Questions

I am having an issue when scaling objects down (and interestingly, not up). When an object is scaled down it creates this sort of fragmented view that will hold until I zoom in or out. Fine with text, but if text is outlined as a shape it does this. I have updated to the most recent version as of today. Help?

I'm having an issue in which the UI of Illustrator is somewhat oversized compared to the other Adobe programs, it's not unusable but the difference is noticable enough to be a bother (screenshot shows comparison to indesign). I haven't been able to check out the UI scaling settings within the program, as the preferences window is also bugged out in some way (way too small to access any of the settings and cannot be resized; also included in the screenshot) -- this is arguably a bigger problem than the oversized UI itself. I have tried reinstalling Illustrator, installing older versions and manually resetting the preferences, none of which have had any effect on the issue. I'm currently on Ai version 29.8.2 operating on macOS Sequoia 15.5. I'd be glad for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. 

So, Illustrator is acting up like an idiot again, for reasons that only Zeus knows.When trying to create a new file, instead of the usual dialog box with all the options and settings, this is what I get: A blank box, with nothing else to to but close.I've done the usual. Quit and ReOpen, reboot the machine... Nothing.I'm running a brand new iMac, the app is fully up to date.I just want to know if this is a known issue with any simple solution before uninstalling and installing again (which seems to be the only solution to Adobe apps these days).Anyone?

Why when I try to create a new custom template and hit create I get this? I am trying to do my assignment but the white background is not popping up. 

I need to replace my old MacBook and wonder if ID and IL will be available and work in a Parallells VM with Windows 11. I need both the macOS and Windows versions for my work (which includes screenshots and screen video). Getting a cheap Windows laptop is not an option because I do not want to drag two laptops around. Therefore, a MacBook and a Windows VM was the perfect solution for me. I tried it in summer 2023 on a MacBook with M2 Pro, but ID and IL were not available in CC for download.Does anyone have such a set-up on a MacBook with M4 Pro chips? If so, what configuration is needed for the MacBook?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if Illustrator is the best Adobe app for designing wood working projects? After reviewing a few tutorials on the Dimension tool in Illustrator I was not able to find enough to get started on the project. There are videos showing how to use the tool to place objects within a room. What it failed to show was how to set up Dimension to "Scale" to fit the artboard. However, after exploring which Scale to use I was able to start the project. A discovery which appears to need some work is setting the line dimension tool or have a dynamic tool. An example I want to set the Dimension too to 5.5 Inch mark. As I am dragging out the 5.5 Inch reference line it stops short at 5.35 inch. I can drag out the line to the 5.5 Inch point. However, the recording at the 5.35 is fixed vice changing based on the line length. There also does not appear a way to set the line dimension manually?

My Illustrator app suddenly does not work in any way. Everytime I open up the program, the app freezes upon the first click, goes unresponsive, and eventually crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I have tried resetting the preferences, I have had a screenshare support sessions with an Adobe Agent, i've updated the drivers to my graphics card, I've tried opening in safe mode, running as administrator, and I've even tried installing previous versions of AI, none of which has gotten me any closer. Occasionally, if the program does no close after 5-10 minutes of being unresponsive, I will be able to open or create a new file and work on the program relatively unhindered, but whenever I try to save that file, it will take me another 5-10 minutes, even if the file is blank.  I also have been able to use other Adobe programs like PS and InDesign just fine without any issues. This has been solely an Illustrator issue. Any help is appreciated

I’m generating SVG code programmatically, with the intention of editing it later in Adobe Illustrator. When I create a <g> element with an id attribute, like <g id="item 1"></g>, Illustrator recognizes it as a group named "item 1" within "Layer 1". However, I want Illustrator to recognize it as a separate layer named "item 1", not just a group. Currently, I’m using an Illustrator script to convert these <g> elements into layers after importing the SVG. But is there a way to write the SVG code so that Illustrator recognizes certain <g> elements as layers from the start?

Wondering if anyone can help me, I hit Save As and nothing pops up but when I clock around I get the error ping noise. I cant use any of the usual things like alt space. Ive restarted my computer, restarted illustrator. Nothing.I usually work on a multi screen setup, i tried to go down to one and see if that would fix it but no dice. Please help if you've been here before. Frustrating.

I have noticed since I started using CC that the eyedropper does not work when trying to pick up color from a placed jpeg. I know for a fact it used to work in CS6 because I did an entire gradient mesh project using this method. Honestly, I don't know quite how else you would do an accurate gradient mesh without this tool. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it just a setting that needs to be changed? My color space is RGB.

I downloaded Illustrator today, though I've used the program a while back.No matter which tool I select, be it shape, brush, move, anything, the symbol which appears at the cursor is a pencil and a circle with a line through it below it. When I click with this tool nothing appears and an error sound occurs.My layers are visible and unlocked. I have selected a color with full opacity. I have created new layers, new documents, restarted illustrator. No tool will create any effect whatsoever. I can't select, move, paint, etc. it just shows the same pencil error symbol.I'm using a Huion 610 tablet which runs a tablet driver in the background. However the problem is identical when I use the mouse instead.I hope there's a viable solution.

Hi all,  hope there is someone out there that has experienced my dilemma and can help sort my problem out.  I'm a crafter/cardmaker and I purchase digital cliparts for my projects, mostly through Etsy and mainly PDFs/SVGs and jpegs.  I recently purchased a Wedding Couple jpeg, in which the groom was wearing a green suit.  When I went to print out on my Canon Pro-S100 printer the whole clipart printed out in a Sepia/pinkish/orangish colouring.  This is the first time that this has happened, so I contacted the seller on Etsy and she suggested making some changes in the drop down list on the Print Dialogue Box to the 'Color Management' ie. Color Handling and Printer Profile.  The changes made no difference to the colouring, they still printed the same.  A few more changes were proposed, which I carried out, but didn't solve the issue.  I have never had to make any changes to any cliparts I have previously purchased ... they have always printed

Hello,  Pour un projet packaging je dois faire des typos en arc de cercle, pour cela j'ai utilisé l'outil texte curviligne mais maintenant, je n'arrrive plus à changer la couleur intérieure du texte.  --> Je peux changer la couleur extérieur en relief (le bleu) --> mais lorsque je double clique pour changer la couleur du texte en lui-même, il me dit que c'est du orange alors que ce n'est pas le cas et quand je mets la bonne couleur, ça l'indique à la place du orange dans "couleur" mais ça ne change absolument rien sur la couleur du texte en lui-même.   Je n'ai pas l'habitude d'utiliser l'outil texte curviligne et c'est un projet assez urgent. Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà eu ce problème et sait comment le résoudre svp ? Aidez-moi svp 🥲  Merci beaucoup et bonne journée à toutes et à tous !

Hello,I updated my Illustrator to the 2023 version and noticed the feature "Scale Artwork with Artboard" is now gone. Is there a way for Adobe to bring this back? I rely on this feature a lot to resize logos and graphics. Thank you!

A long time ago this was made using a third party addon for Illustrator (Phantasm) by Astute Graphics. But since then they've changed their model to subscription only for their entire suite and you can't just choose addons to do.For the life of me, I just cannot figure out how to do this in Illustrator without the addon. With Phantasm I can do a guassian blur and then I can turn it into vectorized dots. I understand there is a halftone option, but when I rasterize the guassian blur pixelate doesn't want to work at all. Could anyone walk me through a little bit of a step by step on what to do in this scenario? 

I've had versions of this happen several times and have never been able to successfully recover my file. I have an .aic file that I've manually saved many times, and have "published" it to be shared. I was working on the file today when the program crashed, and when I re-opened it had reverted to a version from last week, getting rid of lots of my saved changes. There does not seem to be an option to revert to an older version in the "Version History" tab, and I'm not finding any .aid files.  Has anyone experienced this? I otherwise like Adobe Illustrator, but I'm going to have to stop using it if this happens again because I can't keep losing progress this frequently... 

@Monika GauseMy monitor's View Area Height is approximately 330mm/13". I do not have space in my tool bar after installing AG. But you have enough space. What is your monitor's View Area Height?                                                                                                               

Illustrator isn't displaying the characters properly. For example this text W̱SÁNEĆ would drop the accent under the w and display it as W but in the character pannel is shows that the accent is there, it is doesn't display. The same text in pasted into InDesign displays properly. The typeface supports the extra character so it's not the font. Any idea what is going on here?

Pourtant, j’ai la dernière version installée.J’ai déjà désinstallé et réinstallé Illustrator trois fois, mais rien ne change. J’ai aussi essayé avec deux comptes différents et sur deux ordinateurs différents, et le problème persiste.Je ne comprends pas comment faire pour qu’il enregistre correctement sans me demander à chaque fois dans quelle version enregistrer.

I keep making a new artboard and it's turned sideways, every time. No matter what I do I can't get the thing to be right-side up. This is super annoying. Used to be you could rotate the artboard with the artboard tool, now that is not possible. If I make a new artboard on the same file using either the artboard tool or the properties panel, it's sideways. I don't get it. How do I get the artboard to not be sideways?

Batch renaming would be helpful, but at the very least, I would love it if I paste or duplicate a layer or artboard, instead of getting Artboard 1 copy, I get Artboard 2. Auto-numbering should be fairly easy, I would think.

I would love to suggest the feature that we can choose to automatically move guides with Artboards. I have had so many times when I had to add more Artcboards, then use Rearrange Artboards. all my guides are now off — unless I first unlock guides and select them, too which is awkward. Simply adding a checkbox to Artboard Options for "Move Guides with Artboard" would be a simple solution without wrecking the UI.

Is there any way that a c++ plugin can change settings in the Adobe Illustrator perspective grid? I found the suites to set active planes and to manipulate art on the grid, but I need to adjust the grid itself. If the SDK suites won't do it, I hope there's another way, e.g., build a script on the fly and run that. TIA -- Rick

Hellow!Just bought it adobe illustrator monthly subscription for 26,43 eurbut they don`t let me access it.. When i go to open illustrator, it shows buy again! but I just bought it...On my bank account it shows -26,43 eur.On adobe account under my plans is not showing that I bought it.Tomorow is starting my illustrator courses but I can`t access this program. 😞
