Hi everyone,After updating Illustrator to version 30.1, all JPEG files exported from Illustrator are saved at 96 DPI only, regardless of whether I select 300 or 600 DPI in the export settings.Has anyone else encountered this issue?Is there a known workaround or solution?Thank you in advance.Sergey

Dear community,Illustrator no longer works for me. After the program opens, it freezes immediately. I can't do anything. „Program is not responding."I'm using a 2024 MacBook Air with macOS Tahoe 26.1. Illustrator (30.1) is up to date. I've already uninstalled it twice (deleted old versions) and also run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, then reinstalled Illustrator, but none of that helped. Older versions (29.0) also freeze immediately. Closing all other Adobe programs does not help either.Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this?I would be very grateful for any useful tips.Best regards,Alexia

I am unable to open .CGM files in Adobe Illustrator that were generated using Creo Illustrate.Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?The error message displayed is:“The file is an unknown format and cannot be opened.”Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all.This is not easy to describe but if it sounds familiar i'd be interested to hear of a fix.A drawing i've been working on has developed some sort of corruption.It comprises 5 artboards with some relatively simple architectural drawings, text objects, text boxes and some pattern fills. I exported the pages to PDF. Then reopened the file to make a change. `i discovered all the text objects in the file had jumped off their artboards to one side.They had maintained their relative positions. I would normally think that somehow I had moved the text accidently myself. Except that where text was in a box, the text had moved but its box remained in its original place.When I opened timemachine versions of the file, the fault was imposed onto those versions as well.I have reinstalled illustrator but the problem persists.I have had to split the drawing as separate files, 1 artboard per file and am pasting in type from the PDF export of this file.I would like to know what, if a

hi all,this was not a problem yesterday. today, when i export my ai to png, the images are tiny. i can zoom in and they look fine, but they are not acting normal. normally, if i share one via imessage, it appears full size in the message bubble. these appear as tiny thumbnails. when i click to preview, they are still tiny, and i have to zoom in. My work around is to screenshot the zoomed in png. i hate that. it's stupid. i am exporting at 300 dpi, have my doc raster settings set to 300 dpi, and like i said, this wasn't a problem yesterday. Attached pics, vers, system thanks,david   

I have a problem with Roboto and Inter fonts, that are used in an .ai file. The file is created on PC, where both fonts are recently installed (variable fonts), then the file is being edited on Mac, where fonts appear differently, for example, Roboto has larger leading and the font's name isn't showing in the Illustrators Character Panel (but Illustrator doesn't say the font is missing), and Inter Medium is seen as Inter Thin. Does anyone know how this could be solved?

Hllo everyone, I brought in a logo design from chat gpt into illustrator. I want to change the color of soe of the text. When I select the company name with the moc=ve tool it selects certain letters. For example: COMPANY NAME...It selects every letter except the P, N, and M. Therefore, I change the color it is allowing me to change. So I select the letters that it did not change. Underneath the company name is the tagline.  when I select the letters in the compant name two letters in the yagline get selectes also. Therefore, when I change the remainng letters in copany name, two letters inn the tagline also change colors. Somehow they are groupled together. I just want to change the colors in the Company name. Not the tagline. I hope this makes sense. Can someone help me solve this problem > I'm new to illustrator and have searched you tube but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

Depois de atualizaçoes recentes meu illustrator nao tem mais area de trabalho.Funciona normalmente e tambem consigo "selecionar" objetos, mas a area de trabalho fica preta ou branca, nao aparece nada (igual a imagem anexada)Não faço ideia doq fazer 

Depois das ultimas atualizações, objeto não vai pra trás e nem pra frente com atalho cmd+] e cmd+[.Preciso ficar reiniciando o software do Illustrator. Vocês ficam atualizando só que algumas coisas pioram, como por exemplo o tempo de salvamento dos arquivos. Minha máquina é um M4 Max, complicado hein!

In the old days, I'd create a file customized to my preferred document setup, color, layout, specifications, etc. and have it come up on Command+N and Command+Option+N. It wasn't an AIT, just a standard file placed deep in Illustrator's many files and folders. Maybe Presets, maybe Profiles, or somesuch. Would someone be so kind as to tell me where I'd put such a custom-made file in Illustrator 30?

I am a fan of Adobe incoperating a new feature that allows user to change the base color of their artboards in Illustrator 2026, but it seems to lack any practicality when it comes to exporting. While changing the color of the artboard is simple enough, there doesn't seem to be a way to export this background color when exporting the rest of the layers. Am I missing something? Regardless of the export file format, the background color I set is always replaced with white/black/transparency. If I still need to create and color a background shape/layer, doesn't this remove 90% of practical applications for setting a background artboard color?

I am trying to replicate an arrangement I've had on a 2015 iMac running Monterey, Illustrator 2020 and the then current FontAgent desktop application. Now using a new iMac 2024, Illustrator 2026, and the current Font Agent. I've loaded the fonts (all OpenType) and all of the ones I've activated in FontAgent are listed as expected in Illustrator's Character Panel.. THE PROBLEM: I haven't found the way on my new set-up to display ONLY the fonts activated in FontAgent. By some setting (or set of settings), I was able to hide all but the faces I use. I want to create the same ease, efficiency and convenience—100s of typefaces I'll never use are clogging the works. I'll be most grateful for any solution or advice.

Ich habe einen Microsoft Surfae Laptop 7th Edition und konnte bisher Illustrator Beta benutzten. Seit kurzem startet Illustrator aber nicht mehr. Fehler: Ihr Illustrator-Build ist abgelaufen.

Not sure where to post this. When inside CC Home Page there is a link for Illustrator (Ai). However, the link opens Illustrator Beta and not Ai. Tried to see which way the link was pointing or whether it was on my end.

My artwork is just 2.7mb, and the app keeps crashing every few mins. This is extremely frustrating. I was just copying, moving small objects and it just crashed. Prices kept going up and the software reliability is worse in 2025 than compared to 20 years ago.   

I use the share for review usually for the very complex packaging designs.In many cases the package has text on all sides and that means that the texts are sometimes 180 or 90 degrees roteated. Its very inconvinient for the client to comment those texts. So the web interface definately needs a simple 180-90 degrees rotation tool.

Hi, i have been experiencing this error while importing my variable data sheet/csv to illustrator (file attached). I have tried importing it column by column just to make sure there's no error in importing. I tried importing until column 46 which is below 9kb (file attached) and it worked! but right after adding the data in the 47th column (which then exceeds 9kb) then importing it in illustrator it says invalid. Now i tried importing the 47th column seperately just to see if it was the data causing the error, but it wasn't. So does the csv file has a size limit when importing it to illustrator? 

I've recently updated my software to the new macOS (Tahoe). Before that, I saved all of my files, including my portfolio. On the next day I opened my portfolio file, and all of the pictures were gone. They are, and they were embedded, but the picture fields are empty. I don't have all of those pictures anymore, so I can't update them. (I don't even remember half of the placement and what it was).  I've tried reinstalling Illustrator through the desktop app and web and clearing my preferences and media cache. I don't have any recovery files. I've tried running the same file on a different computer with older macOS, and it's not working either. Other files work normally. I rechecked the save date and time, and it's from before the update. If you have any clue what to do, please help me because I really don't want to redo my portfolio that I've been working on for the past 3 months.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this or figured it out yet, but anyway I have been having issues with Illustrator files not opening and saying I need permission from the owner, even though I am the only user and creator of the files. So I had installed illustrator beta a couple of months ago because I like testing new featured and was curious about a couple in the beta. I then started using the beta version for all my work and started to run into the file permissions problem when trying to open older files. Turns out that I cannot open any AIC files that I created with the regular version of Illustrator on the Beta app and vice versa. So although annoying and a waste of space, I have to run the beta app and the regular app so I can open the files when needed.

When I select an object, either with the direct selection tool, or with the selection tool  and then switch to the direct selection tool, the tool options bar doesn't display its contents properly if ALL the nodes are selected. Specifically, the options to make selected nodes smooth or corner, and most importantly, the align and distribute functions for nodes are missing. However, as soon as I deselect just ONE node, or select fewer than all the nodes to begin with, all those options reappear. Unfortunately, especially for the distribute and align functions, not having all the nodes selected yields substantially different results and makes these rather essential functions unusable.Is this known behavior? Is there a fix in the works?

Hi. I'm creating assets in a source file and saving out symbols, brushes etc into libraries to be used in several other separate files within the same project. While im in the original file, editing symbols is easy with just alt+drag to replace the old symbol/brush etc. However when I have saved the symbols into a AI library - and having that library open - the drag and drop no longer works for replacing the library symbols with newer versions. I kinda want all the separate files to always have the latest version of a symbol available via my library window.  So...Is there a way to do this easy or do I have to re-save the library via the original source file everytime I want to change something? Would have been nice just to quickly replacing the symbol directly in the library with the latest version. The tedious workflow would be to cut and paste all symbol/brushes from one file to another and then re-save the assets/symbols/brushes within every file. -or copy every

Hello. I am working with Illustrator 2026 as a hobby. I create logos. I want to get a subscription to use its AI capabilities. Which Adobe Illustrator plan should I buy for this? By AI, I mean something like: "Combine the letters C and A and give me a vector image." I want to do things like that. Which plan is most suitable for me? Firefly seems to be for more professional work. Could you give me some information? I'd like to try it for a month first.
