Hey guys!I try to use AI for Site plans and analysis for my college. So I decided to use the free source platform OpenStreetMap for data, after I watched a couple videos on youtoube. However, If I want to open the Layers in this OSM PDF, my Illustrator simlpy freezes and doesnt return back to functionality, unlike in the videos Ive seen.Opening the same PDF’s layers in Inkscape works just fine, without any trouble.But I want to use Illustrator thanks to its many options, but its hard when it crashes all the time :(My Graphicscard is a RTX 4070TI And I have 32gb of ram, as well as enough space on my drives.I am really out of any ideas on what to do. I could even try to send a screencapture video.Thanks in advance, if anyone could help me!

i was working in illustrator (beta) 29.3.0 when it crashed. upon reopening it, i got a popup that it recovered the two opened files. i hit 'confirm' to open the recovered files, then nothing happened. can i recover them manually somehome?

when i create art brush. i want the strarting point and endpoint have the same object with no bending image/ distort image. i want to add custom arrow, can someone help me ?

I keep getting the following error message: "Your current color settings discard CMYK profiles in linked content but profiles were set to be honored when this document was created." every time I open an Illustrator document. I have no idea how this setting was set and no idea how to turn it off. I am just using the standard N America Prepress color setting in Bridge. I have tried opening new documents using the supplied Ai CS4 new document profiles, no luck. So I am assuming it's a pref that is set in the app itself, yet I have no idea how to change this setting? I don't even see anything referring to a setting like this. I found this archived discussion: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.59b58d84 which had no resolution. Thought I would throw it out there again and see if anyone has been able to fix this. It drives me insane having to deal with that error every time I open a saved document.

On July 2nd, Creative Cloud unexpectedly disconnected during my work session (confirmed via status.adobe.com). I was logged out, Adobe Fonts were disabled, and Illustrator automatically replaced all missing fonts in several open files – in some cases with completely unrelated fonts like barcode styles.Without any prompt or confirmation, Illustrator saved these changes on closing. The result: corrupted files, with key fonts now appearing at the very bottom of the font list, ungrouped and partially unusable.Additionally, I've been struggling with a longstanding Copy & Paste issue in Illustrator:Certain text blocks can’t be copied between documents – even though the SVG clipboard option is disabled.Questions:- Why does Illustrator silently replace missing fonts and save without asking?- Is there any way to disable or block this behavior?- Are there known fixes for the persistent Copy & Paste issue?This happened right before a deadline and an upcoming print delivery – it cost me a

error message appears when attempting to open InDesign as well as illustratorI have experienced this error when attempting to open InDesign and illustrator several times over the course of a few months now. There is a fix that I found through the Adobe forums that involves repairing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable program files and it works temporarily, but after a few weeks the problem reappears. I have tried installing several versions of both programs to see if it is just affecting a specific version, but it does not appear to make a difference. Please assist when possible, as I require authorization from my company’s tech support department in order to perform the fix every time this problem occurs and it is interfering with my job. Hi all,is it possible to get an answer from Adobe support regarding files saved as .pdf in Illustrator?I found dozens of answers online, but since I'm making a presentation for my company about moving to 1FF (1 File Folder) instead of 2 files (.ai and .pdf),I need some kind of official statement about pros and cons for both versions.From my experience in the previous positions (pharma packaging), I worked with only .pdf and we never had any problem with it. To make things more clear, I'm in the medical devices packaging industry now and things are pretty strict here, and everything has to go through many approvals before it can be used in practice.I hope to get an answer to this from someone at Adobe if it's possible. Of course, help from anyone in the community is appreciated.Thank you.Tommy

After applying an appearance style to a layer which contains multiple object sublayer, toggling the visibility of individual object layers on and off does not function properly. For example,  If I turn off visibility on one of the object sublayers, turning it back on will not make the object visible. This is an issue whether objects are in a group or not. 

I tried resizing my artboard to match my object's size and it seems they don't match.My square object is 50 px x 50 px, and the arboard size is 60 px x 60 px. How to solve this? I didn’t struggle with this issue before.Attaching the evidence. Thanks for replying and sharing your solutions

Why is my pen tool cursor an X? Caps lock is OFF and precise cursor is OFF. Both of these are off. Cursor is still an X.I reset all my preferences to see if it would fix this but it hasn't. Still an X.

white box shows when open in AI and cant get rid of it , does not show on PDF proof or does not show on clients computer that sent me the file please help

The Vector concept isn't working (AI 30.5.1 (64-bit, Windows 11); it throws an error (even though my internet connection is stable). And it deducts points for every failed attempt. Yesterday morning, one image was generated successfully, but every subsequent attempt yielded the same result—nothing—yet the points were still deducted.

I have had no formal training with Illustrator, but I use it almost every day.When preparing new graphics that will be used across many formats -- what size artboard should I use in relation to the graphic size?If I have a 40x40 pixel graphic with a 2 pixel stroke it could potentially be a 44x44, but Illustrator will still read it as 40x40. Meaning if the artboard is 40x40 it will not actually export the completed graphic when I export using artboards.Is there a professional/industry standard rule of them for setting artboard sizes? I’ve never seen any proper training about preparing files for use across different formats and dimensions.Should I set the artboard size after I create my graphic and size the artboard manually?

The illustrator is lag and take some good time to do anything.I`m trying understand if this start after update the Illustrator or was a windows 11 update, Windows Insider program is active, version 25H2 v.26200.8457 is installed.Someone has the same problem?Is there something to fix it? 

A funny but great thing used to happen when I press the spacebar while using gradient tool in older versions of Illustrator. Whenever I pressed the spacebar, the gradient handle bar used to fit the shape.  

Whilst using illustrator on iMac machine keeps restarting continuously until I quit app on startup. All apps and os are up to date. Its driving me insane

I don’t know if this is even possible to calculate somehow, but maybe someone can help. If i have a 200ppi image in a file, and i want it to keep the size, but have 150 ppi, is there a way to calculate what ppi i have to use for rasterizing? I am aware that rasterizing an image from 200 ppi to 150 ppi will not give out the same result as rasterizing a vector object to 150 ppi. Again, for exampleVector object > rasterize 150 ppi > object with certain “pixel density” 200 ppi image > rasterise ? ppi > object with same pixel density as option 1 (150 ppi) < is this even possible?  

When I log into my Adobe account, I subscribe to Illustrator for iPad and when I logged in all my files have disappeared, please help

This dialogue window pops up every time I launch Adobe Illustrator. I’m not sure how to fix it—I uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. What is ScribbleUI.aip? Is it possible to remove it? If so, how?

I have been working for about an hour and had a crash.  However,  Illustrator did not attempt to recover the file I had been working on. Automatically Save Recover Data Every:  2 mintues is selected.Turn off Data Recovery for completex documents was also selected, but this document consisted of about 100 rectanges, 20 lines, and 30 text elements - is that complex? Also it give the folder as "/Users/...ences/Adobe Illustrator 22 Settings/en_US/DataRecovery. Three stupid things about this: 1) The directory is truncated so I have no idea where to find it.  Make this a text field that can scroll so I can actually read the path.2) If I click"Choose" it does not select the current Auto Record folder - if it did, then I could at least find it. 3) I am using Adobe Illustrator 24.1.2 on the Mac (OS version 10.15.4).  Why does it have "Adobe Illustrator 22 Settings" in the Data Recovery path? The Adobe Illustrator 22 folder does not exist on

Hello Adobe Team and Community,I am experiencing a critical, persistent freezing issue with Adobe Illustrator 2026 on my Windows machine. The application launches fine, but it completely freezes and becomes unresponsive ("Not Responding") the exact moment I attempt to create a New Document or open any existing .ai file. It gets stuck indefinitely on the "Welcome to Illustrator" screen.Interestingly, I have found two specific workarounds, but both severely impact my professional workflow: Running as Administrator: If I launch Illustrator as an Administrator, files open perfectly fine without any freezes. However, due to Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions, running in Admin Mode completely breaks the "Drag and Drop" functionality for images and assets from Windows Explorer into the canvas. Disabling GPU Performance: If I open Illustrator (via Admin mode), navigate to Preferences > Performance, and uncheck "GPU Performance", the application no longer freezes when opening
