Hi All! Newbie with a newbie question here.. I am trying to use the envelope distort feature (filling a shape with text) and I'd like to make some slight alterations to the text after it is being distorted.  I tried Expanding the text beforehand, which created the paths beorehand, but after applying the envelope distort effect, the paths seemed to have went away.  Is there any way to make this happen? Or do I have to manually draw in the desired adjustments? Thank you so much!

Art boards in Illustrator don't snap to the nearest numbers and when you export they don't look good. Art boards should snap to full numbers!

Does Ai have a capability to Invert a path similiar to PS when Inverting a Selection?

Buenos diascomunidad, actualice a la version 30 el dia de hoy y mire que en el illustrator en la parte superior aparece el nombre de la mesa de trabajo, me gustaria saber como removerlo o ocultarlo, ya que para mi es muy molesto verlo en el espacio de trabajo ya que para mi es mejor renombrar la mesa de trabajo en el panel de mesa de trabajo y no que no aparezca en mi espacio de trabajo, cualquier solucion respondame  saludos  

Hi there, I have a diagram that i am drawing in 1/4 ration (e.g., if the original length is 20cm, then it's i willdraw as 5cm). When I draw the line, I can use the Line Segment Tool Options and type 20/4 and it will automatically calculate the value for me, which is very handy,. However, sometimes I need to measure the length of a path, so I enable the Ojbects option in the Document Info panel, and it shows me the length of the selected path, which is great. However, the lenth is shown as the calculated value, which makes sense because that's the actual length being used. However, I wil hae to use a calculator and convert the value back each time I want to look up something. Is there a way to set something like scaling factor for a document so that I don't have to do this conversion back and forth? I tried to look up settings in the document, artboard, or the preferences but couldn't find anything. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am working on plugin and I would like to change document color mode in code from RGB to CMYK. SincesAIDocument->SetDocumentColorModel(kDocCMYKColor);only changes the document flag, but does not do the actual conversion, I though the easiest way to do proper conversion was to invoke the already present functionality, as if the user changed the color mode manually:AICommandID to_cmyk_id; sAICommandManager->GetCommandIDFromName(kDocColorCmykCommandStr, &to_cmyk_id); sAIMenu->InvokeMenuAction(to_cmyk_id); This does exactly what I want, it changes the color mode to CMYK with proper conversion. It however breaks the document state inside the plugin.For example, even the following simple call to get document fails, if the InvokeMenuAction codeblock is executed before it.AIDocumentHandle doc = nullptr; sAIDocument->GetDocument(&doc);Is it possible to refresh the state inside the plugin after InvokeMenuAction()? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I try to open a file I'm working on, I get a text import options pop-up when I click okay, then there is nothing on the file. I'm confused. It was working a few days ago.  Thank you to anyone's help! 

Okay, so leaving aside the fact that there's no simple way to just type a percentage in Illustrator & have an image scale quickly, I do at least know that if I place an image & click it comes in at 100%. Now I'm curious... And I'm sure the answer is a simple one & I'm gonna feel really stupid when I find out the answer... But I just don't know what it is... Why is it, when I have this Photoshop file, where the image area is 1000mm x 700mm at 300dpi with some black around the outside & I bring it into illustrator & it tells me it's the same dimensions... Why is it telling me it's 24% & not 100%? *duck & cover* 

Hello,We have noticed that often when working with some .ai files that the 'Use Artboards' button is locked:The files only have 1 Artboard anyway so I wouldnt expect this to be a problem, but it means that our files get duplicated with "-01" added to the end.Both files are identical when opened in Illustrator, we work with thousands of Illustrator files and this is a nightmare for our version control and storage. I can only find help articles asking to 'tick' the greyed out box, not 'untick' the greyed out box.Any files we have where that box is unticked like normal do not have the duplicating problem. Using latest Illustrator Version 29.8.1. I have experienced the same issue with 29.8 and 29.71.It is unclear how this is happening because it is not every file we work on, sometimes it happens to new files created from scratch, sometimes older legacy files created on previous versions. This issue is being experienced by everyone in our team, and resetting our illustra

Hey Illustrators, I am having an issue when using a regular stroke and expanding once stroke / blend has been applied. In screen shots below it shows the stroke fine when it is a stroke (roughly 1-1.5pt with sharp tip option) once expanded it goes all messed. Does anyone know a solution to this? Ty, 

I do not understand why the majority of the time I import very simple polygons and lines in PDF format and they all have clipping masks.There is no  reason for there to be clipping masks on these PDF files, but it seems that Adobe automatically adds clipping masks for no reason. I have to go through the tedious process of looking for every clipping mask and one by one unclip them.The clipping masks tends to span the entire document size.There are the steps I have to go through to "process a file"1) Go through layers panel and unclip all clipping masks one by one.2) Go to the 4 corners of each document and delete all the nodes on each corner for every shape present.  

I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. When working on a file with any amount of artboards, I can copy and paste and that image will show up on another artboard as well. So it's pasting in two places. Seems not to matter how far apart the artboards are. I have tried to install the last version and I'm still getting the same result. I figured they would have addressed it by now. Anyone have a clue as to what is going on?

I use action for "Unlonk All, Create Outlines" and "Embed" by manually.Some times I need to click more than 30 times just for embed...so I tried to avoid for meaningless click.Finally I found Embed scrpit... as below.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------#target Illustratorif ( app.documents.length > 0 ) {   while ( app.activeDocument.placedItems.length > 0 ) {  placedArt = app.activeDocument.placedItems[0];  placedArt.embed();   }}---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------but I can not record script on action. After all this situation, I'm looking for the way to create script that include "Unlonk All, Create Outlines All(Text only but with strock is better), Embed All".Hopefully I can got help

Hi,If I highlight an anchor point with the white arrow tool and turn it into a smooth point it shows both handles of this anchor point on each side of the anchor point itself.Is there a way of pulling out both handles simultaneously so that the resulting curve is equal on both sides.  I can't take a screen shot because on my mac when I take the screen shot the handles disappear.Any help would be awesome.Thanks

I have a problem with the opacity tool. I do not use opacity in my files but after saving and exporting the file as jpg then closing the file and re-opening it suddenly some objects (pictures, text, grouped objects) randomly have opacity on it in random amounts. I have to set the opacity for every object separately to 100% again which is really annoying and time consuming. I have no idea why this happens. It can not be a shortcut which I press accidentally because I did not select the random objects before. And I do not know if I can reset the opacity for the whole file. Does anyone have the same problem? or does someone know how to avoid it? or know an easier way to reset the opacity of random objects and grouped objects?

Quando vado a disegnare e punto la penna ilpunto sul foglio risulta spostato rispetto a dove ho cliccato. in più non mi fa avvicinare le forme fino a toccarsi o combaciare.

 This has never happened to me before, but I've had this happen a few times. Illustrator just randomly zooms in on my artboard, and when I go to zoom out, it gets stuck. It shows as though I am zoomed out to the max, but my artboard isn't actually that big. Also, when I click on my artboard to check the dimensions, it has completely changed the size of my artboard. Can anyone help me with this?
