Questions

I have a txt box with the correct styles desired. I copy and paste in txt from Word by placing my cursor somewhere in between some of the styled txt in INDD, in hopes it'll now take on those styles. That's not the case. Can you advise how when pasting in, it can take on those properties? Thank you.

I've just downloaded Plugins SDK 19.3.0.58. I'm running XCode 15.3 on Sonoma 14.4.1. Open the SDKSamples workspace.2. Build fails at line 73 integral_wrapper.hpp error integer value -1 is outside the valid range of values [0, 3] for this enumeration type So, seemingly this is a Boost version issue. If I download the current Boost 1.84.0_1, I can use it with no problem in a new XCode C++ project. But, since Boost (1_74) is distributed *with* the sdk, we assume it's a strict dependency? Any suggestions how I can resolve to get a functioning plugin development tooling set up? TIA,Jim

Hello and welcome, I have a subscription to the cloud with all the applications, for convenience I am working on version 17 of InDesign, a few days ago I got a message that the application will be closed in 5 days and I don't understand why? I pay you every month for the subscription, I can't update to the new version, it requires me to change my computer, it doesn't allow me to download version 19 at all because there is no computer compatibility, what do I do?

Hi all, I'm not a super frequent ID user--I designed an indie book several years ago, and learned just enough to be dangerous, but my author is asking for a paperback version, and trying to tweak the files is giving me an enormous headache. Original document: created summer 2021, Lucida Bright font. Now the weird part. I shift+selected both text boxes and the author photo, and I've set the clipboard handling to paste all formatting, etc, but it's coming out like this: As you can see, the text looks.... beefier, and the sculpting around the capital R is totally gone. The hanging indent around Mary's picture remains. When I try to type in either of these boxes, the text momentarily goes back to its more delicate appearance, but reverts quickly to this pixely, semibold mess. It also seems to be a different size, even though both documents say the font is the same size, and any alterations to the font create absolute formatting hell (below, going from 16 to 17pt).I am hoping

Bonjour,Je n'arrive plus à modifier la taille de mes tableaux en utilisant la touche MAJ + clique et faire glisser avec la souris jusqu'à obtenir la taille souhaitée. J'ai dû modifier un réglage mais je ne vois pas lequel. Je suis obligée de modifier la taille des colonnes et des lignes à chaque fois pour rétrécir ou agrandir mon tableau. Why does the green button on the upper left window for adobe apps not have the function to tile? I want to keep an Indesign document and a window in chrome open AT THE SAME TIME. I am copying and pasting data from a website into an Indesign document. I can't keep both windows open at the same time. When I open one, the other closes. The green button tile function works on Acrobat but not any other Adobe apps. It also works on all my Microsoft apps as well as chrome. I am using Mac Monterey. Currently green button on adobe apps looks like the left screen with only the ability to maximize or minimize the window, with no options to tile the window as shown on the right screen.

I've posted about this bug before. This has been an ongoing problem for at least a year or more. I thought when I upgraded my Mac it would go away. And, I'm always on top of my Adobe software updates. The only workaround is to reset the preferences. It's such a hassle! I have to do a prefs reset at least once a week. Is anyone at Adobe ever going to address this problem?

Hello all,I'm trying to create a digital version of a newspaper I have worked on for a client. It's on its 17th edition now and I've not come across this problem before - everything has always worked perfectly.Two of the links/images are missing from the digital version. Everything looks fine on various browsers on my Mac but the two images appear to be missing when my client tries to view the newspaper on her PC.Any ideas? I'm stumped!One of the images is a pdf and the other is a jpeg so I can't even put it down to file type. The same document contains lots of jpegs and pdf links/images so not sure why these two would keep throwing up problems.Thanks!

I've seen a few other posts about this but they were older and no one really provided an answer for my specific situation.I was having some trouble with an 8-page InDesign CC 2014 file (on a Mac) so I tried to export it as an IDML file. As soon as I clicked "export," InDesign crashed. I tried a few more things, such as saving the file as 1, 2, or 3 of the pages at once, and every time I tried to export, the same thing happened. So I created a new file, imported the text again (from Excel), and applied all the paragraph style to the text. Everything seemed fine until I tried to copy a bit of the text. When I selected "Copy," InDesign hung and I had to force quit.After that, I decided to change the parameters of some of the paragraph styles to see if that might help. As I was trying to make changes, I selected "Bullets and Numbering" because one of my paragraph style includes bullets. I'll cut to the chase. Wondering if anyone knows how to have an item (logo or text box) that is on a Parent Page and properly tagged respect that tagging when creating an ADA PDF. It seems items on the Parent Pages are ignored.

Hi everyone,I'm a graphic designer working on medical-related projects, and I often encounter technical medical terms in my InDesign files. Unfortunately, many of these terms are highlighted as spelling errors by InDesign's dynamic spelling feature, even when they are correct. Sometimes, genuine misspellings get overlooked because they resemble legitimate medical terms. I tried US Medical Disctionary. But its not covering all the Medical words.To streamline my workflow, I'm considering extracting all the words flagged by dynamic spelling from my proofread and approved files. I plan to compile these terms into a list and add them to my user dictionary in InDesign.Could anyone advise on the best way to collect these dynamically highlighted words in bulk? Would love to know if Indesign plans on having a 'share' feature to invite people to edit the document. This would be very helpful for a team of designers so we can collaborate toegther using the one document. This feature is availble on Illustrator, but not on Indesign. 

I use Acrobat to make comments from a proofreader and then import them to InDesign for the designers to make changes. When I import the comments, some of the comments are no longer mapped to the text. I have noticed that it appears to be comments for text that has a stroke or effect on it or has a photo behind it. That does not seem to be the only case of the comments that come unmapped, but just a couple of commonalities that I noticed. These are not parent page items. Is there a fix for this issue? 

HelloI embebed an mp3 file into the InDesign v. 15 doc. I create the button with all parameter. In preview I do clic on the button and the music sounds but when I export to pdf(pdf2024) nothing happens. Please. I dont know what else to do.Ana 

On an imac I recently upgraded to INDD 10.5. I'm still using the previous version as well. Since then, after I download a file to the download file on my computer, it opens fine, but when I transfer or copy it to an external hard drive Iand try to save it, I get an error message that the file is damaged. Frustrating to say the least. 

Just purchased an InDesign template from Adobe Express. When attempting to copy-paste items in this template, InDesign immediately crashes. Really unhelpful when trying to (re)design the original layout. Having to restart InDesign every couple of minutes gets quite frustrating. What to do? My InDesign CC is (automatically) updated, so I guess its the template that might be corrupt. Why sell a corrupt template in Adobe Express is the next anwer...hope someone can help me out!

I have a problem that seems to be getting worse. About six months ago, InDesign started showing the old instead of the new text on my screen. For example, I replaced the text in the frame with a new one, went to another page and came back - and it showed me the old page with the old text. However, after tapping the cursor on the text in frame, although the old text was displayed, it indicated the new text. It marked line breaks, words... of new text. It worked with the new text but still displayed the old one. A higher level was added yesterday. The text disappeared. It was showing empty frames. But the text was in them. It was only when I reassigned a color to him - the same one he had, that it showed him. After saving, closing and opening the file, it displays the text correctly. This happens during work. Desde hace un tiempo cuando quiero añadir un elemento o editarlo en una biblioteca en indesign 18.5.2 no me deja.Cuando quiero añadirlo se queda pensando la biblioteca, hasta que desaparece el elemento.Cuando quiero editar, al dar doble click para editar, simplemente no hace nada, y no se abre para editar... Alguna idea, muchas gracias
