We're a marketing company and we've just migrated to the cloud using AWS S3 compatible storage. Can the Adobe applications (such as InDesign) be connected to alternative 3rd party cloud storage providers, specifically s3 or s3 compatible Object storage solutions? And if so, how do we set that up in Adobe? Our storage provider isn't able to help because they don't have experience with Adobe and no one from Adobe has been able to help us with this issue. HelloWhen using "BreakFrame.jsx" to hopefully unlink a frame with images from my text thread, it does so but also removes every link in the thread, before and after the spot broken. I then had to manually relink all of the pages. Is there a way to do this and maintain the links, simply skipping over that image frame?

Can someone tell me how to fix this problem I have been having for a long time? High quality view is not working correctly. After shifting an image, it turns into a grey box. After nudging it I get the image back. I also noticed InDesign lagging alot. See pictures for more detail about system and hardware. Thanks Victor

I’m not an InDesign user, though I work with a designer who uses InDesign to produce a regular What’s On publication. I pull the events from a database, and supply them to him as plain text, one para per event. He then formats each event with styles for date, title, venue and descriptive text. As far as I can tell (I live a long way away) that is a manual process. Also, I get the impression he is unfamiliar with the use of markup languages. What I would like to do is pre-process the file I send him, so each record is automatically marked up in an explicit, html-type way. This would be quite easy to do. The result might look like this (the ‘code’ is obviously just illustrative): <Times, 16, bold, blue>July 1.<Times, 14, italic, red>Event Title.<Times, 12, bold, black>The Venue.<Times, 12, black>Descriptive text. or, if the designer can map values to placeholder tags, like this: <Date>July 1.<Title>Event Title.<Venue>The Venue

Can one -click to allow the Indesign screen to live in the middle, and the layout is enlarged to 80%(or other)?80%amplified, the screen is in front of the sight. Close to the toolbar on the left.In any state. One -click restore to 80%.I only know that double -click the large mirror can enlarge the layout to 80%.But the layout is not necessarily in the right position.Thank you~

Liebes Forum, ich weiß nicht, ob ich hier oder im Arbobat-Forum posten sollte. Ich probiere es mal zunächst hier. Mein Kunde möchte ein in InDesign gestaltetes A4-Infoblatt als PDF an seine Partner verschicken. Darin stehen u. a. personalisierte Gutschein-Codes sowie entsprechende postalische Adressen und URLs. Da es sich um insgesamt knapp 1.500 finale PDF-Dateien handelt und der manuelle Einsatz sein Budget sprengen würde, stellt sich die Frage, ob man die Dokumente aus InDesign heraus mit einer Excel-Tabelle füttern könnte und die Daten irgendwie via Script und/oder GREP implementieren könnte. Leider habe ich von Scripts und GREP keine Ahnung und suche jetzt nach einer gangbaren Lösung. Bin für jeden Vorschlag sehr dankbar.Ralf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------English version Dear Forum, I am not sure whether I should post here or in the Acrobat forum. Die Boxen bei Ausrichten und Textumfluss sind seit ein paar Tagen leer, gibt es dafür eine Erklärung? 

Hi.New to import word document to Indesign, but read a lot of tutorials. I made grid and paragrafstyles, but I´ve an issue with footnotes. Its like Indesign makes a tab, that i cant remove in first footnote (see red area at attached photo). How do I fix that? And can I change all numbering from normal numbers to superscript with find and replace?Best regards Peter. 

Hallo liebe Community, bei der Erstellung eines eBooks (epub umfließend) habe ich folgendes Problem:Die Endnoten werden zwar korrekt dargstellt, allerdings wird in der Vorschau um den Textrahmen und sehr unschöner schwarzer Rahmen erstellt. (Ein Bild dazu habe ich angehängt.) Für die Vorschau des eBooks nutze ich den Kindle Previewer 3. Das Buch soll nachher auch über Amazon als Kindle-Download verfügbar sein. Hat jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte?Ich hatte mir schon die Objektexporteinstellungen des Textrahmens angeschaut. Da bin ich leider nicht weiter gekommen. Vielleicht hat ja jemand einen Impuls für mich! Vielen lieben Dank!

Hi!  Ich arbeite gerade an einem Projekt für einen Klienten mit einem Markennamen, der aus zwei Wörtern besteht. Kann ich die Marke irgendwie in meinem Dokument anlegen, sodass Indesign den Namen nicht mittendrin mit einem Zeilenumbruch trennt?  Dankeschön!!  

Recently when I move the cursor around, I get flicker and refresh on the display. NEVER HAVE I HAD THIS BEFORE!   I also get RANDOM REFRESH. NEVER HAVE I HAD THIS BEFORE!!!   I also have an issue when I paste a vector graphicc that has 80% K and 100% K, it changes the 80%K to 4/c. If I place that same icon into a blank page it pastes fine. Both color space setting are the same.    

I was moving too fast and accidentally clicked the box for InDesign to stop reminding me about Overset Text.  I do not want that, I appreciate if I miss the notification at the bottom of the file to be reminded before I print.  Anyone know how to undo that check box?  I do know how to fix the issue of Overset Text without a reminder, but it is just a second line of defense for me. This is on version 19.4 x64, Adobe for Enterprise Thank you.

Hi everyone!  I'm currently working on a piece for a client with a two word brand name. How can I stop Indesign from separating the brand name, by breaking the lines in my text between the two words? Is there a way to only ever display the words together in one line? Thank you 🙂 

Hello, I have been trying to solve an issue with the textbox in InDesign for the past 2 hours. Despite watching various guidelines and videos, I'm still experiencing a problem where the whole paragraph disappears whenever the text exceeds the textbox's border. I'm also unable to adjust the size of the textbox while keeping all the text as intended. For example, when I make the textbox narrower, the entire paragraph disappears instead of pushing the text downwards. As a user, I find this aspect of InDesign challenging. Could you please provide an effective solution to resolve this issue? It would be helpful if the textbox flow could be set to behave similarly to PowerPoint by default in future instances. Thank you in advance. Operations:Desktop Windows (latest version)InDesign (latest version) 

Hello! I have a problem with the creation of an alternate layout. I made one but the older one (primary layout) is still on the back of the alternate layout and cover my objects or graphics. PLus i cant get rid of its boundaries. PLEAAASSEEEEE SOMEONE HELP IM GOING CRAZY HERE.

I'm using the publish online feature to create a multi-page handbook for a client who wants to have embedded audio and video. The video seems straightforward – adding an mp4 gives me a video player with some basic controls. Can you do the same with audio? When I link to an mp3 I get a play button… but that's it. Is there a way to have an embedded audio player with controls – so just the same as the video only without the visual. Been googling this but getting nowhere!

Is there any way of making non-contiguous text selections in InDesign? In other words, selecting two or three different words in a long sentence (to which one can then apply character formatting). TIA Hugh p.s. this is something that I do easily in Word (mac) by simply holding down the Alt/Option key.

So the TOC that you can navigate inside the EPUB exported from ID takes directly from the file names (which are slightly different from chapter names, for tracking/filing purposes) which of course is terrible inside the EPUB. Any solutions to changiung the chapter titles in the EPUB without chaging the names to the files themselvs and reloading those into the .indb, and all the work that would have to follow? Normally I'd just hold the shift key down to resize an image or object in InDesign CC to constrain its proportions. Lately when I try to resize an image, the shift key doesn't do anything anymore. It no longer holds the proportions of the image box. Is there a way to fix this problem or is there a new tool that replaces the hot key shortcut? Transform > Scale is taking way too much time to resize an image to the proper size I need it to be.Any and all help is very appreciated.-Jon

On any page, how to find my next letter quickly?I have some specific characters, such as ABCD, etc., which uses the "Start Page" paragraph style.Among them, A is located on page 2, B is located on page 5, C is on page 12, and D is on page 19.I can remember only 4, and I can jump directly.If there are more than 20, there is no fast way to create a link, you can directly click and jump to the target page.I used to use the "reference" link to the anchor point function, but that was actually troublesome.What are the simple and fast ways you.

Hi there,  I'm looking for a script that will help me export one layered InDesign in multiple variations at once. This is to generate product info sheets where the contact information (and some of the product data) is different dependent on country. The build will be something like this…Layer 1: Parent content — should be used in conjunction with all other layers (think logo, title etc).Layer 2 to 10*: Country 1 version (with address etc in footer as well as localised content) *This could be any number, right now I'm looking at 3 separate versions, but this will grow. Ideally, the export would export Layer 1 and Layer 2 as one PDF (with the name of Layer 2 at the end of the file name), Layer 1 and Layer 3 as a second PDF, Layer 1 and Layer 4 as a third PDF etc etc. So if I had Layer 1 plus 3 other layers, I'd end up with 3 separate PDFs. I'd also like to export by spread using the product name (which would always be on Layer 1) as the first half of th
