If I update a file in PS then go to AI there is now a delay in it updating the link. I have to go back out of ai then flip back for it to give me the option to update the link. It used to save the PSD file in the background then update as soon as it saved.

A week ago, Illustrator has started showing this message. The file was created on my account and using the same account ever since. What is going on? 

So from what I've been reading, apparently Pantone took out their presets in the Color Libraries, specific under the drop down of "Color Books". This has become an annoyance and I've also read that people have been able to go back into previous versions of Illustrator to import/export the PANTONE swatches they want. However, here's what I'm trying to achieve: - I have a CMYK color that I want to change to a PANTONE color. It used to be that if you wanted to do this, you would click the color, then go to Swatch Libraries > Color Books > PANTONE (Solid Coated), and that would then give you the PANTONE color that resembled your CMYK color the closest. - The key appears to be that the PANTONEs HAVE to be dropped into the Color Books, which I've yet to figure out how to do. I have no problem importing the PANTONES in as color swatches, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to import them into the "Color Books" panel so that I can select it. If anyone can he

While building Ai Command Palette I found a great list of executeMenuCommand() values extracted by Shalako Lee from the 2017 SDK. As you might imagine, some of those commands no longer work, and since I'm about to release v0.2.0 of Ai Command Palette I've been testing them all and keeping track of the results in this Google Sheet.   I'm sharing this here because I figured this might be useful to some of you who write scripts for Illustrator. The sheet includes the Original List of commands from Shalako and a working list of the commands that I'm testing in Ai v26.3.1.   Right now I'm about halfway through the original 506 commands from Shalako's list. So far, I've found about 90 that no longer work. necesito saber porque mi Illustrator me cambia de posición las cifras de un texto enlazado, ya lo pase a formato español, estaba en Arabe y tampoco entiendo el porque, ya que no utilizo Arabe nunca. Lo correcto seria art. 621-50 de la Ley 3/2017 en cambio al tapearlo me lo cambia a art. 50-621 de la Ley 2017/3. son documentos extensos con texto personalizado y es imposible cambiarlo. Borro y vuelvo ponerlo, pero nada pasa. Alguien me puede ayudar?

Hi,1) Since a couple of weeks i experience frequent illustrator crashes. I send the reports all the time, but i'm starting to also get frustrated as the auto-save (set to each minute) does not work. Upon re-opening after a crash, it says it recovered a document, that it will load it as "file (recovered)", and then just loads the last save of it (without the 'recovered' mention in the file name). Okay... another bug.In 2017 AI CC, after using a clipping mask with text on the inside, you could edit your text when you double clicked on the clipping group/mask.Now in AI CC 2018, you can'tSee my screenshot. If text is inside a clipping/group mask, when you try to edit it, the Text properties DO NOT SHOW UP on the Properties Panel.I can open the separate Character Panel itself, but it is missing half of the setting. Why?So, to get around this, I have to cut the text out, paste on the main layer, edit it and then cut/paste it back inside my clipping mask.Or, release the entire mask, make my edits then re-group/mask it afterwards.C'mon you guys... don't you even check out your work before releasing it. Geeeze.

I'm using Illustrator on an 2021 M1 Pro MacBook and I'm seriously having issues with Illustrator: Illustrator will freeze while selecting colours in the colour selection window. It's unpredictable when it will happen, but sooner or later it will happen, i.e. I may be able to select a couple of colours without issues, but then suddenly the app freezes and I can only force-quit it.The app will always crash when I use the "Colour guide" panel to select a colour group. Both issues occur in existing as well as completely new documents. I am currently using the most up to date version 27.6.1 of Illustrator, but this problem has occurred with all previous versions of Illustrator that I've been using on this Mac since ~ 1 year ago. Is there any way to remove the GenAI creation fields from Illustrator’s home screen? It’s just in the way. It’s frustrating to now have to scroll past a massive AI box plus featured ads before I can properly see my recent files list. Either give me an option to hide AI and featured items or at least put them below my recents. They shouldn’t be taking up the screen like this.  

Hello! I’ve been encountering this issue with Illustrator whenever I make a gradient--this only happens with the Free Transform Gradient. When I click on the Free Transform Gradient, all of the points do not fill-in and doesn’t make the gradient at all. It’s only appears blank. I’ve tried Rasterizing it to see if it would work, but it still doesn’t fill. I even made sure that the gradient isn’t applied to the stroke. I’ve also restarted my computer multiple times and still nothing. Can someone please let me know how to fix this? Thank you so much!Gradient points not showing  

I found this discovery fairly alarming: after using generative features, Illustrator retains every single variation of generated vectors within the file. As far as I can tell, these aren't visible anywhere except for the "generation history" tool panel, which I've never opened. I had a pretty simple file that I discovered had 100 variations saved within it. These were the results of me experimenting with some of the new generative features in an earlier version of the file. I had deleted all of the generated vectors awhile ago but kept working within the same document, and I also copied the doc and used it to create other, separate files for this same project. I just recently exported a ton of final assets from these files and delivered them to a client. ALL OF THESE INDIVIDUAL ASSETS INCLUDE THE FULL GENERATION HISTORY. Which means that my client (and whoever else receives any of the files) can see all of these unintended working experiments, but it's also significantly bloating the f

I’m having a problem with finding my pattern brushes when I save them so I can’t import them into another file. The sequence of folders displayed when I save them is pictured. They go into a folder called “Brushes” in the location displayed.However, this sequence of folders does not exist when importing from the brushes window using the “brush libraries menu” In the “Adobe” folder, the fifth in the sequence, there is no folder called “Adobe Illustrator 29” There is a raft of other differences as well. Library and Users is in the “garethwilliams” folder! Does anybody know what I’m doing wrong?Many thanks,Gareth

PDF files used in print production occasionally require image retouching.Today, this can be done directly in Acrobat Pro: select the image, open it in Photoshop, make the necessary changes, save, and the image is automatically updated inside the PDF.Why is the same simple workflow not available in Illustrator?When a PDF is opened in Illustrator, raster images are already recognized and displayed as image objects. Yet there is no straightforward way to open the selected image in Photoshop, edit it, save it, and return to Illustrator.As a result, users often have to switch to Acrobat to perform a task that seems like it should be possible directly inside Illustrator.Please consider adding the same Photoshop round-trip editing workflow that already exists in Acrobat Pro.

Is anyone else experiencing the Dimension tool not working, with the following message coming up in a dialogue box?“The Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. If your Selection tool has suddenly stopped working the way it should — you click an object, but the handles won't let you scale or rotate anymore — you're not alone. This trips up a lot of people, and it's one of those issues that feels like a bug but is actually just a hidden setting that got toggled off without you noticing.  Takes about two seconds once you know where to look. No need to reset your preferences, reinstall anything, or dig through a forum for an hour. The setting is easy to accidentally change — a keyboard shortcut, a drop-down menu click, or even switching tools can toggle it. And because the Selection tool still selects things just fine, you don't immediately think "setting issue" — you think something's broken or a latest update bug! Drop a comment if this helped, or if you've hit a similar Illustrator ‘quirk’ where one hidden toggle was the cause.

No matter what; even if I create a new document with a few squares, and select one of them, Start Global Edit returns: “Global Edit is currently not supported for more than 1000 highlighted objects.”Looks like an awful bug to me, so what do I do?macOS Tahoe 26.5.2, Ai 29.3.1

While using Illustrator 30.3 (and some previous versions) on pretty much any version of Mac OS from the past year, opening Spotlight Search (Cmd+Spacebar) while using the program causes the entire thing to lock up (beachball) for nearly a minute. This bug has existed for at least over a year, because following the solution in the thread here:(which involves having to go into Terminal and rebuilding my Spotlight search index) is the only temporary solution (and in the process, messes up Spotlight’s indexing). Incidentally, attempting to use the Search bar in the ‘Help’ menu also seems to replicate this bug.For the love of god, please fix this already. I’m not going to keep deleting my search index because cramming AI features takes precedent over work-stopping bugs. I’m so utterly fed up.Thank yooou.

I am having some issues trying to select objects that only have an outline. sometimes it registers the selection and sometimes I can click forever without it selecting the object. I can also marquee the selection but then when I go to click move it doesnt work. I have increased the tolerance with no luck. Has anyone else had this issue?
