Questions

Have been using LRC on my new Windows PC for almost a year now.  Recently updated to the latest version.  I keep my catalog and image files on a removable drive.  Went to use my Macbook yesterday and couldn't load the updated catalog from the removeable drive because the catalog file was newer.  So I ran update all in Adobe Cloud and got a message that said the latest version of Lightroom Classic was not compatible with the Monterey OS.  Said I needed to have the Ventura OS.  I thought fine, I'll upgrade to Ventura.  Found out that my 9 year old Macbook can't run Ventura OS.  So my question is: Do I need to get a new Macbook in order to run the latest version of Lightroom Classic?  I know it's 9 years old, but was hoping to get more mileage out of it.  Related question: Don't the new Macbooks use a new Apple chip, not an Intel  CPU?  Will my other software like MS Office even run on it?

I recently shot images in Spain. On returning to the East Coast, I commenced editing in Photoshop, and Topaz(using the plugin). When the images return to LrC, the capture time on the edited image changes by six hours, the interrnational time difference between Spain and the East Coast. When daylight Savings Time came into effect, the capture time changesd on returning images by the new time difference. Now I am in Mexico, where the time difference with Spain, is seven hours, as Mexico has abolished Daylight Savings time, and the capture time on edited images is  again different. For those who may ask, while in Spain, my camera was set to local time as related to GMT, which is the Canon protocol.   In LrC, in View > Sort, my selection is Capture Time. The problem is that edited images do not pair with the original image which results in having to searchfor the image, and attempt to pair the edited image with the original. Ever since upgarding to the new M4 Macbook Pro, I am having this issue. This is a bug that I've seen mentioned on other threads, but I want to bring it up in my sepcific version of software/hardware combo.   The issue: No new previews or thumbnails are being generated when importing new photos on the library. Hello there,  I'm reaching out with a problem I just can't seem to fix with Lightroom. I shoot my photos with a 3:2 aspect ratio on my Canon 5d Mark iii camera. When I import them to lightroom, in the library, the thumbnails show the full picture with the 3:2 ratio (I have it set to see the embedded preview in the library module). However, when I go to the develop module, the pictures are suddenly a different aspect ratio (looks like 4:3), and pixels from either side have been cropped out.  I have already checked the following: - When I hit "reset" in the crop section of the develop module, nothing happens. The pixels aren't recovered. - There are no develop settings being applied to the files upon import- My preset is set to "Adobe default" for the global preset for RAW defaults- When I import the RAW files to another platform like Capture 1, the cropping does not happen. All the pixels are conserved and the photo remains 3:2 even after editing and export

Auto Settings ( Ctrl + U ) is not working for more the approximate 50 pictures Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 PS : PC version , tested on multiple Laptops not working since 12.0 and no one cares about this problem .....thank you Adobe !

Hello Everyone, I recently broke-up with my girlfriend and she used my Adobe account for lightroom classic. The issue we are having is that i don't want her using my account and she is affraid to lose all her presets, setting and everything she has configured in it. Is it possible for her to get her own subscripton and keep everything in Lightroom Classic as is?  

Have they changed the way things are viewed in lightroom library.I am used to seeing the original image and the edited images side by side in lightroom Library, But I have noticed that only the edit images now shows in the library only.I was editing my file _PTE8028.NEF added a little colour.  Prior to the update I would see the original Image with the original file name, then I would see the edited version next to it.  So I wanted to do a before and after shot, so that I can compare the two images. However only the edited image is present and when I go to compare it automatically compares the edited image to the next file _PTE8029.NEF.The reason I wanted to compare the original to the edited is to see if I did too much editing to the original and now I cant do that because only the edited image is displayed in the Library and no both the original image and edited image.Can anyone offer any advise on this.

Hello, I need help from the experts.I have set up Lightroom on a MacBook Pro so that whenever I import a new photo or make any changes to an existing image it flags it to publish/republish it to a Hard Drive found under "Publish Services. I  transferred the entire catalog to my Windows PC and I'm having a hard time setting this up. Any idea how I can accomplish this same task under Windows? I've attached a couple screenshots for your reference.  Thanks in advanced 

Beim Start des Moduls "Diashow" kommt die Meldung "Dynamic Link-Mediaserver kann nicht gestartet werden".Betriebssystem Windows 100 22h aktuellste Version, Hauptspeicher 32 GBWindows 10 neu installiert, Lightroom Classic mehrmals installiert, hat alles nicht geholfen.Gemäß Analyse (Programmabbruchanalyse in Windows) muss es das Modul dvacore.dll  sein, was die Probleme verursacht.Adobe Support konnte auch nicht helfen, ausser Versuche über Neuinstallation mit Adobe-Tools oder  Aktivierung von vorhandenen Microsoft Visual  C++ Redistributable Patches.Hat jemand ein ähnliches Problem? Das Diamodul funktioniert unter Lightroom 13 /Version HErbst 2023) und noch in der sehr alten Version 5.7.1.  D.h. die Hardware oder Windows 10 sind nicht das Problem!

Photo picked will process but no DNG file is created. Just leaves me with a blank screen when its finished process. I have to pick the photo again. was working great up to the time I had to shut down for a couple of days. Re started my computer after the couple of days went into Lightroom Classic processed a photo, ran it through Denoise and the problem started. Bonjour, Je ne peux pas déplacer des dossiers dans la bibliothère Lightroom Classic " impossible de terminer le déplacement du dossier. Une erreur de type indeterminée s'est produite".Il s'agit bien d'un bug car j'ai pu le faire une fois après redémarrage de l'application, mais cela bloque à nouveau pour d'autres dossiers.Très handicapant pour organiser mon travail car si je ne procède pas via la bibliothèque cela complique toute ma gestion des images.Comment faire ? Ou signaler ce bug afin qu'il soit corrigé au plus vite ?

I have been trying a workflow using my iPad and Lightroom whole away travelling.  I load all images to Lightroom while I am away as a means to back up the cards and to check and do some edits while I go. When I get back home, I open Lightroom Classic and then let the cloud sync back. Then I copy all the images from the trip to a folder on the local drive within LRC. I then remove them from the cloud as I like to keep only my selects there. But, I get a lot of issues with syncing - the cloud icon top right is blue and shows that a number of the files are constantly downloading.  Is what I am doing causing issues?

I have Lightroom running on an iMac with the catalogue on the iMac, but the RAW files and XMP files written to a NAS drive.I am getting a number of metadata write failures on each set of images I process.Current example out of 22 images, 8 have failed with the above error.Whilst some have updated, those that fail either have a metadata status of 'Unknown', or  'Has been changed'.When I retry the metadata save, they all go to 'Unknown'.The only workaround that works more often than not, is to delete the xmp file on the disk, and then re-save the metadata.This is increasingly a problem, as I have to run a smart collection of images with suspect metadata status values, and attempt to fix them.Please note that this is Lightroom 6, but there doesnt seem to be a forum for this version any longer...All help very much appreciated.

Hi I am on Lightroom Classic 12.0.1 If I select range of photos and turn on Auto Sync on and press auto on library module/develop module it does not apply auto settings to ALL the selected photos. They do for some and don't for some, in fact I just found out sometimes, if I go to a different image from the one  I just applied auto setting from, and with auto sync on press auto, it will revert some photos that was auto settings applied back to baseline. This has been an annoying issue and is there a fix?OS- Macos Ventura. Thank You

I have recently updated to the latest versions of LRC and PS but when I right click and choose Edit with on a raw file it does not open Raw converter which is annoying especially as I regularly deliberately underexpose images so as not to lose detail in the sky.

I am working on an iMac M4, with LRc v 14.0.1My last catalog is -v12.When I opened LRC a few days ago, all my files seemed gone... and a few very old files showed up, see picture. I replaced the file -v12 from my Time Machine with a file which was a few days older: same result.I did a clean install of LRc: same result....Still the catalogfile still shows that is about 190 MB, so it should be alright. In the picture; there should be maps all the way up to 2024...How do I get it back to work?

Hi, I am trying to put my copy of Lightroom 6 on a new p.c. After a lot of trouble it"s on but it keeps asking me to sign in, It will not recognise my LR catalogue or let me import from my camera. I have everything backed up on Onedrive and an external hard drive. Any suggestions would be wecome.Many thanks, Peter.

Hi everyone,I'm having trouble with Lightroom not showing the tethered capture window. Here's what'shappening:• Tethering works when I press the camera's shutter button, so the connection appears to be fine.• However, the tethered capture window doesn't appear, so I can't use live view and change other controls on-screen.• I've already enabled the tethered capture window through File → Tethered Capture → Show Tethered Capture Window, but it's still not showing. My setup:• MacBook Air (M1)• macOS Sonoma 14.5• Lightroom 14.0.1• Sony A7IVI'd really appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips to resolve this. depois que o Lightrrom atualizou para as versões mais novas o meu aplicativo está fechando quando estou trabalhando nas minhas edições, as vezes funciona sem problema, outras ele simplesmente reinicializa o Windows, isso não acontece com outros programas e aplicativos,alguém teve problema pareceido?

Please help.  I'm barely able to operate LRC because the program is running at a snail speed. I am running the program on my SSD Drive.  Catalog is on my external SSD.   My PC is an i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHx; 32GB RAM. I am basically at a stop-work situation....importing is OK but anything else is so slow it doesn't make sense to use it. I have excluded LRC from my virus protection. Has anyone had a problem when synching metadata - specifically keywords - on LRCC .  I've started getting error code 1555 stating the location/name of the database, then UNIQUE constraint failed: AgLibraryKeywordImage.id_local sql: INSERT INTO AgLibraryKeywordImage( id_local, image, tag ) VALUES( ?, ?, ?); (error code 1555)   Any idea what that means?   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
