Hi. Over the last several days I've been working on some illustrations and both files have disappeared for no reason. I'm working on a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro - 13-inch, with the touchbar (if that makes a difference). TLDR: I've lost two .ai files (over 10 hours of work) which I'm sure I saved. I looked in every conceivable place they could have gone, including the trash bin and a full system search, combing through all .ai files on my machine. One disappeared within 20 minutes of saving the file. The next one disappeared (after saving) when I restarted my mac (in an effort to get the first file back) without actually closing the Illustrator project.  THE DETAILS: Things I'm Sure OfThe files were saved before I closed Illustrator.There was nothing unusual about the files. I did not use any third-party plugins that might have messed with them. All shapes and elements in the file were created inside Illustrator except the JPEG I used to trace some elements.&nbsp

I had trouble dragging and dropping from Photoshop 25 to Illustrator 25, but the last upgrade fixed this.  Now after I drag and drop the image disappears a few minutes later and isn't there after saving.

I'm getting “Can’t copy the objects. There isn’t enough memory. ID: -108” in Illustrator, even when copying a simple shape like a rectangle. It happens across different files.Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

Ever since the last two updates, documents in Illustrator take an exceedingly long time to open. I set a timer to see how long it took to open a 1.2 MB Illustrator document saved locally to my DropBox folder… I stopped counting at 6 minutes. I am at a loss for why this might be given the file size. Please fix.  Thanks.  –M

Hello,In Illustrator, is it possible to import a hand drawn sketch, vectorize it and modify its content : by example if I have made a line at the bad dimension on my hand drawn sketch, can I extend this line to the good dimension in Illustrator ?

Why do I need to provide full access to my disk? I have private information and files covered by NDAs that I’m not allowed to share. Why do I have to give access to my entire disk instead of just the folders that are actually needed?I’m already paying Adobe for the software. I shouldn’t have to give Adobe unrestricted access to my computer and allow it to mine my personal information and files just to use Illustrator.Which version of Illustrator does not require this kind of invasive practice? 

Hi,Hidden layers in symbols keep becoming visible when I reopen the file. Is this a bug? Is there a workaround, other than deleting those hidden layers?This is for CS4.Thanks.

Hey all, I had been using the similar filter to find fonts but for awhile it hasn't been working. I thought it was the new update but I haven't seen anybody else post this issue. I am able to use the similar filter in inDesign but not Illustrator. I even tested the same fonts and inDesign does give out similar fonts but Illustrator shows nothing. Is there a setting I may have changed by accident to disable it?

After installing and using the updated version (as well as the previous version after the install), Illustrator lags and takes about 2 seconds to respond to any click, command, or interaction. I've tried working in new files, old files, restarting, remote files, local files, etc. Nothing changes it. It's starting to affect my efficiency and I need to find a solution. I've already read other conversations about this, and none of those answers are my issue. I don't have Magnet or any third party apps. I'm on windows. My laptop handled the programs perfect before the updated software was released. Specs:13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13950HX 2.20 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, 32GB ram.  Also, worth noting: About 6mo - 1yr ago I noticed that copy/paste across the creative suite just randomly doesn't work. I also run into the issue of not having the right brush and the brushes in Illustrator  do not fit my needs. When I searched for a solution, all I found was brushes in Procreate that fit what I needed perfectly. It would save me a lot of time if the brushes were available in Illustrator so I don’t have to create my own each time I need them, and also that the brushes I do create aren’t exactly what I need.

Label Design.ai Hello,I'm trying to design a label for a conical shaped container. Somewhat succeeded by using the envelop tool.But the results are not that satisfactory. Unable to attach .ai for reference - Use G Drive link. Kindly help  

In Illustrator 30.7 the modal Blend Options dialog was replaced with a dedicated Blend panel. Basically, that's an improvement.BUT: Unlike the modal dialog, none of the settings in the new panel can be recorded as part of an action in the Actions panel. That's a pain.Adobe, I guess you can imagine that this is a serious setback for action creators?What is the general reason why you don't make sure that new commands/settings are always actionable? 

Older versions of Illustrator had avertical and horizontal scaling tools, along with being able to angle the type and offset the base line. Those four no longer existing in the character tools. Why were these 4 options removed.

I work at a design firm so moving our files to a different location off our server is not an option. Unfortunately, our files our buried in a sequence a folders that makes the file name 255+ characters long and I can no longer open them on illustrator.  My desktop is able to support the maximum character limit for files (around 30,000+), but I can’t figure out how to make illustrator play along. The internet says there is no way to bypass this feature on illustrator, but has anyone found out how to do it? Can I make a request for the developers to remove or least double the character limit??? Thanks in advance!

Hey all you smart people.Today, I worked on a linked Ps image that has many layers. In this case, I’ve done a few different compositions, all in one Ps doc, and exported each composition as a PNG. But first, I relinked to the working PSD to work out the composition, then exported to PNG, and then relinked the Ai file to the PNG.In the links panel, the linked file is showing the correct name. In the layers panel, it’s still showing the Ps file name. See screen shots, one from the links panel (with the PNG file) and the other from the layers panel (with the PSD). Should the file name also change in the layers panel? Or is this the way it’s always been and I’m just noticing? Have they changed it with the latest update? (more like broken it IMHO.) Or is it a bug?Please advise, thanks.

Hi, I’m using Illustrator 29.3.1 and encountering a strange bug when saving with the “Include Linked File” option. All images in the clipping mask are moved or misaligned.When I uncheck “Include linked file options,” the images are in the correct position.Does anyone experience this issue? Adobe Illustrator freezes immediately whenever I open it and becomes completely unresponsive. I am using a Mac Studio with the M4 Max chip.I have already tried installing an older version of Illustrator, but the same problem still happens. This didn’t happen until about 2025 december.Please advise on what might be causing this and how I can fix it?Thank you

OS 윈도우11일러스트레이터 버전 30.7(64bit) 윈도우 설정에서 27인치 4K 디스플레이의 배율을 150%로 설정하고 사용하고 있습니다. 화면에 공간이 충분하지만 메뉴 항목이 모두 표시되지 않습니다. 그리고 문자 메뉴에서 글꼴의 하위 메뉴 표시는 유독 배율 적용이 되지 않고 작게 표시됩니다. 디스플레이 설정을 100% 배율로 바꾸면 해결되지만 글자가 너무 작아지고, 윈도우 설정을 바꾸지 않고 일러스트레이터의 설정만 바꾸자니 아래 스크린샷 처럼 메뉴 표시 크기가 엉망이 됩니다. 윈도우 설정과의 호환성 개선이 필요해 보입니다. 적어도 저 속터지는 삼각형 아이콘을 클릭해야만 스크롤 되는 답답한 UI가 개선되길 바랍니다.

Hello, I am getting the following error: I will work on a file and save it. And when I try to re-open the file I will get this error. I am saving my files on a server. Also I do not want to keep moving my file from the server to the desktop and back to the server everytime.  

Hello, I am new to Adobe, but I am catching on pretty quickly. A problem I am running into--and it seems like many others have run into as well--is that my activated fonts from the Adobe Font store are not translating completely in each app. I am mostly concerned with Illustrator right now. I have read numerous other posts regarding issues with fonts, and I have tried many suggestions on ways to fix this, but nothing is working. I have tried this with different fonts, but let's take Storefront for example. I activated this font online, which in return showed activated in the Creative Cloud app. The font shows up in Illustrator, but I had to activate it there as well. Once it finally showed ready to use, the text I applied it to automatically reverted to the previous standard font when I clicked the new one. Thus, I am unable to apply the Storefront font. This is happening for every single font I try to add. The standard ones work just fine, but it seems I am unable to ad

I have been using the arc tool to try to connect my serifs but they are not even when I put them on letters like “A”. Is there an better way to do this?  

Gritting my teeth posting this since I don’t care for these tools in Illustrator, but I found this by accident lol. Pretty simple to replicate, I am on on MacOS Tahoe 26.5.1, Illustrator 30.7 I can select any item, it doesn’t seem to matter, and when I right click “Edit in Firefly Boards” it tells me Connection Error. Please check your internet and try again later. My internet is fine and the other AI/generative services are also working fine in testing them.
