If I update a file in PS then go to AI there is now a delay in it updating the link. I have to go back out of ai then flip back for it to give me the option to update the link. It used to save the PSD file in the background then update as soon as it saved.

  Hi all, I'm having some odd behaviour in Illustrator: typing new text into an existing (formatted) text box ignores the existing formatting. In the screencap above the text box was formatted to Museo Sans 500. Typing the word "Route" and the letter "P" changed the formatting to Museo Sans 100 for those characters. This has happened over multiple machines (a work Mac, and my personal Windows 11 laptop). It has also happened that the font itself has been changed when typing new characters, i.e. it wouldn't just be a different weight of the existing font but an entirely different font (one used elsewhere in the document) when typing new text into an existing text box. The default font for the above screencap was Myriad Pro Regular, so it's not just that it's using the default font for new text. There are no Paragraph or Character Styles present or active when this happens. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Thanks in advance,Jo

Earlier this week, I opened an AI file with no performance issues before Illustrator 29.6.1. Having issues saving Illustrator files ever since I upgraded to Mac OS 15.6. I select save or use key command but it doesn't save. I have to use Save As. Any fixes for this issue?

This flashing thing happens occasionally (video attached). I can quit and restart and it usually fixes the problem, but it keeps coming back... Using up to date Mac OS system software with the most up to date version of Illustrator. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd like to know if its possible to achieve the line on the right hand side without expanding the path or masking like shown. So i'd like to keep the line a live path, but keep the top and bottom flat like shown.

I was using illustrator earlier in the day and saved my file without any issues. I closed illustrator. Now i am trying to open my file to work on it again and it keeps freezing and will not open. I was able to open a smaller file of 4 MB but it won't open my file which is 11 MB in size. I transferred my file to another computer that has illustator CS6 and it was able to open. I restarted my computer multiple times, deleted caches, deleted folder OOBE, uninstalled illustator, uninstalled the creative app and still won't open. I also notice that illustrator is very slow. Even sometimes opening the app without opening a file causes it to freeze. Please help, i have a deadline in 2 days and i just spent 2 hours trying to open a file unsuccessfully.

Im trying to recreate Calvin Klein logoI got the right font.But as you can see the corners are all wobbly and not sraitghtwhy?How can I fix this?

I dont understand why,1) the default swatch colours go missing under Swatches2) when I open a swatch- it opens a new tab that I can't add under the Swatches tab I would rather have my colours under one tab that I could scroll down through - like they do in Procreate. Please adapt this

La ultima actualización de adobe no me gusto para nada, para mas remate vienen con mas fallas por ejemplo.. • La ventana de muestras en algun momento esconde todos los colores (tienes que hacer click en la forma de vizualicacion para que los vuelva a mostrar nuevamente) desaparecen cuando estas trabajando con varios archivos y pasas de uno a otro.• Trabajo con medidas, entonces modifico estas muchas veces con CMD + K (generales, incremento de teclados) y antes al apretar este comando me dejaba modificar instantaneamente esta opción, pero ahora aparace el click en el buscador.... • En unidad de medida la dejo en milimetros, pero luego al estar trabajndo se cambia solo y vuelve a Puntos.• Algo bueno es que antes al colocar la regla se veia un color magenta al  desplazarte dentro de un arte, al parecer eso ya lo arreglaron. Llevo un dia probando esto espero no encontrarme mas errores o modificaciones no deseadas ( para mas remate me suben el plan el proximo mes, gracia

Greetings!In the latest Adobe Illustrator update, a new feature was added: Recent Colors.Couldn't this feature be optional? That is, couldn't it be turned on or off through the Swatches palette menu?I'll leave two other suggestions that I consider important:1. A keyboard shortcut for the Swatches palette. I've been using Illustrator for decades and have always missed this shortcut. How useful it would be! (It could be a variation of the Colors shortcut, for example, Option/Alt + F6)2. A shortcut for Group Selection (white arrow +). I often edit vectors with this tool, much more than with Direct Selection (white arrow, shortcut A). It could also be a variation of the Direct Selection shortcut, for example, Command/Ctrl + Option/Alt + A.

Okay, this is a weird one, so please bear with me. A lot of my work typically requires detailed editing of component groups within one layer of the drawing. When editing this layer, I am usually zoomed to 1200% or more, navigating between component groups by using the layers menu to select the next group to be edited, and so on.  The groups are component illustrations for different model years of vehicles made by a specific manufacturer and are arranged so that they are on the same layer, sorted in chronological order by year and model and hidden until I need to publish or edit the document.  When editing is required, I can remain zoomed in and easily navigate from one vehicle to the next by simply using the layer menu.  It's usually a quick and simple process: Select groupEdit componentsDeselct groupSelect the next groupRepeat until doneHowever, this is not so simple when the layer menu resets to the top of the layer I am working on every time I attempt to sel

I have a folder containing over 800 PDFs with identical specifications. When I inspect their layers in Illustrator, they're composed of two compound paths and a single path. I just need to open each file, delete the topmost compound path, save it, move on to the next, then rinse-and-repeat. Is there an action, or a set of actions, I could use to accomplish this automatically?

I am creating an action where I am using a menu command, I have added the distort and transform effect from the effect menu. Although this is added, but I am unable to pre-define a set of values here. Right now, It is just getting added.How to achieve that?  

I'm running CS6 on a Windows 8 machine, laptop.Today I noticed that my art boards no longer duplicate contents when I alt-click-drag. It was working fine yesterday so not entirely sure whats going on.It will duplicate the contents if I use the art board toolbar to duplicate the board, but if I just use the keyboard shortcut it just moved an empty art board. Nothing is locked down either. Any ideas??

Illustrator is SO not my thing (I'm more at home in Premiere ... ).   So ... I have two thin long rectangle shapes, with the ends at 45*, and at 90* to each other. I wanted to simply stretch out the lower shape.   I've been through I don't know how many pages of help files on working with shapes and transforming and such ... and nothing would help me simply "pull" the lower horizontal one out longer without changing the shapes at the ends.   I finally set the ends to square, stretched, then reset to the 45* angle.   There's got to be something that allows you to 'pull' the end without altering the shape?   And besides that, I'd like to make them just one thing ... and yet, they're always two separate shapes.   Neil

The issue is that colors randomly flicker within the workspace. This only happens in the workspace, as you can see in the video, where menu and tool elements do not flicker. This issue is unique to Illustrator. Thank you in advance for your help!

Olá. Muitas vezes crio dezenas e dezenas de artboards e acabo duplicando, mudando de posição. Na hora de rearanjar o posicionamento / exportar os artboards, usando o Rename Option, conseguimos mudar o nome de todos os artboards do documento, ficando com uma numeração sequencial. O que é ótimo mas, quando exportamos, por exemplo pra JPEG, a nomeração sequencial não fica bem organizada no nome dos arquivos por ficar fora da ordem quando temos mais que 10 artboards.Em vez de ser, por exemplo "Artboard 1", deveria ter uma opção para que os nomes pudessem ser algo como Artboard 001Artboard 002Artboard 003Para que, quando tenhamos uma grande quantidade de artboards a exportar, não precisemos renomeá-los um a um, manualmente, a cada vez que exportarmos as páginas.Espero ter sido claro e que entendam que seria um recurso de grande ajuda.Obrigado!

Using the latest AI version 29.1When I click in into an existing text box and edit the copy - the font is changed for the new typed text. It doesn't maintain the font of the text that I am editing.Bug? Any ideas why?
