometimes it does and works just fine but it doesn't work more often than not. The other issue is when I uninstall a font at fonts.adobe.com, but it still shows up in my cloud app. I've toggled activate/deactivate fonts TONS of times, plus uninstalled and reinstalled the font and it takes 6548941 tries before it works. It takes literal HOURS before I can move forward. I have the same font issue after restarting my computer too. It's fonts that I use on the daily like Montseratt, Lato, Roboto, Forma DJR Display, Oswald, etc. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone 🙂 I've been struggling with this for weeks and weeks. I want to place raster images (mostly JPEG or PNG) in Ai, auto trace them, then discard the original image and modify the vector trace for output to SVG. I am using Image Trace > Expand. But I cannot find the original image I placed to delete it. I have tried all the YouTube tricks such as using the Direct Selection to try to grab white space then Select > Same > Color, ungrouping everything, using Ignore White on the trace, but nothing works. I feel like I am missing a key concept here.  I have resorted to placing the image, creating a new layer, then manually tracing the image on the first layer with the pen tool. Then I delete the first layer with the raster image. Works great and I understand what I am doing here, but it is labour intensive and I think I should be able to use the auto trace feature instead. No matter what I select, click on, group or ungroup, I cannot see or understand

Hello All!Happy Friday! Does anyone know how to snap the control (otions) bar back in it's place? I've somehow managed to sepatate it from the 'mains' and cannot figure out how to bring it back to where it belongs - very annoying 😕😕Screen below illustrates the predicament 😕😕 

Hi everyone,I tried to upgrade Illustrator on a Mac Studio 2023 with Sequoia 15.6, from v29.8.1 to the latest v30.0, but immediately after the splash screen, a window appeared saying "Plug-in issues detected." It warned me that the program will run in protected mode and that the "DxfDwgFileFormat.aip" plug-in had been disabled. The suggestions advised me to update or install it, indicating the folder.I searched, but I couldn't find anything with that name (even in hidden folders), and I don't seem to have installed any plugins, not even third-party ones. The plugins folder is empty.I also tried deleting the preferences, but nothing changed.I've currently uninstalled v30.0 and downloaded 29.8.3, which doesn't have any issues, but I'd like to understand what's wrong. This is also because on another computer with the same configuration (a MacBook Pro with Sequoia 15.6), installing v30.0 didn't cause any problems or errors.Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

COnstantly having problem with text display in Illustrator Beta version on Microsoft laptop with Copilot.Text appears laying down what converred to curves - Does not matter which font used. I can't run normal Illustrator on Copilot Laptop - absolutely shocked by it as I just upgraded my laptop  

I've been using the latest version of Illustrator for a full day now on files that were completely wrecked by the font-substitution bug in any version from 29.5 onward. There have been no major issues, and I've been able to process files normally with no crashes. Hopefully, I'm not jinxing anything by saying that Illustrator seems to be back to normal, at least for the time being.

Hello, I had a set of stencils that are for custom baffles. (I no longer have access to them)  I scanned the stencils using a large format scanner and then vectored them in illustrator and exported them in DXF with the idea that it would be simple for a machine shop to use it to cut the sheet metal with a CNC.  I have had 2 different shops tell me they can't use the files as is, as there are no dimensions.  I've downloaded a trial of Hotdoor CADtools to include the dimensions, but I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff and it's honestly too expansive of a subject for me to try and learn in a short time frame for this one project.  Can someone please tell me what I need to do so they can be cut on a CNC?  Or at least recommend a specific tutorial? Would it be easier to do using the original PDF scan or from the vector files I've already created? ThanksThanks

Since the latest update, the way artboard numbers are displayed in documents with many pages has changed — and unfortunately, it's now much worse. The numbers are no longer clearly visible, they overlap with previous pages, and it's hard to tell which page is which. Please revert this to the previous behavior, where the numbering was clear and easy to read.

Any way to resize for different object layouts and canvas sizes. Also create differnt file types with the selected object.  Also another way to upload fonts- as inspiration for the retype tool to generate Rithika Repakula- Max 2025

Bonjour à tous, Je rencontre depuis près d’un an un problème qui s’est nettement aggravé ces dernières semaines.À chaque fois que j’ouvre un logiciel Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.), un grésillement aigu se fait entendre depuis l’intérieur de mon MacBook Pro M4 Max — et non des haut-parleurs. Le bruit apparaît dès le lancement de l’application et s’intensifie lorsque je déplace des curseurs ou interagis avec l’interface. Travaillant souvent dans des environnements calmes, ce son est devenu particulièrement insupportable. J’ai déjà fait vérifier la machine à l’Apple Store : aucun défaut matériel détecté. Le technicien m’a confirmé que le bruit semblait venir de composants internes, possiblement liés à la charge graphique ou énergétique. Le phénomène se produit sur tous les logiciels Adobe sans exception.Je voulais savoir si d’autres utilisateurs rencontraient le même problème, ou si une solution ou un contournement a pu être trouvé de votre côté.&
