Questions

First, this is not a question about LR Mobile. LR Classic on my mac (14.1 operating system) is not uploading images from my iphone. I get only random images, out of order, and only a few. I have checked Full Access in Settings and LR Classic is checked, so I don't think that's the problem. I got a msg to sync catalog, which I did but sync never finishes. Eventualy got another message: "Sync download location is not accessible." I don't know how to correct that. Another message: "LR cannot write to the following directories. Until this problem is resolved syncing from LR may not function correctly." There's an option to Show in Finder, which takes me to Users, but I don't know what to do then.  I just tried to import from Desktop, Pictures and external HD, but they're also a no go. They had been but all my tinkering with this issue changed that too. Many many thanks for your help. LGracey  

When I try to import cr3 files into lightroom the picture thumbnail (where the picture is supposed to be) I rather see a "Preview unavailble for this file" and when I still import it I get an error which says "this file seems to be unsupported or damaged". But I don't think it's damaged because the windows photos app can view the image so I don't know why I can't open it in lightroom. I use a lightroom version 12.0 and the camera I used to take the pictures was a Conan R8 

Good evening. I' want deactive the Show Import Dialog When A Memory Card Is Detected. Ok i' go to Preferences > General > Show Import Dialog When A Memory Card Is Detected and unflag. Well or not well the feature non deactive. The LRC is 14.01 

When toggling through the overlays of the crop tool in develop module with the shortcut 'O', it would be very helpful to have an overlay showing the frame of a crop with the aspect ratio of 1:1. Often 1:1 crops of a photo will be used as a preview. For example: I want to post a 4:5 portrait shot on Instagram but for the 1:1 gallery grid view the top and bottom of the shot will be cropped automatically. I would love to check in Lightroom how my 4:5 photo will look in the gallery grid view of Instagram without actually cropping it. There already is an overlay showing different frames like 4:5, 5:7 or 2:3. Please add 1:1, too 🙂 I didn't found a related topic. Also feel free to suggest other solutions to my problem. I would love to learn how other photographers handle this issue 🙂 Kind regardsRichard

On Monday I downloaded some photos to work on them in Lightroom, all good and excellent. Finish working and close the application. The next day I open the app and it starts to give me slowness problems and sometimes it doesn't open (the application gets frizzy). Has anyone had this mishap and if they have solved it?

Hi. I use a Lumix G9 camera and have been using the monochrome facility in the scenery option. I then import into LRC and images show in B&W in Library mode but as soon as I turn to Develop mode the images all become colour again. What do I do to keep the B&W images the way I took them?

Ich arbeite jeden Tag mit Lightroom und eben gerade habe ich festgestellt, dass das Kontext Menü bearbeiten innen bei mir ausgegraut. Ich kann kein Photoshop und keine weiteren verknüpften Programme öffnen.  Meine Lightroom Version 14 1.1Mac Studio OSX 15 1.1   Fotos exportieren und Fotos drucken funktioniert auch das bearbeiten im Bibliothek Modul. Der bearbeiten in Kontextmenüpunkt ist ausgegraut und alle Punkte ebenfalls.  Das synchronisieren der Einstellungen auf andere Bilder funktioniert nicht für alle Bearbeitungspiunkte. vgClaas Abraham 

Since a couple of days my Lightroom starts up very slow. I optimized my catalogue and checked memory en hard drives on the pc (windows 11). When sending pictures to Photoshop it takes minutes to open PS (taking a lot of time on checking memory and loading preferences). If I open Photoshop on it's own (when LR is not running) it opens in a few seconds. So the bug must be inside Lightroom. This started on the previous version, I had an update this morning. It seems to be a tiny bit faster than yesterday. Any idea what may cause this? 

I am unable to update Lightroom Classic. I have tried all the recommended solutions, but I keep getting the message of error 146. This is all the more incomprehensible because updating until now (version 13.4) always went smoothly. And updating Lightroom CC, Photoshop and Photoshop beta also goes fine. I am getting desperate.What could be the problem?I use MacOS Ventura 13.6.7

Hi first time here.   Appreciate any help. I purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 in 20213 (full version not online) .  Replaced this computer recently and tried to install on Windows 11 from my products page but it says the installer is not available.    Is there anyway to obtain it again?   It wasn't cheap $150 US and was still functioning and suited my purposes.  I tried to contact Adobe support but you have to have an active plan?   Is there no way to contact support?   I'd even purchase/upgrade to a new version but there are only online plans now which I would rather not subscribe to.   Any options to get the full latest version to install on my new PC ?

This is not really a new thing.  I noticed it when it was first introduced.  I thought maybe it would get better over time, but doesn't seem to be the case.  The Lens Blur module is useful to me sometimes, but I've found that it's very, very slow and laggy.  Any way to improve this, or is that just how it is?  My PC isn't the most modern, but it's got decent specs.  Win10 64, 32GB RAM, RTX2070 card with 8GB VRAM.

When starting a first mask with LR 13.5.1, latest Nvidia driver installed, there is a MARKED delay before the mask begins to be generated (and sometimes is not).  With trial-and-error, I found that clicking on another part of the screen (away from LR) or another screen causes the mask generation to begin almost immediately.This is a reliable workaround but to do it for multiple masks on a given image, it is really annoying.As an aside, clicking away from LR causes the second image (F11) to disappear....and sometimes not appear when returning to LR.I tried this with and without video driver enhancement, no difference.Is this me or a bug? I also noticed with this latest LR release that editing (opening a CR3 file) into PS is very slow, compared to the past releases of LR. System info below:Lightroom Classic version: 13.5.1 [ 202408271704-d15d09cd ]License: Creative CloudLanguage setting: enOperating system: Windows 11 - Business EditionVersion: 11.0.22631Application archit

Just went on to LR Classic and found note saying it should be upgraded and catalog would be preserved.  So I upgraded.  Tried some of my standard keyword searches and keep getting message that no matches were found.  Went through chunk of the LR catalog (grid search) and clicked on numerous photos and keywords are there but am not able to retrieve photos related around standard keywords.  HELP

I created a collection set to organize photos for a book. I uploaded the finished book to Blurb and created a saved book. Can I remove the photos from the collection set and have them remain in the saved book?   Thank you, Ruth Goodman Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1

I downloaded the latest 14 version of LRC last week. This week I imported new photos to edit, and there was constant error with the subject masks I use, that every time I 'fixed' it as the LRC asked, it came back again.  I read in this forum that there is another update 14.0.1 that fixes it. I downloaded it also, and the problem hasn't gone.  After a lot of tries and frustrations I downloaded back the old 13.x version, and went back to the old catalog,uploaded the photos all over again, started to edit again and still this error exist!  I can continue working with this right now, and I have costumers waiting for their photos, and also I have my whole time dedicated to editing - I simply can't edit and do my work because of this bug!  Please, help me and fix it!

I've seen commentary by people who appear to be expert Lightroom users, giving contradictory information about large catalogs in Lightroom Classic. Some say 100,000 images in a catgalog is totally fine, and others say that Lightroom starts slowing down when you hit 10,000. I have LR 6.14 on a desktop PC with about 46,000 images in the catalog. The PC is running Windows 10 and has 24 GB of ram and a quad core CPU. The catalog is on an internal SSD drive. It sometimes get pathologically slow, for example taking 10 seconds to click on an image when selecting it in the Grid view. Sometimes it seems to just go out to lunch for minutes with the program winking out and reappearing, unresponsive until it settles down. On the other hand, scrolling in Grid view is usually responsive. I have the graphics accelerator suppor turned off becuse LR crashes more often with it on (yes, I have the latest drivers).

I use a laptop for all my editing but it only has a small SSD drive and so at the moment I have the original files stored on a portable external 1TB hard drive which I plug in when I want to use lightroom. I have just purchased a NAS for backups but I also thought if it was set up as a personal cloud at home, I could store my original (ever expanding) photo files on that drive and access them with lightroom classic on my laptop. (leaving the catalogue on the local laptop drive)1. Is that setup possible and my best option?2. How do I set this up in LR once I move the files from the portable external hard drive?Thanking you in anticipation.Gavin

Latest windows Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100Updated today to lightroomj classic 14.1, photoshop 26.1 and Bridge 15.0.1Photoshop and bridge atart and seem to work finelightroom classic does NOT start no matter which icon I use that say OPEN.No joy at all, trie drestarting windpows etc etc no luckCan I go back to previous version which was really enough for me? 

When I try to edit a RAW file in Lightroom using Photoshop, CR2 or DNG, it opens directly in Photoshop and not in Camera Raw Plug-in. Any help will be appreciate.Lightroom Classic CC / Photoshop CC / Camera Raw (last versions)JC

Hello I am trying to move a folder from one parent folder to another but LR is telling me the folder already exists in the destination folder and does not allow the move.. The folder is named by a date, 2022-07-03 and I want to move it into that years images.  The parent folder is just called 2022. There is a folder with images in the correct location in my library but is does not show up in my LR folder list. The folder I want to move is also in my Library and shows the same images as the other folder.  I can search "All Im ages for an image from the folder but only the one is found, in the folder I want to move!. If I try to import the images from the first folder to the folder supposed to be in the Library already, they  cannot be selected and on the destinations side, the folder shows as being in place. To try a work around, I imported an image into the destination folder, gone to the file location and it is the only image in that folder

Bonsoir, Je rencontre un énorme problème depuis ce matin. Malgré plusieurs re démarrage de mon MAC lightroom Classic ne veut pas s'ouvrir.Toujours le même message " Adobe Lightroom Classic a quitté de manière imprévue.Cliquez sur signaler pour avoir plus de détails et envoyer un rappport à Apple"  J'ai essayer de cliquer sur "Signaler", RIEN ! J'ai testé " Ignorer", RIEN ... Svp , j'ai besoin d'aide .... 

I am using the blur background adaptive preset.  But it doesn't select everything perfectly.  How do I refine the mask created when using that preset?   Thank you for any help.

I've been going crazy trying to get my prints to match my screen. I have a color-calibrated monitor, and I have used both self-generated (via i1Studio) and Canon-supplied profiles. Last night I made two prints, one from Lightroom Classic (14.0.1 release) and one from Photoshop Beta 26.2.0 release. Same computer, same paper, same Canon driver. I specified the paper as Canon Pro Luster paper. I specified that Photoshop and Lightroom would manage colors, each using Canon's "PRO-1000/500 Photo Paper Pro Luster" profile. The Photoshop print came out with a distinct green cast. The Lightroom print came out very close to what I had on my screen. See attached. Any suggestions as to what is going on? MacOS 15.1.1
