Questions

Symptom: I can locate an image in Library/Grid view.   I'm sure the file is there (I recently ran Find All Missing Photos, and only  30 of 114K images were missing).  I go to Develop mode.  The image displays.  I change a slider (I picked Shadows), and image disappears, replaced by message  "No photo selected".   BackgroundI'm on MacOS 15.1, LRC 14.0.1/Cam Raw 17.0Catalog on external 2TB SSD; images on external 6TB HDDI recently moved disk drives around.  But ran Find Missing to make sure LRC was seeing the drive.  It is.  Only 30 missing of 114K.   I recently built Smart Previews for all images.  Took several runs as there was a power failure.  But catalog has passed the validity check and optimization consistently.  No errors reported.   I have made sure that LRC has Files and Folders access in MacOS 15.1 (24B83).  I tried granting Full Disk Access but this did no good. I'm at the end

Question re: Lightroom Classic Rel. 14.0.1.  I have photos which were previously edited by LrC 14.0.1 but are not in the current catalog.  I want to Import these photos into LrC and have LrC recognize that XMP files for these photos already exist.  How do get LrC to use the existing XRC files for edits?  Thanks.  Vic.

One and only one image in my catalog looks bizarre after applying denoise under the Detail menu. A number of changes were applied (exposure, cropping, etc. — standard changes). Some were applied to a masked area as opposed to the whole image. When the denoise option is applied, the enhanced image is badly wrong. I cannot even describe it properly. I am including a sample image. Work is being done on a 2023 M2 Macbook Pro running MacOS 15.1 (Sequoia), 96 GB RAM. If I try similar changes to another image, I have no trouble, so I think I must have toggled on something for this image, but I have no idea what. 

For the last month or two Ive been having a memory leak issue with Lightroom Classic with zero help from Adobe or even acknowledgement of the problem. Its not just myself with this issue as I have seen various threads here from others experiencing the same thing with varying results for resolution. Unfortunately Ive still not found a solution for a fix and its just becoming harder and harder to get any kind of bulk work done.   Im a full time photographer with Lightroom being part of my daily workflow, with it grinding to a halt every few hours im bashing my head against a wall for any kind of solution. Even editing on my Ipad which is painful but somehow faster than doing it on my Macbook pro M1 Max, this just shouldnt be the case.    In a previous thread about this issue, someone was saying they had a few photos stuck syncing and once they located and fixed them the memory leak somehow cleared up. A couple of months ago I bought a Canon PRO300 printer which I absolutely love. I also chose to use the Canon Professional Print and Layout software for making the prints. I think its a great piece of software which gets great results for me. I would edit my image in Photoshop and then launch the Canon PPL software from there using the installed plugin. It worked flawlessly. Recently however I became converted to using Lightroom to edit my images but I can't launch the Canon PPL from Lightroom. The plugin is installed but when I launch PPL, I get a status message stating "Opening Canon Professional Print & Layout" but the message disappears after a few seconds and PPL does not load.Any ideas?  Thanks. Windows 10. I'm trying to get a handle on relative vs perpetual rendering intents and want to print a picture using each intent to compare with the associated soft proofs. However, almost randomly, I either have the option to only choose Perpectual (Photo) or No Colour Correction, or no choice (greyed out showing Perpectual (Photo). I never see the option to choose relative. I'm definetly using the Canon (Pro 200) drivers, not Airprint.  The screenshot shows the greyed out option, I have seen the two options presented several times in the past 10 minutes but can't reproduce for a screenshot.  MacOS 15.0.1 (24A348), Lightroom Classic 14.0.1

I have 150 folders holding 15-20 images each.  I want to import the folders then export them into new folders after making the files a smaller size.  This was the recommended steps from a facebook lightroom group.  It isn't working:  I have selected the folders that I want and use the Copy Import MethodI have set the Destination panel :Into subfolder Checked "For Export"Organize "By original folders.Then hit ImportI select the For Export Folder and select Export In the Export Panel "Export to Same Folder as Original"Add to this CatalogExisting Files "Overwrite without Warning"

And it contains 10 recent images I have the originals in my catalog for. Why would LR Classic download and store smartpreviews, they are supposed to be in the cloud, I don't need them on my HD where I have the originals. What is this mess? What happens if I delete them in LRC?

I use Lightroom 6 but the program is corrupted; everytime I import or export a file, the program stops. Now I want to remove the program of my computer and download it again from the Adobe website. But I get the message that "This installer is no longer available". What can I do to get a new version of Lightroom 6 ?

Bonjour, J'ai acheté une licence LR6 et j'ai donc une clé d'activation.L'installation se passe sans problème. Je rentre ma clé et le système me demande de me connecter au site d'Abode. Et c'est là que çà coince ; mon numéro de série est bien reconnu, mais pas la version du logiciel, et quand je veux sélectionner mon produit dans le menu déroulant, il n'y a pas la version 6. Cela s'arrête à la version 5 de LR.J'avais précédemment la version 5 et cela fonctionne. Comment régler ce problème qui semble venir du site d'Abode.Il est toujorus frustant de ne pas pouvoir contacter directement Adobe.

I just got my new Mac Mini M4 Pro in today! Everything went well with installation except for Lightroom. I keep getting prompts that Lightroom cannot create folders, however the permissions have been granted for it.  Also inside of the develop module the images don't sync together, after some time paste develop settings did not work. The bottom strip also did not always move with the images or keys I was pressing. Just very glitchy throughout. It wasn't slow, it was actually pretty fast, just non-responsive, I had to keep toggling between develop module and Library module.   Importing new images was fine, no issues there. I recently bought the 2022 version of LRC. I've scoured this website and others trying everything I can find to get my brushes to show up. I can see them in the local adjustment folder but they won't show when I need them.  How do I get them to show? Also, is it possible to buy a copy from Adobe? I imported jpeg photos from my IPhone using a Windows 11 computer. I've made edits to the photos in Lightroom Classic and now I want to export the photos to the same folder.  When I do so, Lightroom converts them to jpg.  So now I have the old photo jpeg and an edited photo jpg. There must be a setting so that I can put them back as jpeg.  Jpg is old naming convention so I suspect there is a place I can change in Lightroom Classic Settings

I would like to create a photo book in Lightroom and send to Blurb to be printed.  I don't want the same layout for every page.  I would like some full size, 4 to a page (2 x 2), 2 to a page (both laid out horizontally or vertically) or some combination of 3 photos. I'm completely flummoxed by Lightroom's book module.  I'd like to start with a blank book, ,specify the overall size of each page, and then say for this page I want this layout and drag the photos on to the page.  Setup a new layout for the next page, and drag photos to it.  Is this possible? When I start the book module, I see this:What do I do next?

Hi I am planning to more my Lr from my old iMac (mid 15) too a new one, (newish, 2 yrs old) it only as a small HD so i want to put the images on a SSD, then run Lr on the iMac,  i want to avoid problems so i am am here asking before i try to cause them!! What is the best way forward? Thanks for any help, Alan 

I have been using LRC for several years now and never had any issues till now.    Configuration: iMac 27" intel i9, 96gb ram, LRC catalog and images stored on external Samsung 980 SSD/ MacOS 15.1.1   I udated to MacOS 15.1 a month ago, LRC seemed faster, but within the last week its been crashing after it completes a denoising batch process.     - I repair the catalog and optimize it and it works fine.    Today I started a batch denoise of 150 images. It completed and I went to open one and it crashed.    I restart the app, its says catalog corrupted!!! I then try and repair it, and it fails to repair.    Now it says "An error prevented Lightroom Classic from Opening this catalog. "   I also updated to macOS 15.1.1 today which was security issue fix so I can't imagine it affected the LRC Cat file.    How do I repair this?    I tried the right click option on the LRC catalog but it does not show any opt

I use both Lightroom Classic v14.0.1 and LR (mobile) v10.0.1. I recently did a major cleanup in Lightroom classic then replicated the updates to the adobe cloud DB. During my cleanup I deleted multiple photos I should have kept. LR Classic has no image recovery. The deleted images still show in LR mobile on my iPad as I have replication disabled. Is there a way to upload my LR mobile images to override the photos in the adobe cloud DB and restore the deleted photos?

It had always been for me that when in the Transform section and hovering my mouse over the sliders such as "vertical" and "horizontal," etc., gridlines would appear over my image, thus providing me a guide to how straight the objects in the image appear. All of the sudden, though, that no longer happens! I move my cursor there and just nothing happens. Any idea why and what to do about it? Thank you.

So I'm experiencing a strange issue in Lightroom Classic 13.5.1 . Basicilly if I import a raw file and make REMOVE brush edits in FIT view those edits are blurry and lacking in detail if I zoom into 100% or greater. If I make the very same edits while zoomed in at 100% or adjust an existing using the arrow key, the problem resolves itself, and the removed/healed are looks much more natural and detailed.Here's the workflow that might replicate it:1. Make sure your LR isn't set to auto build full size previews2. Import a raw file you've never edited (.cr3 if possible and ideally something noisy since you can see it easier) 3. Go to DEVELOP4. Make sure you are in "Fit" zoom mode NOT 100% etc5. Apply some REMOVE brush to blemishes or other parts of the images6. Now zoom in to 100% or 200% and see if the adjustments lack detail.7. Note that if you move or redo the healing brush it fixes itselfHere's what I know:-Exported images contain these flaws if not corrected-Only seems to affect

In full scree mode I often encounter the lost of the mouse pointer as I use the Brush Object (nothing on the image) or the Eraser tool (the mouse arrow instead of the circle).This issue does not occur with other tools, i.e. the Object mask in box selection (I see indeed the cross). And never in the  regular screen mode. Hi everyone, I have a student who is unable to create a contact sheet. Her photos are there and the source is locatable. She is able to edit her photos in the develop tab just fine and export them with no problem, so I know the photos are there! But when she goes to the Print Tab, all of the images in her filmstrip appear to be greyed out and they are unselectable to then put in a contact sheet. I included an image of a photo in the develop tab to show how normal this tab appears and then a photo of what happens when we go to the print tab. I've never had this issue before and can't seem to fine any troubleshooting help! Any suggestions are welcomed! Thanks!

I have a large number of scanned images in 8 bit RGB tiff format with an 'uncalibrated' color profile. My Mac assumes it is sRGB if viewed in Preview although the EXIF data shows 'uncalibrated' for the [EXIF:ExifIFD] ColorSpace tag. I asked the company that did the scans what color profile they used in the scans and they said sRGB.Since the tiff images were uncompressed they were extremely large so I decided to compress them with Adobe Deflate (zip) in Lightroom Classic 14.0.0 (Mac running Sequoia 15.1). This required to export them as 8-bit tiff and to assign a color profile, so I chose sRGB (sRGB IEC61966-2.1 to be exact). There were no edits to any of the images so I expected the exported tiffs to be identical, except for being compressed.Visually, the exported tiffs with Adobe deflate (zip) were identical. However I happened to do some image comparisons of the original uncompressed tiff and the exported zip tiffs with BeyondCompare  and was surprised to see small changes in RG
